Something really good to do with any champ is, when you know your about to hit lvl 6 before the enemy go in just about the minion that's going to give you lvl 6 is about to die and get lvl 6 mid fight
I just started playing Sylas recently and I was already doing some of the things he was doing but I'm going to adopt some of the things he does. I didn't expect Sylas to be as fun as he is until recently.
Commenting here for the algorithm. Gonna keep doing it until 100K :) It's kinda strange how I didn't have this video on my recommended. Despite the fact that not only do I watch every one of your videos but also leave a comment as well. I've just had your Irelia video pop up out of nowhere and was like "Huh, it's been a while since I last checked out this channel, let's see if there is something new". RUclips be pretty weird sometimes. Ok, I know I've talked about this a lot but goddamn, even Chovy is playing a high mobility assassin now, lol (the guy whose favorite champs are Cassiopeia, Zoe and Galio, at least according to Leaguepedia). But still, him having a 70% winrate Sylas is nothing to sneeze at, and no OP champion will carry you this much. Realistically I could see him having around 60% on a balanced or weak champion, which would still be insanely impressive. I just wish that the ult stealing ability wouldn't have ended up on an unhealthy and impossible to balance champ like Sylas, but it is what it is. As for the actual strategies, they're pretty damn interesting, not gonna lie. The W-E-Q skill order is something I've seen used by Hashinshin out of all people, and for the most part I can see why maxing E second would be so valuable (it's more impactful than Q in fights, so it's much better to reduce the CD on E instead). Also that thing he did with the Tristana at 1:54 is absolutely not a Sylas specific tip, but something you can apply to a lot of different champions (I do it regularly with Swain and Senna, for instance). You should always try to use your hardest to hit skillshot when the enemy has limited space to move, which was shown perfectly in that clip, since the Tristana could only dodge backwards around her tower, while if she would be in the middle of the lane with a bunch of minions and full HP, she would have much more options. Another thing to note there is that Chovy used his Q first before throwing out the E, which is something I would also recommend since that tiny slow could sometimes be the difference between a hit or a miss. Oh and btw, thanks for saying that Sylas clearly needs to be nerfed! I just love it when educational channels like you or SkillCapped go like "yeah, we're here to focus on breaking down players and how to play good buuuuut this champ should probably not be able to do this...". Makes Riot balancing seem like a bunch of clowns, lol.

I call this the yorick and amumu experience. Never been meta past 3 years. Suddenly gets a buffs and is pick or ban and then nerfed to the ground.and after the nerfs they are worse than before the buff. At least the issue with kayle were the items not the minor buff she got now she is balanced

If they are exactly on 50%, that means they are perfectly balanced whether people like it or not. I personally have champions I hate with a passion that are under 50% and actually need buffs to my disbelief, but everything is based on statistics and if they say Sylas is balanced, it means Riot will not touch him.

Fiddle and hecarim have been the highest for so long but I wouldn't call them straight broken (they're still S tier). Sylas goes beyond that in the hands of anyone who can pilot him. If riot looks at win rates to determine what champs need to be nerfed or buffed, which I wouldn't be surprised if they did, then that just proves what everyone says about them being a garbage incompetent company.

As a Sylas main, i kinda like Faker’s version of Sylas where you max q first because you can safely poke enemy mid laner and you wouldn’t need to go in and out for trades. But hey if your rank 1, it got him at rank 1 for a reason. Sylas can be played in so many ways and that’s why I like him so much

I’m curious what kind of nerfs should Sylas receive ? A lot to of people I’ve talked to in the high elo community, masters +, think he’s in a pretty decent spot. Very strong but has glaring weaknesses. I personally don’t think he needs a nerf. I’ve played many games where Sylas seems underwhelming and I’ve played games where he feels like he needs a nerf, but overall I think he’s in a good spot. Maybe a slight nerf but nothing to drastic. Lmk if anyone has thoughts on his position in the meta

Its definitely annoying and arguably bad game design, like you are in the middle of a trade, sylas presses W and now he won the trade by *THIS* much. Normally you buy healing reduction for sylas and/or ignite him when going for an all in.
@@spolo3 It's not. It's just the sheer amount of it in the game these days due to nearly all the new champs having built in healing, or building heavy omnivamp/ lifesteal. And if it isn't one of those there's also multiple sustain runes to pick from. In Sylas's case it's just press W before the trade is over and you just won it with minimal effort on your end.

Yauso, yone, fiora, irelia, renekton, mundo, aatrox, vladimir, anyone who can build a vamp scepter in lane, all outheal sylas easily. In lane, sylas only heals once, and only heals while trading. That's why last season he had to rely on corrupting potion, biscuits, and timewarp. He has no built-in sustain outside of W. Meanwhile any AD champ has doran's blade by default and can easily rush a vamp scepter.
I love that in higher elo, your allies usually don't hold their abilities/dmg to try to ks. They just insta use everything to kill the enemy asap. Seems like common sense right?
Nah the noobs first timing him in ranked will only artificially lower his winrate. While sylas is not the hardest champ, he isnt that straightforward either. He'll still get nerfed because of proplay tho
