Crazy how something that seems so complicated is actually quite simple. Good stuff as always

Before I view the Part 2 of “Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love)” I have listened Ms. Ella Fitzgerald who sang the song several times. (She did a great performance.) Then, after viewed your video lesson I absolutely agree with on “chromatic connection” for improvisation. It will make the music more interesting and captive because of its repetitions. I love the chord progression from Bb6 -D7(#5) - Gm6 where melody line stays the same note (Bb). Very inspiring lesson, much appreciated, Dan. 👍👍

    I love this lesson.
Dipping my toes in improvisation and hadnt had any luck so far.
Lots of lessons on teaching scales and modes, which i am quite confident with playing as a technical exercise but, there was always so many bum notes when I tried improvising using the scale.
You saying to focus on chord tones with a few extras allowed me to play something that actually sounded good for once. Well... Atleast like music.
Any good exercises i could practice so that I can spot the chord tones quickly in my right hand when changing chord with the left ?
I know how to play the chords, but for some reason it takes my brain a bit longer to pick them out as notes to improvise with.
I guess maybe just playing different chord progressions and improvising with those tones ?
