      @@darrenstreeton4237 i dont recommend turf as full of weed grasses so its pot luck as to how much is in it when you get it, but going somewhere like lindums or tillers is the best bet for reduced weed grass content

    The amount of thatch you got out of the front lawn is scary stuff. Couldn't believe it. The back lawn looks beautiful. I like the tartan on this lawn.

    Been watching for quite awhile I used to work on great leaver and farnworth golfcourse and I’ll tell you using different heights on different mowers it was quite easy to do great work and by the way I’m a Bolton fan hahaha keep up the good work

    i went to old trafford, and that football pitch made my lawn look like a wimbledon tennis court, it was four inches long with thistles and weeds, they hadnt played on it for three weeks, and before they did it would be cut short and soaked

    I’ve recently bought a scarifier. Only a cheap £70 for screwfix job. It comes with the scarifying blades attached but also comes with a power rake. What’s the difference between the two? And should I ever use the power rake or just use the scarifying blades? Great videos as always 👍🏻

      I have the same machine I think. The power rake is OK for debris and some moss but not much else.. I always just use the scarifier attachment

    I wanted a few bags of a sand/soil mixture as you used on a video but cannot remember the ratio and the trade name of the product as I have not seen any in my local DIY garden centres so perhaps it is only available through a trade supplier ?

      Just leave it trying to thin it out not thicken it up, i seeded the patch that was it

    I am going to attempt all this. My lawn is full of moss, clover, weeds and ants. Im going to skin the lawn short, scarify it and pull out as many weeds etc as my bad back will take, in 5 min intervals i think. I have never had much luck in the past with grass seeds. Can anyone recommend what grass seed i should go for and where from. I'm in Birmingham UK.

    Sorry, I know I’m being dim but if the lawn was scarified after the mow, what was done with “ye old faithful” before the mow? It looked like scarifying though I’m sure it wasn’t. Thanks

    Why, why, why?! Was about the noise my wife made when I scarified our lawn last weekend. I told her to go back inside ..... and kept on working. It had to be done. It was too thick and spongy. ... "Well, it still looks nice." Was what I heard about 30 minutes later. 😂

      Its upto you but be careful you dont run out, i did that vid on 30 and used full bag in 150m2

    As I won't be working on my grass for the next 2 weeks I decided to do a cut shorter and then a little power rake on highest setting. Then went back over with the mover with the same setting and was amazed how much came out.
    Did a bit of overseeding to use up some old seed and then used the last of jacks. I'll see what happens.
    Will be doing a full renovation with your products next year

    Dan, what is that “orange” dry looking leaf caused by? Personally I like a very stripey lawn, it’smore old school posh garden than modern football pitch.

      Just lawn life but mainly coz it too thick and in the shade so exacerbates the situation and gets disease especially when its very wet too and no sun drying the lawn out

    Hi Daniel! Hello from New Zealand! Loving the vids, for your petrol scarifier is there anywhere you can buy spare blades etc? Also have you seen whether they do a grooming/verticutter attachment for that model? I have got the same scarifier which is basically brand new but it is marketed under the "Hyundai' brand. Same Chinese factory - just a different brand. But we don't have access to any parts here. So wondering if anywhere I can find parts if the need arises.

    How often in summer months are these lawns being cut per week? I work offshore 3 weeks on 3 weeks off. So the 3 weeks I'm away think my girlfriend cuts my lawn about 2 times a week at a push compared to my every second day.😂🙈

      Yeah i did both verticutting only covers a certain amount of the distance where as the scarifer on the allett has 100% coverage

    Hi dan, your work is class love the videos, ive recently did my lawn, used all your processes and treatments from your shop. However the lawn is pure clay based and even though the grass came through great, its now been taken over 10 fold by weeds , thinking off killing the whole thing off and starting again with few tons of good top soil next year and repeating your steps , any advise would be epic, keep up the good work.

      id say 70% of the lawn is covered in weeds, I took the lawn back scarified it, jacks magic 15 bags, covered it, barengrun seeded it then used all your products whilst it was growing, all the old weeds came back from the previous lawn.     I never seen worm casts on the lawns you’re working on. From late August onwards mine is covered with them. If you mow, they end up as big squadged patches of mud. I know worms are good for lawns, but how do you deal with their casts?

    What weed killer is everyone using? I laid down some topsoil while seeding and now have a plethora of thistles, bindweed, bittercress, horsetail and others. I need something that’ll kill the weeds but not the grass!
