random question(I'm not trying to argue, I'm just curious): doesn't Layla's C4 only work for one attack? best for a character with a mutli-hit charged attack like Ayaka, but there aren't many of those. I don't get how that is more valuable than Diona's 200 EM buff that lasts 12 seconds

As a fanboy of specific characters, I am angry, offended, frustrated, rage crying, and hyperventilating whenever someone says they don't prefer my characters.
In regards to Ayato, I like using him as a hyperbloom driver. Him having both on field and off field hydro as well as giant AoE makes him comfy in that role, and he lets me use both XQ and Yelan in Tao team other side.
Yes! That's exactly how I use Ayato. Ayato + Raiden + Nahida + flex slot (usually Zhongli or Kazuha). Use Raiden skill, use Nahida skill, pop Zhongli's shield, and then use Ayato to drive hyper bloom. It's a heck of a team.
I think Dendro drivers are better for Dendro teams because you get more seeds when Dendro hits Hydro compared to other way around EDIT: except for Burgeon of course
He probably saw his video xD But to be honest i have both c6 90 and really good build and i basically almost ever prever Layla over Diona. The only thing Diona is way better if when you try out to maximize Benny Burst DMG for a big nuke
@@jetkirby3981 Yeah Sometimes for double cryo, but i also really like Some freeze for my DPS Yelan. Layla Deals also pretty good DMG, even without Shenhe my Layla with crownd Burst and C6 (HoD) deals arround 7-9K per Q hit ever 1 or 2 sec, i think that’s really good for a Shielder with HP/HP/HP crit build
I think a second account really highlights this. I built the national team right away, as well as Yelan. Short term I plan on tazer with heizou being the second team until I get units that will really determine a direction to go in. Freeze is also a great early game second team. However, XL without C4 does feel kinda bad. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t have good artifacts yet.
XL is ok pre-C4 - I recall I still 36* for the first time without it back in 3.3, but it was horrible with like a 100 chamber restarts. For great new account teams, you can basically do whatever you want these days. The most obvious f2p setup is Fischl Yaoyao Beidou Sucrose on one half and any form of national on the other. But with all the mid 4 stars Hoyo keeps releasing, it might actually take a while for a new account to get all these good ones
@@ponderingfox Yeah, aggravate is all about Fischl. The rest is flexible. I guess I also ignored the Hyperbloom elephant in the room in my previous post. Kuki Shinobu and Dendro MC can carry the whole account a long way even with Barbara as the driver. I think the trick for new accounts to become meta quickly is to get lucky with a "broken" unit (Fischl, Bennett or Kuki) and then use primogems to get the 5* units that work with them
Here's a challenge for you, Jello: make 10 viable teams with the characters you have, with the condition that none of the 40 characters can be used more than once or shifted to different parties. (Shifting equipment is fine.) Can you 36-star the abyss with all 10 of your teams?

