Going to lay a new lawn very soon 🤞

So much to learn 😁

Going to order the turf soon 😬
Would you have a preferred turf ,a good alrounder...? Thanks
@@darrenstreeton4237 i dont recommend turf as full of weed grasses so its pot luck as to how much is in it when you get it, but going somewhere like lindums or tillers is the best bet for reduced weed grass content
I like the tartan look, or as my wife calls it " granny's blanket"
Yes like the shopping trolley my gran had
What a superb result. Impressive!
Might start wearing flip flops Sean
No not the flip flops🤭

The amount of thatch you got out of the front lawn is scary stuff. Couldn't believe it. The back lawn looks beautiful. I like the tartan on this lawn.
Yeah always surprised how much comes up and how much lawn is still left!!
Been watching for quite awhile I used to work on great leaver and farnworth golfcourse and I’ll tell you using different heights on different mowers it was quite easy to do great work and by the way I’m a Bolton fan hahaha keep up the good work
ImGoing for a burton saturday hopefully right saturdays wrongs!
Great timing, about to start my renovation shortly. Going for the full removal and rootzone base. Thanks for the discount code 👍🏼 no one ask me where it is 😂
Think just got your order, dont tell anyone

Great job
i went to old trafford, and that football pitch made my lawn look like a wimbledon tennis court, it was four inches long with thistles and weeds, they hadnt played on it for three weeks, and before they did it would be cut short and soaked
I was waiting for the oops I did it again saying Dan near the end of the video 😂, and just the stripes going across for looks best 👌🏼
Britney only comes out in the sun!!

Great job as usual. Squares is best!
Very nice work 🙏😊
ur gonna be famous
Ya reckon?
Looks great Dan, thanks for your advice as ever! I think the "squares" looks best!
Yeah think most people like the squares
Like a bowling green. Savage work fair play.
Another vote for Squares Danny 👍
It’s not only the knowledge but the inspiration. Shame you don’t clean your van though. I guess every cloud has a silver lining… summer holidays have left me too skint until pay day but I’ve got plenty to keep me going.
Clean van no coupon!!
Thanks for the video and code Dan. Suite of products about to be purchased!
No probs thanks for the custom, u must have a keen eye and i must have a dirty van!
That’s a nice looking property either way, but the checkerboard pattern is like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae.
Ice cream best eaten in summer so keep watching it will happen but in the summer
I’ve recently bought a scarifier. Only a cheap £70 for screwfix job. It comes with the scarifying blades attached but also comes with a power rake. What’s the difference between the two? And should I ever use the power rake or just use the scarifying blades? Great videos as always 👍🏻
I have the same machine I think. The power rake is OK for debris and some moss but not much else.. I always just use the scarifier attachment
Daniel , my front lawn is very sponge to walk on ! . Does the lawn need to be scarified?
Yeah definately a symptom of a lawn in need
great job again Dan ,, what grass seed is on there ?
Ryegrass back and front
Love ur videos. Could you tell me what products you put on lawn plz. Thinking of doing my lawn this weekend 😊😊
All on my website
I wanted a few bags of a sand/soil mixture as you used on a video but cannot remember the ratio and the trade name of the product as I have not seen any in my local DIY garden centres so perhaps it is only available through a trade supplier ?
You cant buy 70/30 top dressing from diy stores usually
After verti cutting do you add seeds or just leave the lawn ?
Just leave it trying to thin it out not thicken it up, i seeded the patch that was it
What type of machine is the ye old faithful? I thought that was the scarifyer? But then you have a different machine for that?
Its a scarifier with metal
Blades
I am going to attempt all this. My lawn is full of moss, clover, weeds and ants. Im going to skin the lawn short, scarify it and pull out as many weeds etc as my bad back will take, in 5 min intervals i think. I have never had much luck in the past with grass seeds. Can anyone recommend what grass seed i should go for and where from. I'm in Birmingham UK.
Sorry, I know I’m being dim but if the lawn was scarified after the mow, what was done with “ye old faithful” before the mow? It looked like scarifying though I’m sure it wasn’t. Thanks
Did you watch the video from
Start to finish??
Why, why, why?! Was about the noise my wife made when I scarified our lawn last weekend. I told her to go back inside ..... and kept on working. It had to be done. It was too thick and spongy. ... "Well, it still looks nice." Was what I heard about 30 minutes later. 😂
You still married? Or did she chuck u out?
The lawn is so beautiful. May I know what type of grass it is? Thanks.
Ryegrass theres a playlist documenting the lawn from start to finish,
Daniel silly question, you Said you used the halyer on 2 but see that it was in 3rd slot or do you refer to no.2 as 2 vacant slots left I’m only asking as I have same machine
It was maybe on 3 from last job but it was deffo on 2 when i was cutting
Hi Dan, just bought some Equilibrium. Do you know what setting I should use on the Scotts Evergreen Drop Spreader?
Its upto you but be careful you dont run out, i did that vid on 30 and used full bag in 150m2
As I won't be working on my grass for the next 2 weeks I decided to do a cut shorter and then a little power rake on highest setting. Then went back over with the mover with the same setting and was amazed how much came out.
Did a bit of overseeding to use up some old seed and then used the last of jacks. I'll see what happens.
Will be doing a full renovation with your products next year
Hi mate, quick question. My lawn has a lot of yarrow in it. What’s the best way to kill it?
Nothing you can do
Where would you suggest I purchased spring, summer, autumn, lawn treatment feed/weed etc.
Great videos by the way.
Do you think i would recommend another product range when i sell my own?

