I really appreciate how genuine these videos are. As somebody in college who feels like they've been lagging behind their whole life, it's really comforting hearing someone talk about really similar things. Like there's so many things I don't know, and I'm incredibly lucky to not be on my own yet since my college is like 10-15 minutes away from my house. But like I'm still a need who plays Smash and Pokémon and all that. Growing up isn't about abandoning what made you happy, it's about thanking it for how it made you who you are, and loving it all the same. Watching these is just sorta cathartic. I've never been into like storyline sorta content either, you're like the only one. (Also hearing you say you're a Smash player made me pop off ❤)
Just wanted to say that I relate heavily to your adhd situation. I’m 17 and got diagnosed last year and no one would have ever known if I hadn’t have related to a video on the internet. Once you got diagnosed, finding someone who can help you get medicated is extremely helpful because it makes life no joke 10x easier. Good luck!

I STRUGGLE to sleep so bad, cause my brain throws out random thoughts one after the other, from embarrassing memories to a cool TV show I just watched, it will not let up until I am so physically tired until I conk out. You're also on point about not being able to focus on things you don't care about

Over where I live, school is actually pretty helpful, as there are classes to teach us about tax evasion, and credit scores, how to buy a house, all of that, which I took last year. There are other classes but I consider the financial one to be the most helpful out of any.
It is INSANE how much stuff you talked about I can relate to. From our views on school, our problems in class, our disininterest in dating, hell we both have an interest in art and writing and played brawl stars and smash bros at school. I think the only major difference is that when I moved out I moved in with my grandparents, and I definitely wouldn't say I've become a real adult yet despite turning 20 in November this year.

I finally had time to watch this video and it has made me realize that me and high school Nubbz are the exact same person. As a person with diagnosed ADHD and autism I have only around 3-4 friends that I talk to and have always been the kid who is just known for being the best at Brawl in the school. Other than that nobody really knows who I am unless they are in a lot of my classes, and then they just constantly ask me questions about the class because nobody really pays attention except for me lol (most of the time anyway.) Anyways this is a really great video and I am happy that someone I idolize has had very similar experiences to me, makes it a bit more bearable! Keep up the great work Charles!
mann i relate. i could act like a straight As student on a certain lesson but if the topic was boring, no matter how much i could try to focuse, no way id remember a single thing. i always do bad at Polish or history 'cause the topics are never interesting enough!!
Not going to lie, I relate to a lot of things that you said about ADHD(I actually went with my mom to see if I actually had it and we are going again in like a week, it's not a process you do in one session i think) and I think I 100% have it, but what is weird to me is that I never really had bad grades. I was a straight A student till like 6th grade of elem(like middle school 1st or 2nd grade), and have only been getting a few Bs and Cs, finishing with almost perfect scores. There is so much more to ADHD than just attention difficulties and school struggles. I highly duggest to anyone who thinks they have ADHD to do a deep dive into the nitty gritty of ADHD symptoms and behaviours. Wish you find the best solution to your problems because in some countries, mental health isn't recognized almost at all(like in my country).

This is so true, I cannot focus in school especially Math. I pass with a bare minimum of D and I actually try to pay attention but I just can’t focus at all even if I tried to. But in other subject such as Psychology its so much easier for me to focus since its much more interesting and I have a passion for it.

I've never related so hard to a story in my life. I got diagnosed with ADHD as a senior in highschool and am now on medication and i cannot recommend it enough! I didn't know i could focus so hard. The only issue is that i can focus on one thing doesn't mean i will stay focused on what i need to be doing.