I swore he'd fall off or something but I love applying dendro to whoever I want and them not standing right outside Traveler's AoE. Hearing you say he works there is such a relief.
I'm so mad I was taking a break from the game when Tighnari's banner ran... He's probably the only Dendro character I care to build... Hoping to get him eventually on the standard...
Sayu is probably my most used character in the game. Best character for the overworld, great for domains to get you into the fight fast and a decent healer and VV user. Rolling around at the speed of sound never gets old.
I like her too, but it depends on each people's experience with the game, i had her c6 pretty fast so her kit was fully functional and i never got Jean so, her role was sort of unique
This is probably just my depression talking, but I LOVE that you emphasize playing our own favorite characters and give suggestions on how to make that happen. Your videos have changed my gameplay for the better, and made this game even more enjoyable for me.
This was a really interesting video, although due to the nature of the beast we call "gacha" we don't start out with every character and then pick and choose which ones we want to build. We don't know what characters will be useful over an extended period of time. After all, when Genshin was still in its first year Qiqi and Diluc were prized characters and pre-2.0 content creators were saying Kazuha was a skip. Furthermore, the characters you might reject now are also the ones that got you through the early game. Barbara got me through 40 adventure ranks easily, and Keqing was my most used character year-one. These days I pop them into teams only when I am feeling nostalgic, but I don't regret building them.
Same here; barbs and keqing were my most-used when i needed a decent hyperbloom team for pre-AR45 content. only major difference is i got nahida in the same 10-pull that got me keqing, so i didnt have to use DMC at all.
The idea of skipping Barbara for Kokomi blew me away. Sure, I haven't used Barbara since I got Kokomi, but Kokomi is a limited 5 star. Potentially going months without Barbara, just because "I'll grab Kokomi later" seems painful.
@@Vgy1592 Yeah, totally. And after discovering a domain for Ocean hued clam -set, my Barbara has gotten more field time, again. She is now also a sub-dps. I don't still have Kokomi, though. But after getting Kuki Barbara has seen so little usage.
I actually did exactly that: started a few new accounts a while ago, and the only condition to continue with the account was to get Sucrose from the first batch of wishes. Because there is no guaranteed way to get this ultra shy cutie. Playing with her in the team and without her is a big difference.
I just got hu tao this week now I don't want to play the game without her I find her playstyle really fun granted I got her c1 as well, also got staff of homa my luckiest weapon banner I got it in 20 pulls with 0 pity
As someone who has built Yanfei, Hu Tao, and Yoimiya all as Vaporize DPSs, I regret none of them. And yes, I 36 starred the 4.0 Abyss with Vaporize Yanfei.
@raycigar6356 They actually all have their own. Hu Tao is on Crimson Witch, Yanfei on Wanderer's, and Yoimiya is on Shimenawa. I don't like sharing artifacts. However, according to Akasha, my Hu Tao is top 1%, and Yanfei is top 4%.
@raycigar6356 I hate switching artifacts around when I switch characters. I occasionally swap some stuff for Abyss purposes, but otherwise every character I use is ready to go when I switch teams. I even started using Barbara with Nilou, so I didn't have to keep swapping Kokomi between ToM and EM build depending on whether she was running with Nilou or Ayaka.
You're take on Sucrose is something I agree with. Good unit, not actually fun to play. It's why whenever I see people bemoan her low usage rates and how underrated she is. I think Sucrose is "rated" in fact and people are well aware how good she can be. They just don't like playing her. lol
I completely agree about Sucrose, that's why I want to have Venti in phase 2 even if I have Kazuha because I will never have to play her again when I need a second support CC anemo. I hate her gameplay and I just can't stand people who say "you don't need Venti if you have sucrose". Fun is very important in a game.
She is so fuun 😂ahah well it's subjective. Idk but I always bring her eventho I have Kazuha. I love Sucrose hyperbloom with XQ Fischl. So satisfying proccing her E reset with her c4 or sac frag.
I somewhat like her as an on-field driver (though not enough to play such teams too often) and I am glad to have her when fighting enemies with a non-Pyro innate aura; Kazuha is usually kinda meh at best in such cases, while she can Guoba Swirl to at least shred Pyro RES. It's very niche, but those 2 cases are what's keeping Sucrose from being completely benched for me; any other situation though, I'm most likely using Kazuha or Venti.
@@doug3454 That's one of the problems, I don't want to play her on-field because I play someone else on-field in the team. So it is clearly horrible to play. I want a real off-field anemo support.
I think I got Childe c1 by accident cuz I got 2 in a 10 pull and I don't regret it cuz he's still cracked in 2023. I decided to crown his riptide and go for his bow too.
Other than a few must pulls our lists are unbelievably different. And I love that. Play who you want, the game is easy. Spiral Abyss is half an hour every 2 weeks and not that important
Barbara is a character I never had any interest in using until I got her c6, that full health revive is so incredibly helpful even with the long cooldown Also I really like the approach of just building around your favorite characters. I try to find a balance between meta and personal enjoyment, I pulled for characters like kazuha and yelan that I wasn't particularly interesting in for team comps, but then I also have amber lvl 90, a c0 faruzan as an anemo dps and refuse to pull nahida even though I plan on getting and maining Nilou
I get that its technically subjective, but if u somehow enjoy c0 dps faruzan, and not kazuha, ur probably severely masochistic. Ur one of those people that thrive in starving themselves and only eating their own shit every once in a while
@@kklap3219 I do use kazuha though, probably even more than faruzan, I just wasn't into his character personality or design. which was my whole point about sometimes pulling or building a character I don't really like design or personality wise, like yelan or kazuha, but they're great for meta, and other times building and using charters that either aren't meta, or using characters in a non meta way just for fun. Plus I use them in different roles, I use faruzan as an anemo dps and kazuha as a support/elemental trigger

