The Transitional Nature Of Sheep Farming

  • Today's sheep farming video demonstrates how things are forever evolving at Ewetopia Farms. As lambs are born and mature, things on a sheep farm naturally have to adapt to these changes. We see how an injured lamb can overcome the odds with patient nurturing. We watch as ewes and their lambs bond and then are prepared to leave their bonding pens ready to start the next part of their journey living in the flock. Other lambs have progress to where they will be weaned from both their mothers or their bottles, as the case may be. Adult ewes can be moved on to other farms to make way for younger lambs to take their place. Transitions are an ever-present part of farmlife.

Good morning Arnie and Lynn. Look at mama go in circles. Aww. A couple of beautiful lambs. Good job Casanova. The sheep are smart. They say I don’t need my wool washed. 😂😂😂😂. Glad that Angel stayed. Sweetheart for sure. Arnie seems like he is enjoying his cordless clippers. They made doing a little clipping when necessary easier. Max so wants together in there. Hard for him to curb his enthusiasm. Oh my gosh Spartacus is living up to his name as a little warrior. Yay!!! He says you love my cuddles mushy lips and all. So glad you got the truck back. Wow big expenses. A nice drink sounds just right. Relax. Thanks for the information about the sheep today. Big big hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😉😉😉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love how white and fluffy the ewes are after Arnie’s shearing 😋 Spartacus will
need a special farm. Why are the adorable and needy newborns little rams? I already fell in love with him!!

I don't blame you for having a drink after seeing bills like those!😢 I feel for farmers faced with such astronomical overhead trying to manage their finances! We own and operate an automatic transmission repair shop and prices continue to rise. Making sure every expense is accounted for can be maddening!! As always thanks for sharing your days with us. Spartacus reminds me of a new kitten walking along.😂 He's just precious!! Stay safe guys!!🙏❤

Yes, output costs are enormous in farming with revenue barely keeping up; if it even is! Yes, he sure does look like a newborn kitten on wobbly legs 😁

Sparticus really was moving faster than before! That is so cool! Your little 'victim' totally didn't see it coming lol! The girls look so cute and healthy too. It must be fun to pet them. I hope that Arnie can plant the corn soon! Wow did those sheep ever want that grain! They lined up so fast. It's nice that they can come in out of the rain when they want to. I did t know that there were more Suffolks than Dorsets in Canada.Sparticus is doing so well now! He is a funny boy! You figured out the smartest way of getting that mama through that gate. She really loves her lambs. I'm so glad that your truck is finally fixed and that you got your seed. Sorry it cost so much. Thank you for another great video. See you tomorrow.❤🐑

Have your regular shearers gone on strike? I am forced to observe that although Arnie's efforts are admirable, the results are... Well... "Artistic". 🫣 I can't wait to learn how you tattoo a Lamb's ear. Racehorse tattoos are quite the operation, as they are applied to the inside of the upper lip.

Arnie is a shearer in training! With a creative flair!🤣🤣🤣 Professional shearers are very hard to get. Watch last year's shearing videos for some typical examples 😆 Hopefully shearing in a few days and tattooing after crops! Always busy!🙂

Wow, wee Spartacus has really improved! I hope he can go with his mom soon.
The 4-H kids will get some gorgeous lambs no matter what breed they choose. All are stunners. Do they usually pick rams or is it fairly even between rams and ewes?
Scotty looked like he was getting invaded in the holding pen, lol!
    Another super video, Lynn 🥰

4H kids only take ewe lambs. I am not even sure if they have ram lamb classes. Probably, they feel that ewe lambs are safer for handling than the ram lambs