Hey, i just wanna drop my opinion on education system, I'm studying medicine right now and i opted a science major in high school, and i really thought, why do i need to learn physics, chemistry, maths if im just going to learn biology and medicine, but turns out school really forms the base of everything! Concepts I learned in physics and biochemistry apply so much when I'm learning medicine, like laplace law for respiratory disease, fick law , total internal reflection for ophthalmology, chemistry for radiation, isotopes in radiology etc i can go on and on So yeah, school is kinda important for basic cognitive development, even though it might not seem helpful, So if you don't want a smooth brain, stay in school kids 🤓☝️ (Not disregarding the good points you made, stuff about taxes and how to buy a house, or not get scammed should be definitely in the curriculum! )
There was a weird class I took( I forgot the name) it was optional essentially it taught how to use math in real life situations and one lesson was how to increase credit score within the pre-set budget and along with what having a credit score means for the housing market and other stuff. But the problem is still that it was an optional class.
It almost felt like the whole video is about me lol And yeah, so many people say that school needs to teach stuff that you actually need, but no, you must learn everything but not that

I will say the pipeline from Highschool to College to Adult is significantly better at preparing you for Adult life. Of course it isn’t an option for everybody, nor is it the right option for everybody.

I have finished high school this year and I don’t even know how to apply to college because they didn’t teach me that😭 the system is just awful we have too many classes a year there’s no thing as skip or choose class you like,all the classes where stupid we learn about (Linguistic competencies, English, Mathematics, Biology, Digital Technology, Critical Thinking, Environmental Science, Physics, Physical Education, professional, Islamic studies interpretation, Modern Islamic Studies, Chemistry, Social Studies) and that’s was only for the first year💀 they keep learning as things that doesn’t matter in life at all and most of them was for career and some classes in the last year was for college not high schoolers and not just that we only have 1 month vacation 😭💀💀😭💀💀😭💀 11 months of study and waking up at 6 am and leave at 12-1pm in top of that in the summer its HELL, the most cold degree we have in summer always between 39-42 degrees 🔥 (103-107F) also we are in Muslim country which is the ramadan month is important but guess what WE GO TO SCHOOL IN RAMADAN WTF And not to mention that we have 40 Volunteer hours THAT YOU NEED TO DO OR OTHER THEN THAT YOU CAN’T GRADUATE. (Also There’s something funny so we have PE classes but our school don’t have place for it so the teachers just put a youtube video of someone playing sport 😭😭😭😭)

I have finished high school this year and I don’t even know how to apply to college because they didn’t teach me that😭 the system is just awful we have too many classes a year there’s no thing as skip or choose class you like,all the classes where stupid we learn about (Linguistic competencies, English, Mathematics, Biology, Digital Technology, Critical Thinking, Environmental Science, Physics, Physical Education, professional, Islamic studies interpretation, Modern Islamic Studies, Chemistry, Social Studies) and that’s was only for the first year💀 they keep learning as things that doesn’t matter in life at all and most of them was for career and some classes in the last year was for college not high schoolers and not just that we only have 1 month vacation 😭💀💀😭💀💀😭💀 11 months of study and waking up at 6 am and leave at 12-1pm in top of that in the summer its HELL, the most cold degree we have in summer always between 39-42 degrees 🔥 (103-107F) also we are in Muslim country which is the ramadan month is important but guess what WE GO TO SCHOOL IN RAMADAN WTF And not to mention that we have 40 Volunteer hours THAT YOU NEED TO DO OR OTHER THEN THAT YOU CAN’T GRADUATE.
(Also There’s something funny so we have PE classes but our school don’t have place for it so the teachers just put a youtube video of someone playing sport 😭😭😭😭)

Am pretty sure i have ADHD but,i told my friends and said no way,that if I had it all of us would,am too shy to tell my mom,and my teacher once explained about ADHD and i will be like “yep sounds like me”i forgot things easily,its hard to sleep,and i love playing brawl stars,my brain goes like “you should play brawl stars NOW” even tho i know its bad for me,i meed to study,even my friends tell me that,some people think ADHD is good,i will just tell “nah its not”
Don't worry nubbz everywhere in the world the school system is outdated and usseles. First few grades you learn everything you need and then they teach you a bunch of stuff that you will never need in your life and waste your time, money and sanity.