I don’t know what it is, but even this video did not persuade me to build my Candice. I just don’t understand her at all. I dread her, Dori and Xinyan, and I have two of those lol…looking at the current banner in fear, but I’m ready to risk it all for my Venti and honestly I liked that Worcestershire sauce guy as well, so if I get Venti I can try to pull for him as well.
This is a fun one. I definitely agree with some of them. I think my list is something like this. Would 100% build again: Raiden, Kazuha, Yelan, Bennett, Nahida, Kuki, Dendro Traveler, Zhongli Might build again but at a lower priority: Mona, Eula, Faruzan, Wanderer, Kokomi, Nilou, Fischl, Hu Tao, Xiangling, Beidou, Candace, Thoma, Keqing, Diluc, Jean, Yaoyao, Heizou, Sayu, Lisa Probably wouldn't build again: Ganyu, Sucrose, Noelle, Ningguang, Razor, Xingqiu Haven't built, might prioritize: Ayaka, Yoimiya, Neuvillette For whatever reason I've never been able to get good results with Sucrose so I'd probably skip out on building her again. Conversely, I ended up loving Kazuha way more than I expected to so I'd prioritize getting him much earlier into my account. Would probably skip Ganyu, I ended up really not liking her playstyle as well as just liking her less than I expected to in a lot of other ways. I wouldn't necessarily say I regret pulling her but out of the five stars I have she's definitely the closest to regret, I got her instead of Zhongli about a month into playing the game and I think it would have been a way better decision to get Zhongli. There's too many in the middle tier to go over everyone but it's a lot of characters that I kind of enjoy, or they're kind of strong, but just not really my favorite to play for some reason or another. Don't regret but could skip. Or a few like Nilou and Faruzan where I feel like it's only worth going for them if you have a certain level of investment (already having Nahida and Faruzan C6). Eula is one that I've never regretted having because I love her aesthetic and character but I couldn't really justify prioritizing getting her due to how difficult it can be to make her teams good. Hu Tao is kind of in a similar but opposite camp where her teams are definitely strong but I kinda don't like how she feels to play at C0 and she's not enough of a favorite to really justify the C1. Xingqiu is very strong but I specifically have a bias against him and I would want to see how fast I can make a strong account without using him as a self-imposed challenge. I might or might not stick to it depending on who I was trying to use. Lastly, Ayaka and Yoimiya are units I don't have and at this point don't feel super inclined to pull on my current account, because I already have a lot of other strong characters including some that are kind of similar, but on a new account I'd absolutely be interested in trying them out. Also don't have Neuvillette and he's sorta too new to judge well but I'd definitely consider him as a strong second hydro option that works well in a lot of different teams if I didn't already have a bunch of good hydros.

I already have second account and avoided all power5 units, yes even XL. It made team building actually diverse and fun. Which kinda highlights the problem with power5's gap compared to other 4 star units.
My second account is foe all those characters that I only kinda want, but am saving foe another. Got me my Yoimiya and childe and Neuvillette, as well as my Raiden long before I got her on my main. Now my main is starting to catch up and get some of these characters to add to the collection
I honestly mostly avoid the power 5 units, myself. To some degree out of spite because I kept seeing people insist they are *musts.* You can tell I'm very petty because I very much wanted them badly and just hadn't gotten lucky yet, when people hadn't figured out how good they are, yet. XD
Cool list, very similiar to what mine would be. Differences are I would build Heizou/Wanderer (fun gameplay), Al Haitham (simp), Ganyu (simp), Beidou (just too cool). I don't have and want Yae Miko, Kokomi, Nahida, Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Dehya. Nilou, Ayaka, Shenhe and Yelan are missing too, but I would build them.
I have like a dozen chars I'd definitely build again, half a dozen I'd possibly build again. This comes mostly from observing ow often I play those characters in the last months. All characters not mentioned have been mostly irrelevant for me and my teams. Anemo Jean: Amazing burst heal, good energy with skill and even decent onfield damage... she's the drunk coop domain character for me Kazuha: Probably - I have never relied too much on his damage buffs and crowd control, but when he's there he definitely enhances a lot of things. Cryo Diona: Maybe - played her often in coop, but lately I tend to use Yaoyao more often as a coop heal Ganyu: Maybe - one of the prettiest characters, I just rarely play (with) Cryos overall Dendro Nahida: Super cute and powerful, best Dednro application Yaoyao: Cute, good Dendro application, heals... play her often in coop Electro Fischl: First character I pulled, makes Electro go brrr Kuki: Maybe - The only viable Electro healer, not a big Hyperbloom player, usually use other chars for Electro application Raiden: Probably - lately not using her that often, but always a very good choice to come back to Yae: Favorite character; crazy damage in Aggravate Geo Zhongli: Maybe - just the most convenient shielder to use with Hu Tao Hydro Kokomi: Maybe - she's pretty much the only character that condenses several much needed things like off-field Hydro application with strong heals and possibility to buff Mona: Love her design, her sprint, probably the best burst damage amp you can get Xingqiu: Love to pair him with Yelan and/or Hu Tao, insane Hydro application Yelan: Feels the best to play out of all characters, scales incredibly well with investment, I use her everywhere Pyro Bennett: Maybe - Xiangling wants particles and buffs, but nowadays I often play her with Hu Tao instead of Rational or the like Hu Tao: In terms of onfield Pyro application feels the best to play; my goto dps for bosses in abyss Xiangling: Best off-field Pyro application Lately unused (rarely used) limited 5* Eula: Her gameplay (huge burst, that can easily miss; claymore), element and the complete irrelevance of physical made me not use her for quite a while now... Klee: Super cute, but her only use for me is the Mondstadt talent domain Shenhe: Occasionally in coop to buff some Ayaka or Ganyu, fairly useless since I rarely play Cryo otherwise Yoimiya: Love her character, but most of the time I use either Hu Tao or non-Pyro teams All other characters I probably wouldn't even notice if they were missing (except shorter character list).

