Where do the roots of our competitive nature come from? how is competition universally promoted and why? I have spent almost a decade searching for these answers by first asking what the correct questions to ask are. Is the friction and conflict of competition a necessary motivator of our species? Has our current value of competition always been the case? Are we living in a time of technological advancements and growth because of these values? is our current progress the result of our evolution towards an ever increasing need to compete? or is our current perspective an illusion we maintain to excuse the tragedies that occurred as a result of an over inflated need to test others against ourselves. One thing is clear,,, all the examples I have seen thus far and searched for suggest something that is obvious enough to see yet hidden enough to overlook, competition is promoted and valued more so by individuals and entities that are already ahead of the game enough to ensure it remains as such whether you run the race play the match or not. To teach someone a game in the hopes of stimulating a need to compete which has been the strategy throughout history is also knowing before hand that once they have invested the time to learn it that individual or entity will be at the bottom of that table or league suiting to merely boost the egos of the people who have been playing long before your arrival.. In this way a game becomes a pyramid structured scheme pushing fewer and fewer people to the top by investing in building a constant supply of people at the bottom i.e.,,,,, as long as there are beginners the winners with always continue to win with an exponentially increasing level of success. This example is the true value of competition that we seem to have no awareness of as we support our team year after year with fleeting amounts of success.. The reality that we unconsciously ignore is that it is only the individuals at the top of any one league that are actually winning whilst the others merely suit to be the engine used to pull more people into the mass delusion of one day reaching the top of their game. In this way humanities desire to win is actually the force that ensures we all lose to a select few who know this reality and use it to its full potential to maintain control...SILLY FEET,,,
