DCUO isn’t relevant in modern gaming for it to even be affected by Marvel Rivals. DCUO has its same player base of a thousand players keeping it alive.
It's actually refreshing seeing how fair Rivals is with everything, like pricing, the battle pass, even with how long you get to do the event, versus DCUO that is seemingly constantly pressuring you to spend now with constant sales, event pricing inflation, FOMO and no 2x arts. PVP used to be The reason I'd play DCUO. The PVP gameplay was amazing back in the day, but now it's long abandoned after so many reworks leaving it incredibly unbalanced. Versus Rivals which is balanced by having enough of a variety of overpowered people that makes it balanced. DCUO just wants everyone to pay to switch to whatever new "meta" they introduce.
Sadly.... Marvel Rivals will have FOMO. Some Costumes are available on the MarketPlace only for a limited time. And there will be LootBoxes in the game. :( Guess we will have to wait a bit to know exactly how they will monetize the game.
@DCUOMultiverse very true, however it seems anything Rivals sells will be purely cosmetic and provide no competitive advantage, while DCUO is leaning much more P2W by monetizing game changing things like the Ultimate Tac mods.
Once you play Marvel Rivals and experience how fun it is the last thing in your mind is the costumes. It’s great for new players, you don’t have to grind countless hours trying to level up artifacts or gear. It’s all about how skilled you are. DCUO feels like a big waste of time and boring compared to Marvel Rivals.
@@BoOmBANG_I feel you. I quit like 4 years ago and I was pretty good at it, I always ran elite content and I always kept my character very OP. But yeah just the thought of getting my character back on top, the hours, nah I’m probably never coming back 🪦
DCUO is in my top 5 games but it fell off years ago. It’s not relevant to even be affected by Marvel Rivals. It has its core player base of the same players.
Definitely not dead. The reason many think is dead is cause there are way less elites. So when they request an elite mission no one joins. If they create a new character they will definitely see many joining.
That’s not the problem Multiverse, it actually goes deeper than that if you understand business in general. Marvel Rivals it’s the new flavor in town which like it or not, it’s going to draw some of the DCUO player base away from the game. It truly doesn’t matter if one it’s PVE and the other PVP, since there’s a lot of players who enjoy both genres and play games like Fortnite, Cod, Overwatch, Apex etc. and adding another one to the pile that on top of it scratches some of the superheroe itch, it’s bound to have a very negative effect on the life of a game as old as DCUO. This has happened for many years and you can easily pull up a graph of the player base, and see how after every mayor online game released, the player base dropped significantly. You could even see how empty the game was with the release of Throne and Liberty and New World on console. Sure, a lot of people didn’t like those game but there’s a lot of them that did. The same is happening with Marvel Rivals and this pattern can only go for so long, until the cost of production outweighs the cost of goods sold.
Can't really be considered dead by people when given the fact it's up and going for 14 years now. But as much as people hate PvP, I actually wouldn't go as far to say removing it killed the game. More or less, it's gone under new management, AKA new players...
DCUO had something like Marvel rivals in it's PVP legends system But because of old, outdated physics, graphics and lack of attention or polish given it, it was a lost cause I've told people before that legends was outdated and it needed a mandatory brush up for it to be successful. Instead they invested in the allies system which is... okay I guess? House of Legends is probably the only good thing added to DCUO in a while from my perspective. Sidekicks could use reworking The legends system needs a pickmeup The game needs an new engine at least.
DCUO is dead the only way they can bring it back is to listen to fans/players. Give us what we want. Better PVP more power sets along like superspeed speedster stuff like it's something they should of been added years ago
@Drila11 that's not what I meant. I'm talking about having more and upgraded speed abilities and speed levels because these are outdated and having been touched at all. like we just barely got an increase to speed but we need more and more speed abilities and effects like colored lighting trail. we even need more powers and better PVP and missions tbh
@@akaliimaene2103 I hear you bud but none of that stuff is gonna happen the devs and owners stopped caring for this game years ago it’s just a money grab now
I keep saying this, until Marvel makes a game where we can create and customize our characters from the ground up and fight either alongside or against our favorite heroes and villains like DCUO their RPGs will continue to not have the following nor the longevity DCUO has had.
I'm never gonna quit Dcuo, Multiverse
I mean...in a non-biased POV its sorta comparing apples to oranges.
One is a MMORPG and the other is a MOBA.
I get that.... but still some don't make that distinction. They claim that Marvel Rivals means the end of DCUO.

Looks like fun. I gotta give it a look. Hopefully Dcuo devs take notice and start investing on pvp again 🤷🏻♂️

No one has that info to share yet. :(
If I was to take a guess we won't get any info until Jan 7.
@ bummer. I was hoping it’ll at least be out by January 7th be I don’t think that’s going to happen.
dcuo = mmorpg PVE ... Marvel Rivals = PvP FPS Arena
Ion think yk what fps means
Marvel Rivals is not an mmorpg. And PvP gets old quick in any game if that’s the only thing available.
2 great games,of course Dc is nostalgic and I have a lot of good memories there, but Marvel is also great and I enjoy both.

How can you even compare those games when they are two different genres and rivals just came out while dcuo has been out for years
DCUO you get to make your own hero. Marvel you have to play as one of their heroes. I like to make my own hero.

Absolutely. ;)
Dcuo can't be killed because it's already dead. The number of concurrent players don't lie.
Now that we have Marvel Rivals? I’m pretty sure DCUO has been dead since I was a kid and I’m turning 21 soon 💀
If you say so
I’m not into PvP so it’s not my cup of tea. The Marvel fans are most likely since they can now play their favorite Marvel characters.
I’m staying with DCUO, until Marvel makes a game like DCUO I won’t be playing it
I don't think there will be a game like DCUO anytime soon..... from Marvel or anyone else.
They are very different genres of game, there is no need for comparison
Based on people thinking the 2 games are the same..... it was needed. :)
Rivals reminds me of overwatch, ill play it here and there tho probably die out after a while overwatch isn't that popular no more