Those chars I would build again no matter what: Childe: Amazing team with amazing gameplay. Neuvillette: I live his gameplay. Xiangling: OPPA. She is just too good. Beidou: I love Sucrose Taser. And she is really good at it Kaeya: My Favorite Cryo. Klee: One of the coolest gameplay in the game. No way I don't pull her again. And she is the only limited 5* I pulled a con for. Zhongli: Because Neuvillette and I like him even if he is massively overrated Bennett & Xingqiu: There is a reason why they are my, overall most used chars. Yaoyao: I like her healing and how her gameplay flow works. Fischl: I like Fischl a lot and Oz is too powerful Kuki: Hylerbloom and cool design Sucrose: One of the coolest on fielder in the game. Kokomi: Moslty because of the next pick Nilou: I love her design and Bloom is cool with her Nahida: To good. And an Archon Al Haitham: Best on fielder. I love him and his gameplay Ayaka: Nothing feels as satisfying as Ayaka shredding through enemies (except Childes AoE Riptides) Kazuha: Klee needs buffing. Venti: Too convenient Thoma: I just love his Burgeon team.
I waffled on pulling on Kokomi just because she's so good and I was missing good Hydro characters (I think all I had was Barbara and Candace). I don't like the whole jellyfish/mermaid aesthetic, so I stubbornly resisted, and I'm so glad because now I have Neuvillette and can pull Furina without overloading my account with hydro characters I don't like. Xiangling was happy to carry me on her back as long as needed (caveat: I do not abyss). I even went all in (for me) and got Neuvillette's C1 for my first limited 5* constellation and I'm glad I did! I feel so indulgent going for constellations :O But it also enabled me to get my Fischl to C5, so I just need to buy her next time she comes around and she'll be done! 🤗
19:39, man I hate when that happens....wish we could see the load-out or something in the abyss menu I have been trying to build all my characters but the materials needed and resin makes its impossible. I won't complain about your choices, though I feel you should of maybe looked at all the past banners and considered options based of what is given at the time. As many times thats been why I skipped on certain characters.
I have both Nahida and Baizhu, but end up never using Baizhu. I use Kirara on Nilou Bloom and I use Collei for Hyperbloom. I just don't enjoy Baizhu. He's great and I'll slap Kirara's artifact on him when I absolutely need him. He's literally just an emergency strong unit rarely ever use.
After I'm done building up my Raiden team, I swear I'm gonna C4 Candace and do my darnest to form a team for her. Her and Ganyu were the pair that got me from ar1 to 45 and ever since I ended up eventually benching her after getting Kokomi and Xingqiu, I'm still always thinking of ways to get her back up there with the rest of the A-Team given my current roster.
Its interesting what you said about Diluc as he was my first 5 star and was on the team long into inazuma, but after i learned to play the game more, he doesnt see as much use now. Still find him to have the funnest claymore normals as yoy mix in his skill between swings to feel much smoother, but thats also it for him. Big pyro damage and not much else. Dehya despite doing less damage than Dikuc, i actually like trying to work into teams with her mechanics, using skill a bunch, using her as a burst dps and trying to set up melts or vapes, and letting her support a main chsracter rathee than be one
I really love my Yao Yao. I like the fight mechanic of jumping around during her burst. It's cute. I've built her burst-centric with emblem artifact and lots of er. She's well built between atk and healing, snd supported by Furina, Xiangling, and Sucrose in a salad Pokemon team. During her burst, each radish is popping off at around 6k. That ends up being a lot when you consider there are at least 3 Yueguis and herself tossing radishes. Her cons giver her extra energy, stamina, em, atk, healing. Even after Xiangling died, I still cleared half of 12-1, and all of 12-2 and 12-3, using only Furina and Sucrose to buff Yao Yao's burst.
Some hot takes, I like the mix of Meta vs Non Meta. There are now a few content creatures rallying behind Layla. My boy Ayato though. I love his play style and flexibility. If I did my account over again I would 100 hundred percent build him with Nilou, Nahida and Yao Yao. My favourite bloom team.
I built every character I have to at least 70 for obvious reason as F2P. However, I have been neglecting a lot of characters. Characters that I use all the time in the Abyss: Ayaka, Kokomi, Kazuha, Diona, Nilou, Yelan, Xingqiu, Hu Tao, Zhongli, Nahida, Kuki, Raiden, Yaoyao, Bennett, Xiangling, Furina. Characters that I also use for domain (including weekly bosses): Yoimiya, Beidou Characters that I currently use for overworld: Furina, Charlotte, Kuki, Freminet (friendship farming for new characters); Wanderer, Yelan, Furina, Kirara (exploration). Characters that I have not touched in a while: Candace, Yanfei, Mika, Razor, Sayu, Xinyan, Gorou, Ningguang, Keqing, Eula, Yunjin, Collei, Lisa, Kujou Sara, Amber, Dori, Barbara, Qiqi, Rosaria, Sucrose. I'm waiting to get my Shenhe and Neuvillette.
That Hu Tao and Yoimiya decision is understandable. Cos I myself love both of them as they’re both my fave characters. I actually got them both and their weapons. It’s silly as u said but at least I have my best girls in my account. Hahaha
I built ayaka on my main then immediately made another account to build her and she carried me through the story and all the way to ar50 almost entirely solo.
F2P perspective: I have around 80% of all the characters, and have built them all to at least 80 with passable artifacts. Been playing since day 1, and I feel like I had enough resources to do so. Not all of them are Abyss-ready (around half), but they are all good enough for overworld or co-op. I feel like it's more important to extract full gameplay value from the content we get (100% exploration from region drops, friendship 10 from character drops), than it is to speedrun to 36 stars. You will end up there eventually, just a little bit slower (my first 36 was around 2.4, haven't missed one since). Take the time to smell the roses so you don't get burnt out.
Same. As a day one player, I quickly realized that I'd get much more enjoyment out of the game by simply ignoring the Abyss. By not needing to build two maxed teams I had a lot more spare resources to build characters I like and experiment with non meta comps, it also frees you from the artifact gulag since you can make it work with less optimal pieces.
My fiance mains DPS kokomi (yes it works and it works _well_ ) and I've been trying to get her to build Candace, candace gives her a DPS buff, can share particles, and also gives her the 25% HP hydro team bonus. So far haven't been able to convince her.
