As a young DJ, all of 20 I was called in at the last minute to MC an oldies revival show at the Yale Bowl. 1973. Gerry Marsden was the very first celebrity I'd ever met, I was told by the promoter of the show, go in and introduce yourself to Gerry. I was terrified. Had watched the band on Ed Sullivan as a kid, now I'm going in to meet him. He could not have been nicer. Lovely, lovely man......
Great song, great guitar chords I love playing this song, Gerry adds sparkle, less so now but he has played it a million times, get the orginal, simply brilliant.
The Richmond Group Earl Preston Realms Michael Allen Gerry and Pacemakers
lol,it got out of style after the sixties, but than it was still acceptable to hold it like that on the chest,The Beatles did the same thing, especially John Lennon with his acoustic guitar..
I'm glad that The Beatles passed this song on to "Gerry and the Pacemakers." It's so right for Gerry Marsdens voice and personality. (Did Gerry Marsden ever passed a song on to "Freddie & the Dreamers" ?)
Freddie and Dreamers tocaram numa casa noturna de Manchester,a canção Like It, entretanto, nem consegui pelo RUclips o show realizado em1965. Neste álbum tem 5 canções ao vivo, inclusiive,Like It
Freddy did write I'm telling you now and You were Made for Me with mitch Murray who wrote How do you do it and I Like It. along with a bunch of other songs like "Hitch en a Ride, Bonnie and Clyde etc.
Drummer Freddie Marsden, born Fredrick John Marsden, 23 November 1940, at 8 Menzies Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, died on 9 December 2006 in Southport, age 66.

Boola Boola!
I've always liked Gerry, seems like a right nice bloke!
He sounds like himself in 1963.
Just love these clips that are neither ancient or present.
Always loved you Gerry a song a laugh and a smile...and we will walk on and on and on... with you

Great vocals.
Rip Gerry , Who Sadly Passed Away Today . gone but certainly not forgotten
I enjoyed your music when i was young and still do being 66 years old now. Your music make me feel young. Peace and love to you Gerry & The Pacemakers
The band that best preserves the authentic, Mersey Beat.
Thank you so much for your contribution to history

GOD BLESS YOU GERRY. SEEN YOU SO MANY TIMES.... YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE...GOD BLESS YOU.....ALL MY 60'S HEROS. GONE.....XX..

Best Liverpool Band ever.
Gerry and the original Pacemakers broke up in 1966..Gerry is the man who is singing...this is the new Pacemakers...who were under 40.
that is good
No one calls me a Bitch...I will report Victor Glannone to Interpol...he will go prison for Harassment.

He’s still amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Gerry finally lengthened his guitar strap so it was no longer on his chest.
:D

It depends on a guitar and its a style
I hold my mine up like his to pay tribute
It's like after 65, they all realized the strap can be adjusted.
I'm glad that The Beatles passed this song on to "Gerry and the Pacemakers."

The bass for this song slaps
Rest in peace Gerry 😥🙏
Lamentavelmente nos deixou
Where would Gerry be if the Beatles hadn't passed on this one in favor of Please Please Me.
George Martin was involved in passing this one over and gave it to Gerry ,
@@kennethwoolard5910 The Beatles didn't want to record it even though George Martin said it would be a hit, and it was.
It was in favor of Love Me Do :) "Instead, "Love Me Do" became their first single." from the wiki page
They still would have made it big because they had a contract by then and were already writing things
@@jamesdunn9714 it may not be clear to folks from these comments but the Beatles did record it but did a poor job intentionally.
so just gerry here and 3 kids
Rest in piece Gerry
thanks for posting this cool video..arent some of these Pacemakers Gerrys sons? Good to see the young lads whoever they are !!
Um deles seria filho de Gerry Mardsen
Great song, but good god those outfits and hair...
The 80s were the worst!
@@QueenFan12 The Smiths foi simplesmente sensacional
Gerry & The Pacemakers > #1 Great Band Merseybeat of Liverpool!!!!
Verdade!
Geez, it's like Gerry & Young Kids .
So?....It's about the music, not age.
R.I.P.
RIP Gerry
Nice oldie
Rip Jerry
Remember, the Beatles passed on this song.
But can still be found on Anthology.
the beatles wrote their own. paul wrote for badfinger
yeah, I like this better than the original giddy performances
RIP Gerry Marsden
Still got it
Gerry you air cool
oh ya
This is the scampy in the basket version .. listen to the original single version , much better ..
What happened to his band, looked like high school kids, that he kept shaking his head in agreement with when they hit a note right..c'mon man...
How does one do it. Me good man?
IT'S GERRY OK BUT WHERES THAT 60'S SOUND AND A DRUMMER PLEASE

don't like the sound, plus music was pre-recorded/played back, none of them were playing, nothing plugged in..
Yeah, I noticed that!...:(
R.I.P Gerry.... ruclips.net/video/yo19bOYiiCg/видео.html
He really let himself go.
OK, now imagine the Beatles doing this show...how awful!
