How are we the problem, by highlighting how problematic their lyrics are? Why has there been such a progressive change in lyrical output in one major direction, that gets most of the major financial push? Do you really think ignoring those important dynamics is going to correct the imbalance? No, it won't, I have to strongly disagree with your statement that our conversation is the problem here.
The weakest link(s) as you put ‘them’, are promoted in the extreme, the stronger links as you frame them have less of a chance of gaining important exposure, because money talks. And if you have next to no exposure, how can people know of your talents? That is our point, if you haven’t watch the full video, to hear the whole conversation about Hip Hop Music & Culture, as opposed to the exploitations and biases of the Rap Music Industry, then I suggest you do. The link to the full conversation is in the description field.