She doesn't add much to Kokomi imo, Yelan has a similar buff has has sub-dps, Xingqiu has a similar debuff thanks to the hydro shred and sub-dps, all Candace would offer is the buffs without the sub-dps
@@gubzs furina adds a lot of value to sub-dpsses! I personally have been loving stacking Kokomi with Xingqiu, Yelan, and Furina Xingqiu covers VV using his hydro res shred Yelan and Furina buff damage bonus and do damage on their own too It's like bringing Kazuha without having to stop dpssing to refresh VV, plus everyone is free to build without ER, meaning a lot more damage
To my surprise I ended up agreeing with a lot of these! (Only exception is baby boys Childe and Itto) Ayato was a character I was SO obsessed with and tried for on two of my accounts. Finally got him on his first re run and I have been just so disappointed… idk how to put it because I do like his rotations every-time I swap into him his skill is ready to be used and after using his burst when I need it again it’s ready but idk I feel like something is just missing when it comes to him but idk what
I was laughing so much when you said about Layla and Diona I can see Genshin Scientist's impact on this😂😂😂 Honestly, it's very nice that you review your words and decisions around characters, because it shows that you're not afraid to improve when it's possible and very capable of taking criticism and respond to it accordingly But I think it's important to remind you (just in case) that you don't need to stress over it too much, it's alright to have different opinions Especially if both of you were right at the same time😂❤
Ive used both extensively and only Layla allowed me to run duos in abyss floor 12 (Yelan and Layla) for a win with no other characters. Her ability to apply cryo more often makes a big difference especially because freeze is what made it possible.
Beidou- Totally agree, she's great, but she just never seems to fit best into a team. If there was a 5th slot I'd play her way more. Hu Tao/Yoimiya- I do this same thing, I love both and use them a ton even though they overlap a lot Jean- I would have played a lot more Jean if I got her early on in my account
This makes me want to pull hu tao, but I honestly have too many units not built. I am waiting for the hydro archon, but I do love the hu tao design. Also, I think she's probably too old to go in my backlog now.
I acctidently got hu tao at 40 pity and i have to say she really is one of the best single target dps in the game if you play her right, but she's quite bad for aoe tbh
I thought she'd be power crept after 3 yrs but the abyss keeps adding more bosses/single target each patch and their health pools get higher and higher. It feels like she's only gotten more useful with time
I think I'll skip Hu Tao for Yoimiya to be honest, but she's fine. I probably won't build Sucrose because I really don't like her gameplay. But I still think that when I made this choice, I had good reasons to do so at that time. Sucrose was kinda useful at this moment. I will still build Childe, Ayaka and Keqing even if they are better with Kazuha and it is a mess. I will do it again even if I can't play 2 of them at the same time for the abyss or I can't play them with their best team. 😂 But the game is not only the abyss.
I honestly wanna pull for Miko and Nilou so bad because I LOVE their burst animations, I don't even know if I can make a proper team for them but I'm seriously thinking about it 😂
Nice review, but I think this discussion would be even more interesting if you would consider only 4 stars. Considering 5 stars makes us biased towards only those 4 stars that work well with 5 stars. But if you restrict yourself to only 4 stars, the discussion would be quite interesting, I think.
As a Welkin/BP player, my experience is that unless you commit way too much resources to artifact hunting, you will eventually have enough resources to build every single of your characters. You get a ton of characters at the start, both free ones and from banners that usually contain three to four characters you don't have yet while at lower world levels you get limited rewards for everything so saving resources definitely makes sense. But later on that all dries out and you start getting constellations rather than new characters. And in general, building a character takes less time than at which rate the game introduces them, even if you were able to get all of them (Welkin+BP is not enough for that, you necessarily miss out on some 5*s). It took me about two years to catch up but by the time when I built my last character, the time since I started playing divided by the number of characters I have was less than two weeks. And that even involved some serious artifact hunting periods, like when I was trying to get EM VV artifacts for all my Anemo support characters; I spent a few weeks just on that. Needless to say, at least for me building a new character is way more fun than grinding single artifact domain over and over again.
@@Fioletowooki I always feel sad for people who can't spare price of one Starbucks coffee per month to contribute to a game they enjoy playing. Personally I have way more fun with the game than I would with that coffee. However even as F2P the situation is not all that different. You have less resources but you also have less characters to build.
I'm so attached to Lisa. I dont even love her tbh but shes been with me since the beggining... I have Keqing, Fischl and Beidou, all better than Lisa i think and yet I cant get myself to stop using her lol
Luckily my favorite dps is mainly an enabler (ayato) so i got flexibility started playing 3.3 and only have ayato hyperbloom and kazuha national built but slowly branching out as a f2p
I really felt that about C4 Kirara... she seems so hard to use as an actual dendro unit without it; she's either an on field dendro driver or just a shieldbot without C4. I'm waiting on C4 so I can finally use her on my Keqing team; having a shielder that also applies dendro off field will be great, and has the benefit of being another 'cat girl' of some kind on my team
i've been playin Genshin for the past two weeks and havin' the most troubles deciding who to build. it's just so overwhelming and hard to know what synerchises well with another. :(
Beidou was my husbando (she's the most masculine character in the game, at least pre Neuvillette) and I built her as main dps using a really silly physical with prototype rancour despite the fact that I pulled Ayaka at like AR35 or something. Boy that was a mistake... slowed down my progress a lot and I ran into several walls that required me to lower my world level. Eventually I switched to jean main progressing through the main game and things went more smoothly, but I wished I would have used an actual main dps as my main dps instead of trying to just "pick your favorite character, bro".
A "maybe" section would be such a cop out. I'm glad he went without one because otherwise every character could just go in Maybe and it wouldn't tell us anything

