Great video as always, Dan! Thanks to your tips I changed my graphic settings and my iR went from 523 to 581 in less than a week because I finally clearly see the other cars I'm about to crash into
I followed this step by step the entire way through, and I'm absolutely blown away with the night and day difference. It looks, at least for my set up, like iRacing is using a completely different graphics engine. Very thankful and much appreciated, sir.
Quick tip, on 1:12 nVidia panel, if you play other games that requiere other graphics settings, you can click on "Program Settings" instead of "Global Settings" to make it behave like that only for iRacing
Dan thanks so much. I see you have moved back from the monitors a little. I wear glasses and with my prescription It was very hard to get that close. Please keep the videos coming and congratulations on becoming a father!
You are a legend. This has transformed the visuals of iRacing for me. I just have to find a compromise in the graphics settings to allow my rtx3090 run my triple 34 inch monitors in triple digit fps
Dan you can specify to have just the rearview screen on. If you set max mirrors to 1 and there’s a screen it will be the only thing on. The order is screen(if exists otherwise rearview), left, right, rearview as you increased max mirror count. You will have to turn the mirrors off for cars that don’t have a screen though.
I know in iRacing’s latest developers video on RUclips they mentioned they have a team working on the next generation or updated iRacing graphics engine. I wonder how much that’ll improve things, unless it’s just tweaks here and there.
New dx12 engine, they succès to import tracks and few others things but non shader ATM, but it's going thé right way I think, can't wait next years of iRacing updates
My game stutters immediatly when i play with the iracing window active or fullscreen , if I click on another program (window) I have no issues . Very annoying
how do you get such a high frame rate? I have a 4070ti, I9-9900k. When I watch my stats as I turn up the settings I can see the GPU hit 99% but my CPU is in the 50's so I'm not CPU bound. When I set the settings to what you have I get FR of 54. If I slide the slider all the way to Max FR in iRacing I averate 144-160 and sometimes hit 200 but that's with everything totally turned down.
Very good settings-video Dan 👍🏼 I run basicly same settings, only less visible cars just because i don´t notice it anyway, so just less taxing to render. But LOD settings ingame should probably not be set to OFF.. Apparently setting it to OFF disables the «new» way to do LOD, and enables the old LOD coding which is not good at all.. So i keep it at -world and -car, at a low number 90fps (i run cap 141, and rarely see sub 110.)
This is such a great video, Dan, and super useful. I'm going to try out ReShade tonight. Quick question: As I've been experimenting with this, are you running GSYNC only and no VSYNC? I also noticed you didn't have a cap on frames in iRacing. I'm just curious what you've settled on now and is working best for you.
@DanSuzuki I can copy these settings and they will work ok with triples and a Ryzen 7 7700X/4080 Super? Asking because during the Indy 6 hour over the weekend my fps was sometimes dipping into the 40's.
Hi Dan. How is 390-400 fps possible at these settings? I have 4090 and 13900KS. I made the same settings as you. I see 130 fps with reshade turned on in the cockpit. When I turn off reshade I see 145 fps. I have a 3 screen 1440p setup. Are you using Nvidia surround?
I also have a stuttering problem. Even though I tried many things, I couldn't solve the problem. A solution is being sought in the forum and in many videos, but it has not been fixed yet.
I just copied you as I went along, using a 57” Samsung 1000R (VA Panel) at 7680x2160 and it looks great! I can never get this monitor setup properly, I run at 120Hz and cap at 121Hz in iRacing - my entire graphics settings are as yours. Minus the 3 screens. But I’m getting flickering shadows and general aliasing (slight) plus distance pop ups. Do you think I should drop iRacing down to 5120x1440 and configure a single curved screen at 1000R + real measurements of the display and view distance? What do you think? Thanks man - love your channel and Discord ❤
Dan I really enjoyed your video thanks for sharing this info. I was hoping you could provide some advice. I have recently returned to iracing after a few years and looking to upgrade my graphics card. My current system is a Intel i5 3570K 3.40 GHZ, 16gb ram, and a Radeon HD7700 1024mb card. What would your suggestion be for a card update? I may go with triples in the future but just want to get the most benefit with my current Dell 2724D monitor. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Dan, if you install reshade for iracing for use with a monitor and then you run in VR, does having reshade installed have a negative impact on the VR session?
This work great in VR with OpenXR Reshade install. Only thing i changed is that i disabled Iracing HDR. Looks better for me since you already use a HDR from Reshade.
I would recommend it. Will just look a bit better and since iRacing can't render a curved canvas it will look a bit better. It also will cost performance though (not insignifcant) ... if your PC can handle it I would recommend triple rendering.
My only concern here is how taxing all these changes that were made on the video card and how will it respond. I don't have a super big Nvidia card, I have an RTX 2060 Super 8GB card so wondering if these changes would be to much for the card?
Only one way to find out - try it out :) can always revert back to old settings if it doesn’t work for you - reshade can be uninstalled super quickly as well using the same installer tool
I am havig permissions issues when I launch iRacing. My attempt to modify the foler permissions have failed. Did you run into this issue and were you able to fix it?
A pity that I am on HDR monitors and Reshade completely messes up the interface, making text be barely readable. This did not use to happen when I was poor. Suffering from success I guess lol

Tried these settings and my rain fps is still struggling. I tried ssr low - rain only and my fps is in the 40-60 range in the wet. I have a rtx4070. Any ideas on what to change for rain to get better fps? No rain fps is good
Monitors run at 120hz for me since that looks a bit better for the capture - I usually recommend to cap frames 3 below the refresh rate (don’t ask why 😅)
@DanSuzuki ha I'll try that, it couldn't hurt. iRacing did something with an update recently that is really affecting my frame rate. I was getting 160s and higher with most everything maxed out. Now it has dropped 30fps

I had a terrible issue with guardrails and other objects shimmering and reshade cured that. A massive graphics improvement with a minor fps hit.

Great for monitors. Is there a VR solution for reshade?
How much of this applies to VR?
You should try reflex to enabled only, enabled + boost gives lower fps, test it for yourself
