Great tempo...I like Earl Burtnett’s band very much, along with that of Bernie Cummins...top talent in the day.
Earl had a superior sounding band; never ceases to amaze me!

With the Crosby pop juggernaut launched, it would soon become a fearsome task, we must imagine, for a vocalist to take on a song that had been introduced by young Bing, the phenomenon. I'm no fan of tenors, so the anemic Mr. Conklin leaves me, if not cold, certainly not warmed, but the arrangement of this Harry Barris beauty is lovely. The Burnett band is one of my favorites of this period.
1:29 "I may act gay." At least feeble-voiced Mr. Conklin delivers this one line believably. The way he pronounces '𝐬𝐚𝐲' is grating, though, plus he swallows his 𝐫's.

Earl Burtnett had one super star AWESOME Orchestra! This is a GREAT example! I have quite a collection of His Brunswick Records! Have You ever heard His Instrumental versions of " Too Late" and "You`re Not The Same" I have both the vocal and non vocal versions and Instrumental version of "You`re Not The Same" is truly a JAZZY version! Like the laid back version of "I`m Doing That Thing" both were put out for the German market, And are better than the American it seems! "Too Late" is AWESOME both ways! Look up "Oh My My It`s -Courtin` Time" FUN RECORD!

Usual punchy Brunswick sound. Thumbs down to vocalist....especially for reaching that high note at ending!
Bing Crosby changed the face of modetn music. He was the first baritone crooner. Before him most male vocalists were sapranos.