I must say as a welkin buyer only , having faruzan from the event and having her c6 at the first banner with wanderer is pretty lucky for me , that was best even tho i lost to qiqi at first, but i got my wanderer then got c6 faruzan it was just really crazy how i had none and then boom 🤯
Jelly try this team. Beidou(C6), Electro Traveller, Rosaria/Shenhe and Bennet. yes seems like a weird team. But its a Team that Synergizes really really well and can do big damage especially if you can perfect doing Beidous parry :) She ist out performing my own Shogun at the moment with that team. My Shogun is C0 with the catch
A follow on would be which team would you start the new account with? The Raiden team would be a problem to start your account if you don’t glitch to Inazuma. Out of that set, maybe Ningguang + Zhongli core?
I find itto the most fun character out of all in my opinion, is not the only one, but once you learn how to play him is so sadisfing, ppl underestimate his value to be honest with right build and team l he is better then ayaka, i played with non geo team and with physical as a well he did perform very well as long as you gain his energy back, i will definitely build him again
6:05 actually diona is a better option for the over world because she's basically 3in1 shielder healer & bow user wich all in my opinion are a must include in my over world adventuring team. But for a boss fight I'd rather have a high cryo application that's y I'd go with Layla.

Yeah!! Level 8 is pretty good and keep in mind supports and sub dps often don't use their normal attacks on field so you can invest into just their burst/skill and save up materials

I have a second acc to try all the units I didn't give time on my main bcuz of "too similar use" or "not worth it". For exp as a Yae Miko enjoyer I just dont find it interesting to give Fischl my ressources but I know how strong she is so she finds utility on my second. Or like...I have Nahida so I never gave dendro traveler a chance but she found her place on my second.