Dan, what is that “orange” dry looking leaf caused by? Personally I like a very stripey lawn, it’smore old school posh garden than modern football pitch.
Just lawn life but mainly coz it too thick and in the shade so exacerbates the situation and gets disease especially when its very wet too and no sun drying the lawn out
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert ahh, great. I have a bit on my sloped N. Wales back lawns but it can get shady and I’m renovating it atm. So I won’t worry. Cheers.
Hi Daniel! Hello from New Zealand! Loving the vids, for your petrol scarifier is there anywhere you can buy spare blades etc? Also have you seen whether they do a grooming/verticutter attachment for that model? I have got the same scarifier which is basically brand new but it is marketed under the "Hyundai' brand. Same Chinese factory - just a different brand. But we don't have access to any parts here. So wondering if anywhere I can find parts if the need arises.
Thanks!
Yes from alko in germany i got some direct or on ebay just type in alko vb 3800 scarifier blades see if they same

any reason why not using your Allett for Scarifying etc?
I did use it in the video
Apologies Daniel i wasnt clear, does the old one go deeper for you to have to use both? could you not use the Allett exclusively?@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert
Good video as usual...
Which one of the cuts looks the best? The tartan or the triple/triple both look really good.
But not as good as the double/single or the triple/double.
Looks amazing! Well done mate.
Did my front lawn on Friday, already got 3cm growth from some seeds today (Wednesday). Gets a good amount of sun and I've watered 3 times a day
Thats good going 3cm in 5 days
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert quite surprised as its Asda grass seed dressed with top soil from a local garden centre. Down here in the south we've had high 20s and a good amount of sun the last week
Asda grass seed 😂😂🤣🤣. Had me buckled there 👍

Hi I have a 300sq m back lawn which I scarifie and reseed each spring if needed with BS renovator seed. Which seed would you recommend for best results or is it best to stay with the same variety? Thanks.
The seed i use here barenbrug extreme
Thankyou
How often in summer months are these lawns being cut per week? I work offshore 3 weeks on 3 weeks off. So the 3 weeks I'm away think my girlfriend cuts my lawn about 2 times a week at a push compared to my every second day.😂🙈
This one 3x a week
What would you say is the average length to cut grass?
Tough one think 1-2 inch is prob where most lawns would be, cant see there being loads of well kept ones
Once again, magnificent. Simply the best.
Great kudos
Love the channel! What type of grass do all the lawns have? Watching from the US and mowing bermuda with an old TruCut… would love to get an Allett with a rear roller and cartridge system but $$$ over here.
Its dwarf rye in the front and full rye in the back with dwarf rye incorporated over last two years
Just moved to the coast in Devon and about to start a whole lawn renovation following your advice. Will these grass types be ok on the coast?
@@leeh6816 they use them at football grounds up and down the coast in the uk, dans magic liquid lawn feed is great for salt toxicity

I’m crap working out how much product I need. 60m2 lawn. Using Stellar and Dan’s magic. How much of each should I put in a 5L sprayer if I want to apply both at the same time?!
Whats 60 x 2 and 60 x 10?

Yeah i agree not sure what im doing wrong especially when i look at other channels who have 100s of thousands at post rubbish lawns
Hi first time on this channel and very impressed, what’s this equilibrium I keep seeing in the comments. Thanks
Its my main feed of the summer but ive sold out now.
Squares. By the way Daniel, was that take-two at 15:48?
Always admire your work, pal. Keep it up.
Yeah forgot to edit that lol
Would verticutting be an alternative to scarifying to stop it being so thick?
Yeah i did both verticutting only covers a certain amount of the distance where as the scarifer on the allett has 100% coverage
When should you start cutting again following the reno?
Ill cut this on monday, so thats 5 days but if it needed it before id of done it
What's the actual make and model of 'ye old faithful'?
Alko
What is coupon code?
Its right there you just need to look
Hi dan, your work is class love the videos, ive recently did my lawn, used all your processes and treatments from your shop. However the lawn is pure clay based and even though the grass came through great, its now been taken over 10 fold by weeds , thinking off killing the whole thing off and starting again with few tons of good top soil next year and repeating your steps , any advise would be epic, keep up the good work.
Why not just use a lawn weedkiller? Or is it weed grasses?
id say 70% of the lawn is covered in weeds, I took the lawn back scarified it, jacks magic 15 bags, covered it, barengrun seeded it then used all your products whilst it was growing, all the old weeds came back from the previous lawn. What would be the best lawn weedkiller you would recommend to apply? thanks for replying appreciate it@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert
@@christianwilliams6258 why not just use lawn weedkiller then
I never seen worm casts on the lawns you’re working on. From late August onwards mine is covered with them. If you mow, they end up as big squadged patches of mud. I know worms are good for lawns, but how do you deal with their casts?
You obs not been watching my videos, im riddled with them all over
Maybe I need a higher definition screen !
