I had the JS300 entry level S type and it was really good. Of course the electronics could do with an upgrade but it was worth the price for the neck alone
I have 3 Jet guitars JS300-JT300-JT350. They are all so good I would have a difficult time deciding which one I'd most likely sell...so I am happy with all 3 and wouldn't sell any of them. I like the intro models because those are the guitar that brought attention to Jets in the first place...all three necks are perfect!!
This week I heard a fabuous guitar player who has some very tasty guitars use a Jet S type guitar at a gig and through a SS Fender amp, and i have to say, the sound was excellent.
I have 4 jet guitars amongst a modest collection . Playablity makes them equals and the price means upgrades are affordable . this allows the guitars to grow into themselves . it has been a journey with them and probably wouldnt sell them . good video and nice to hear an authentic assessment against the fender selection . very grateful :)
I have a Jet Strat, bought it out of curiosity. Honest opinion, it’s a very good guitar I have the trem set to float. It stays in tune very well, I enjoy playing it as much as my American standard.
Very nice looking and sounding guitars. Looks like JET is paying close attention to all the important factors. The stability of the Tremolo/Whammy was impressive, though I'd like to also hear if it stays in tune when the bar is pulled way "up". Thanks
All these budget axes of Asian persuasion are coming from the same shops that have mastered guitar making. My HB's are flawless (both Teles).....flawless. My MIA's and MIMs are not made any better in terms of fit/finish. With boutique pups...you often have a GEM of a guitar (e.g. AIO TC4, CV50, HB-TE62DB) for a fraction of the price of a MIA (which come with so-so pups anyway). In fact...ordered a second AIO yesterday...lefty....TC1...walnut set neck Tele...gorgeous and expect it to arrive as advertised...set up like a Custom Shop guitar...like my last one arrived. Such a deal!! Under $500.
They're the best budget guitars on the market by miles. I got a used JS-400 for £100 to take abroad and its easily better than my Classic Vibes and Player strats were.
I would like your opinion. Because I really hesitate between JET and Sire Larry Carlton T7. Is there a real difference in quality? I know that there is a part of feeling when you hold the guitar in your hands. But for those who have had or tried both, I would like your opinion between these two brands! Thanks a lot
Picked up a Sire S7 based on your review;happy with it but neck is a little thin. Interested in the Jet JT 30, is the neck any different than the sire?
What wireless system are you using? I recently bought a cheap joyo set off of Amazon. Best money I've spent on gear in long long time. I can crank my amp in the back room and sit in the living room to play. It sounds glorious without blowing my head off.
Perhaps this is by design. If Fender made the Player Series "too good" then who would buy an American Professional? Unlike the previous Standard Series (the Strat for example), the Player Series is designed to be very similar to the American Standard/American Professional models. They Player Series have the 22-fret neck like the US models (the old Standard model stuck with the traditional 21 frets); they use the same bridges (specifically the Strat) as the American versions where the MIM Standard used a vintage style 6-screw vibrato. They are both modern or updated interpretations of the classic Strat and Tele design so there has to be something to incentivize people to pay the extra money for the American Professional II range.
I like the tele and the weight is 👍‼️ When you say the neck feels thicker than a standard telecaster, are you referring to player series or 🇺🇸 series ❓
seriously considering that gold tele!! I just checked one in the shop today and it's a beautiful player. That pickguard will have to go, however. Anyone know if its standard spec sized for a change to, say, cream or parchment?
Not everyone can afford Gucci gear, I can, and have some, sold a lot of it on, but it's just something to worry about gigging, in case it gets nicked or damaged, I have had a 400 since the first batch, great guitar, changed the single coils and the trem springs were sh#te, easy fix, everything else superb, only Strats I have had to compare were Fender and worth thousands, they didn't do anything this doesn't do, neck on the Jet is fantastic. Only Tele I currently own is a Fazley, neck is a bit rough on the finish, but has a P90 in the neck, I never liked the neck pup on Teles, and sounds great, Jet and Sire are my go to brands now, if Jet have a Tele with a P90 in the neck I'd buy it tomorrow.