In regards to Ayato, I like using him as a hyperbloom driver. Him having both on field and off field hydro as well as giant AoE makes him comfy in that role, and he lets me use both XQ and Yelan in Tao team other side.
Yes! That's exactly how I use Ayato. Ayato + Raiden + Nahida + flex slot (usually Zhongli or Kazuha). Use Raiden skill, use Nahida skill, pop Zhongli's shield, and then use Ayato to drive hyper bloom. It's a heck of a team.
I think Dendro drivers are better for Dendro teams because you get more seeds when Dendro hits Hydro compared to other way around

Layla Deals also pretty good DMG, even without Shenhe my Layla with crownd Burst and C6 (HoD) deals arround 7-9K per Q hit ever 1 or 2 sec, i think that’s really good for a Shielder with HP/HP/HP crit build

I think a second account really highlights this. I built the national team right away, as well as Yelan. Short term I plan on tazer with heizou being the second team until I get units that will really determine a direction to go in. Freeze is also a great early game second team. However, XL without C4 does feel kinda bad. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t have good artifacts yet.

XL is ok pre-C4 - I recall I still 36* for the first time without it back in 3.3, but it was horrible with like a 100 chamber restarts. For great new account teams, you can basically do whatever you want these days. The most obvious f2p setup is Fischl Yaoyao Beidou Sucrose on one half and any form of national on the other. But with all the mid 4 stars Hoyo keeps releasing, it might actually take a while for a new account to get all these good ones

@@ponderingfox Yeah, aggravate is all about Fischl. The rest is flexible. I guess I also ignored the Hyperbloom elephant in the room in my previous post. Kuki Shinobu and Dendro MC can carry the whole account a long way even with Barbara as the driver. I think the trick for new accounts to become meta quickly is to get lucky with a "broken" unit (Fischl, Bennett or Kuki) and then use primogems to get the 5* units that work with them

I got Tighnari as my dendro in my Keqing team too and a lot of ppl gave me flak for it, but I've been doing great with it!
I swore he'd fall off or something but I love applying dendro to whoever I want and them not standing right outside Traveler's AoE.
Hearing you say he works there is such a relief.
My Tighnari team is a bit non-ideal, but I love it, and he's my favorite character.
I'm so mad I was taking a break from the game when Tighnari's banner ran... He's probably the only Dendro character I care to build... Hoping to get him eventually on the standard...

I like her too, but it depends on each people's experience with the game, i had her c6 pretty fast so her kit was fully functional and i never got Jean so, her role was sort of unique
This is probably just my depression talking, but I LOVE that you emphasize playing our own favorite characters and give suggestions on how to make that happen. Your videos have changed my gameplay for the better, and made this game even more enjoyable for me.
Yomiya is so comfy in the open world. Her teams are my favorite for dailies and bosses.
This was a really interesting video, although due to the nature of the beast we call "gacha" we don't start out with every character and then pick and choose which ones we want to build. We don't know what characters will be useful over an extended period of time. After all, when Genshin was still in its first year Qiqi and Diluc were prized characters and pre-2.0 content creators were saying Kazuha was a skip. Furthermore, the characters you might reject now are also the ones that got you through the early game. Barbara got me through 40 adventure ranks easily, and Keqing was my most used character year-one. These days I pop them into teams only when I am feeling nostalgic, but I don't regret building them.
Same here; barbs and keqing were my most-used when i needed a decent hyperbloom team for pre-AR45 content. only major difference is i got nahida in the same 10-pull that got me keqing, so i didnt have to use DMC at all.
Everyone should also build Noelle. After getting Zhongli I haven't really used her much anymore, but she is a Must in early game.
The idea of skipping Barbara for Kokomi blew me away. Sure, I haven't used Barbara since I got Kokomi, but Kokomi is a limited 5 star. Potentially going months without Barbara, just because "I'll grab Kokomi later" seems painful.
@@Vgy1592 Yeah, totally. And after discovering a domain for Ocean hued clam -set, my Barbara has gotten more field time, again. She is now also a sub-dps. I don't still have Kokomi, though. But after getting Kuki Barbara has seen so little usage.
I actually did exactly that: started a few new accounts a while ago, and the only condition to continue with the account was to get Sucrose from the first batch of wishes. Because there is no guaranteed way to get this ultra shy cutie. Playing with her in the team and without her is a big difference.
I just got hu tao this week now I don't want to play the game without her I find her playstyle really fun granted I got her c1 as well, also got staff of homa my luckiest weapon banner I got it in 20 pulls with 0 pity
As someone who has built Yanfei, Hu Tao, and Yoimiya all as Vaporize DPSs, I regret none of them. And yes, I 36 starred the 4.0 Abyss with Vaporize Yanfei.

@raycigar6356 They actually all have their own. Hu Tao is on Crimson Witch, Yanfei on Wanderer's, and Yoimiya is on Shimenawa. I don't like sharing artifacts. However, according to Akasha, my Hu Tao is top 1%, and Yanfei is top 4%.

