Mist breathing is a bunch of trick attacks. It causes people to see illusions of Muichiro. He isn't actually moving.
In episode 4 of hashira training arc, we see him trick Sanemi and then "teleport" behind him. He was never infront of sanemi in the first place. That was the illusion from mist breathing.

It's also why he got no diffed by Kokushibo. Anyone with Transparent World is immune to the illusion.

The way the fights went is very similar to the demon slayer video game
Gyomei was the one who was clashing with kokoshibo while sanemi would jump in and do some damage but not take incredibly strong blows too often
Sanemi also wasn’t able to keep fighting as long as giyuu was
Sanemi fought upper one and was plunged into a fight with a significantly weakened Muzan
But let’s not forget almost directly after fighting akaza giyuu was able to dead calm and block a less weakened Muzan’s attacks with a broken sword
Also he was constantly using dead calm which is one of the most physically draining techniques in demon slayer requiring him to slow his own heart down
Sanemi was unable to keep fighting after Muzan attacked them with his “final move” however giyuu was able to keep moving and even had enough energy to pin down Muzan with tanjiro and even then had enough energy to pin down DKT
Giyuu has the best endurance of any hashira and the best durability
We do also have to take into consideration that water breathing is significantly less energy consuming (besides eleventh form) than some of the others due to it’s fluidity and easy way to use it however you want
But because that is his main fighting style it counts towards endurance
Giyuu may not have been a heavy hitter during the Muzan fight but it’s more energy consuming to block attacks than to throw them especially from someone stronger than you and that’s just a physics fact

It takes significantly more energy to stop and attack than to throw one out

Giyuu takes most stats

Iq is arguable but I give it to Giyuu as he doesn’t let his heart or emotions get in the way while obanai does which can be a good thing but doesn’t help him a whole lot vs Muzan (considering it’s what got him killed)

Skill is arguable due to him being one of the few who created his own breathing technique however I would give it to giyuu because as stated by tanjiro he has full and complete mastery over all forms of water breathing meaning they take the least energy and do the most damage they possibly could

@@MORT3N23 first of all, akaza was mid diffing both tanjiro who was at hashira level and giyu. Akaza was still winning so easily and that makes giyu so weak. And actually he did take rest until tanjiro woke up. They were chilling with fire and infinity castle to take rest after akaza fight. Not to mention, giyu didn't do shit to muzan and got his ass saved by obanai otherwise he would have died. He didn't do anything to muzan after his sword broke. I don't believe in assumptions. I believe in feats and according to feats obanai > giyu. Cry about that.
And for senemi, his feats are wayyyyy better than giyu's. He litrally took an attack head on that was impossible to survive according to kokushibo. Then he fought alongside gyomie after taking that devastating attack. Just after fighting a long battle with koku, they didn't took any rest unlike giyu and went to fight muzan immediately.
Point to be noted is that giyu fought akaza and senemi fought kokushibo and upper 1 can no diff upper 3. There is no comparison according to their feats. Litrally no comparison.

I think Sanemi should get experience because he was hunting demons before he was even a demon slayer and he did it in a very unique way with no sword. And at the time I believe giyu was only getting trained by his teacher(forgot his name) and he was not that good at killing demons before his friends died as we know. Also giyu is equal to Sanemi in physical strength not strength.

That was during the hashira training arc. Sanemi and obanai are built different in infinity castle arc. Sanemi was literally going toe-toe with kokoshibo and that was without mark. Muichiro didn't even see one attack from kokoshibo. Muichiro can definitely become stronger in a given time but that didn't happen sadly

Personally tbh sanemi will lose this fight,
Sanemi is an aggressive personality although he’s strong, he won’t have enough stamina to fight the other 2 hashiras, if he fights Giyuu first then it’s obvious Giyu wins based off stamina endurance and speed, sanemi if wins he would aggressively fight the other 2 Hashiras who would prolly team up on him.
