One clarification. Not all the Stealth rubber is made the same 😅 They have different compounds within the same name. The Trailcross have Stealth Phantom (65a durometer, the lower the stickier) almost the best you can find in approach/mountain bike shoes. The Stealth S1 (64a durometer) in their old approach shoes (Access or Tennies series) felt very similar. The Stealth C4 though felt way less sticky (76), my Terrex Voyager DLX I think had that version too. For extreme conditions (climbing waterfalls, very polished wet rocks) there was a clear difference for me between the two. Vibram Idrogrip might be better than C4. Nothing better than the Stealth Phantom or S1 that I have ever tested. Apologies for the loooong explanation. I agree that this is a great water adventure shoe if you are OK with the stiff midsole.
Thanks for the recomendation, I love my 510's bought a pair for wifey hitting 7 teacups this weekend can't wait to use them again. Jesse, have you checked out the South Yuba River park? or been on the south yuba? Thanks again
Kia ora Jesse thanx for the shout out in your prem that was cool, didn't actually know you did prems I just happened to be on my fone at work when I got the notification...lol anyway not sure if you mentioned it but being addidas I'm guessing expensive , anyway you and sam keep cool brother till next time stay safe🇳🇿🤙
Hey Jesse I just bought these shoes for me and the wife for our camping trip to rock creek in plumas national Forrest. I’m looking for similar shoes for our seven year old daughter. Too bad adidas doesn’t make them in her size. A you please recommend a comparable shoe for kids? I was looking at Columbia OmniGrip. Any insight from the King would be greatly appreciated!
Hey, Jesse, that's American business for you: if it sells well, discontinue it, lol, and I cannot stop laughing. No, I have seen this before and I cannot figure it out; it makes no sense to me. I spent an hour looking for that Adidas shoe you suggested last year or so. Not available or sold out. So yeah folks, if this is the shoe for you and your adventures, buy it now...before it is disontinuted due to interest and popular demand. Best of good things to you and Sam as always. Love you guys.
Thanks Jim!! I don't get it either. They should hire me to market the Stealth rubber shoes they make because I really don't think they understand their own products.
@@JesseStLouis exactly and we are on rocks most of the time so I think I'm going to try out your recommendation as my brewers wore out fast. I live near Moulton Fallls , I was wondering if you could give me a hint on that drop south of me where you recommend a suit.
I recently scored a couple of pairs of 510 mountain biking shoes at Burlington coat factory for a 3rd of the price they had several different styles they might have some of those there.
Why wouldn't you recommend for whitewater kayaking? Sticky rubber is exactly what I need for scrambling around on wet rock while scouting rapids or climbing out of canyons when shit hits the fan
Ah OK. I just got a pair of these based of this review because they seem perfect. Going to take them on a 2 week alpine creeking trip running class 4/5 in Europe so I'll drop a comment on how they hold up. Astrals are fashionable in the whitewater world but since they don't come with stealth rubber anymore the grip has decreased a lot and they generally fall apart way too quickly in my opinion. I used the Adidas Terrex Voyagers before but I found the same issues as you with the Upper being way too fragile
It's advertised as a mountain biking shoe online, not a water shoe. Don't see in any description about water draining. Am I tripping or am I seeing it correctly?
Have you tried any of Tropicfeel shoes? Just curious how would these compare? I made a review of Tropicfeel Sunsets. For similar-ish activities (less advance I would say) ruclips.net/video/yGifu9PqCOA/видео.html

How do you find this for transition hiking... Scree-> Creeks -> bouldering ?
I think I'll be going for the hightop... there are a few other newer 510 models that look promising as well...
I find it great
@@Ashley_Schaeffer my wife has the hightops and loves them. They have drainage too!
What is the sizing like? Should you go down a half size for better grip control or is it best to keep a norma fit?
They fit pretty snug so I usually go up a size, especially if you're going to be wearing neoprene socks

🙌🤙glad to hear that!!
Any other suggestions for some lower price??
Bro...Thanks for the review...help me make a decision...but I got to know...Who Makes Those Shades?????
Lol, they are Dot Dash ishizz polarized
Hey Jesse, long time fan, just checking when you are coming back to the Yuba River. And remember find your adventure and infamous.
Not sure when but I absolutely love it up there? How is it after the fires?

I would only recommend something with Stealth Rubber everything else is inferior
Thanks Jesse, the moist rocks and caves in France won't know what hit'm this year! 😂
🤣🙌
What socks are the best to wear with these? I just ordered the shoes, they should be here next week! 😊
@@exploringthetributaries643 depends on how cold the water is. Either 2 or 3mm neoprene or a synthetic quick dry or thin wool athletic sock
Can you wear them for water aerobics in the swimming pool?
That's not my area of expertise
@@JesseStLouis Thank you for your videos. I like the ones where you go to the caves, they are very exciting and scary for your safety too.
@@fayesylvester435 hopefully some more caves in the US coming soon

I'll be back there probably at the end of the summer

How do these compare to Astrals models? Brewer, Hyak etc
My kayak and whitewater friends love Astrals however they are in boats most of the time.

I love that Stealth Rubber. It's a shame Adidas bought out 5.10. Now you can't find Stealth Rubber resole kits anywhere.

Mainly because I'm not a whitewater kayaker and all my buddies that are love their Astrals, so...