700 GBP for a Jet Tele? 🙄 I mean, I am happy with my JT300, but it only cost me 150 quid and even if I upgraded the heck out of it, it wouldn't exceed 250 in total.. These guys are aiming too high, too soon...
I think that's a fair point to make when the entry level stuff is so competitively priced - but this guitar ends up being much lighter, alnico pickups and wilkinson hardware so I think they've ended up with a guitar that compares super favourably with something like a Fender Player
The production is managed by Jet employees on sight in China, my guess is it's a particular number of lines in a bigger factory like PRS at the Cort factory.
Don't spend your hard earned money on expensive cars, watches, clothes and guitar gear! It' s not worth the money. Let rich people do that! If you are just a hobby-player, it is even more stupid, cause brand-names don't offer you anything else than an empty wallet. Be clever!
Have you ever played a high-end fender? Sounds may not be that different, but the playability changes a lot. The Jet is a very nice guitar, but it doesn't have that fender tone. I have never figured out why you can have a fender strat vs any other brand strat and none will sound like a fender but the fender.
@@Kevin20ftw Neck playability comes in all sizes...it's like shoes , if it doesn't feel right you wouldn't buy them. The "Fender Tone" is a myth and can be had with quality wood selection which a lot of low end guitars have addressed as well as quality workmanship and the "Fender Sound" it's just a certain set of pickups and trust me all could be put together for a third the cost of any Fender price range equivalent depending on the hardware...pop on a set of blinkers and nobody would be able to tell the difference.
Many of these newer brands are comparable and better than Squier and entry level fenders in features and quality, but they suffer in resale value Buying them used is even a better deal
Idea! I always appreciate your reviews but maybe if you did the review first, and then the concert for the additional 20 minutes, your viewers wouldn't strain our fast-forward fingers so much.
There are many brands equal to fenders and gibsons for much lower prices. My Harley Benton SC 450 plus plays as well as my Tribute and I prefer my squier and Yamaha 612 to my fender usa strat. Fenders and gibsons are nice guitars but way too expensive. And it's everywhere the same: my daughter bought some summer shoes for my wife for 50 bucks. A friend of us got the same (no brand) shoes for 3 bucks. A crazy world, where you pay mostly for a well-known brand-name. Or take a Gucci bag which is "worth" some thousands of dollars. fxk them all!
Your knife is bigger than mine... I quit playing expensive guitars a long time ago. If you pay 350 pounds for a guitar you are almost guaranteed to get a good one. You could probably also pay much less and still get a good guitar. I also bought a Jet JT-300, and it was excellent with minor work.
The reason i bought a Fender Player is that Fender have made a million guitars or something and they know how to make a guitar. The quality control is top tier, seriously has anyone had a really horrible Fender? Yeah you can probably find a better guitar for the same money, but people saying Fenders are all about the name are crazy. They have earned their name and they would lose their reputation in a heartbeat if the product lost its quality. On the whole i think buying a genuine Fender Player is a great choice for most people.
in the end it's just a copy cat. If you dream is to have a Telecaster you should go for the Fender, never settle for the lesser thing because you will always be trying to justify to yourself why that thing is so much better than your dream guitar.

Happy to see Jet Guitars everywhere. I Buy my Jet after your fist video about the Jet JS-450. Now it´s my main guitar! Thanks, John!!!

Absolutely
Apart from the scratch plate on that tele, the guitar looks amazing and sounds like it too. But, for a 750€, i wouldn't expect anything else tbh

That T-style at £700 should have had a belly cut.
Tight fisted not to do a belly cut 😢
Jet je-350 is a belly cut tele and sells for half that price
They both sounds really harsh in the upper end, especially the tele.. Anyone else? Or is it just me? Great playing as always. Thanks for the review. 🙂
What amp were you using for the js 380 John?
What is your amp/pedal set up? It sounds great!! Did you have a set up done on the guitar before the demo?
How do these measure up against the t7?
I think I prefer the hardware choices on the Jet, and I think the neck is slightly chunkier. Otherwise very similar guitars?
2 guitars, 1 knife is so much better than 2 girls, 1 cup.
I think they both belong on the same playlist

try one of the levinson strats or teles. or an artist once the ss frets get to UK