@raycigar6356 I hate switching artifacts around when I switch characters. I occasionally swap some stuff for Abyss purposes, but otherwise every character I use is ready to go when I switch teams. I even started using Barbara with Nilou, so I didn't have to keep swapping Kokomi between ToM and EM build depending on whether she was running with Nilou or Ayaka.
You're take on Sucrose is something I agree with. Good unit, not actually fun to play. It's why whenever I see people bemoan her low usage rates and how underrated she is. I think Sucrose is "rated" in fact and people are well aware how good she can be. They just don't like playing her. lol
I completely agree about Sucrose, that's why I want to have Venti in phase 2 even if I have Kazuha because I will never have to play her again when I need a second support CC anemo.
I hate her gameplay and I just can't stand people who say "you don't need Venti if you have sucrose".

I somewhat like her as an on-field driver (though not enough to play such teams too often) and I am glad to have her when fighting enemies with a non-Pyro innate aura; Kazuha is usually kinda meh at best in such cases, while she can Guoba Swirl to at least shred Pyro RES. It's very niche, but those 2 cases are what's keeping Sucrose from being completely benched for me; any other situation though, I'm most likely using Kazuha or Venti.

I think I got Childe c1 by accident cuz I got 2 in a 10 pull and I don't regret it cuz he's still cracked in 2023. I decided to crown his riptide and go for his bow too.
Other than a few must pulls our lists are unbelievably different. And I love that. Play who you want, the game is easy. Spiral Abyss is half an hour every 2 weeks and not that important
Barbara is a character I never had any interest in using until I got her c6, that full health revive is so incredibly helpful even with the long cooldown
Also I really like the approach of just building around your favorite characters.
I try to find a balance between meta and personal enjoyment, I pulled for characters like kazuha and yelan that I wasn't particularly interesting in for team comps, but then I also have amber lvl 90, a c0 faruzan as an anemo dps and refuse to pull nahida even though I plan on getting and maining Nilou

@@kklap3219 I do use kazuha though, probably even more than faruzan, I just wasn't into his character personality or design. which was my whole point about sometimes pulling or building a character I don't really like design or personality wise, like yelan or kazuha, but they're great for meta, and other times building and using charters that either aren't meta, or using characters in a non meta way just for fun.
Plus I use them in different roles, I use faruzan as an anemo dps and kazuha as a support/elemental trigger

I dread her, Dori and Xinyan, and I have two of those lol…looking at the current banner in fear, but I’m ready to risk it all for my Venti and honestly I liked that Worcestershire sauce guy as well, so if I get Venti I can try to pull for him as well.
This is a fun one. I definitely agree with some of them. I think my list is something like this.
Would 100% build again: Raiden, Kazuha, Yelan, Bennett, Nahida, Kuki, Dendro Traveler, Zhongli
Might build again but at a lower priority: Mona, Eula, Faruzan, Wanderer, Kokomi, Nilou, Fischl, Hu Tao, Xiangling, Beidou, Candace, Thoma, Keqing, Diluc, Jean, Yaoyao, Heizou, Sayu, Lisa
Probably wouldn't build again: Ganyu, Sucrose, Noelle, Ningguang, Razor, Xingqiu
Haven't built, might prioritize: Ayaka, Yoimiya, Neuvillette
For whatever reason I've never been able to get good results with Sucrose so I'd probably skip out on building her again. Conversely, I ended up loving Kazuha way more than I expected to so I'd prioritize getting him much earlier into my account. Would probably skip Ganyu, I ended up really not liking her playstyle as well as just liking her less than I expected to in a lot of other ways. I wouldn't necessarily say I regret pulling her but out of the five stars I have she's definitely the closest to regret, I got her instead of Zhongli about a month into playing the game and I think it would have been a way better decision to get Zhongli.
There's too many in the middle tier to go over everyone but it's a lot of characters that I kind of enjoy, or they're kind of strong, but just not really my favorite to play for some reason or another. Don't regret but could skip. Or a few like Nilou and Faruzan where I feel like it's only worth going for them if you have a certain level of investment (already having Nahida and Faruzan C6). Eula is one that I've never regretted having because I love her aesthetic and character but I couldn't really justify prioritizing getting her due to how difficult it can be to make her teams good. Hu Tao is kind of in a similar but opposite camp where her teams are definitely strong but I kinda don't like how she feels to play at C0 and she's not enough of a favorite to really justify the C1.
Xingqiu is very strong but I specifically have a bias against him and I would want to see how fast I can make a strong account without using him as a self-imposed challenge. I might or might not stick to it depending on who I was trying to use.
Lastly, Ayaka and Yoimiya are units I don't have and at this point don't feel super inclined to pull on my current account, because I already have a lot of other strong characters including some that are kind of similar, but on a new account I'd absolutely be interested in trying them out. Also don't have Neuvillette and he's sorta too new to judge well but I'd definitely consider him as a strong second hydro option that works well in a lot of different teams if I didn't already have a bunch of good hydros.

I honestly mostly avoid the power 5 units, myself. To some degree out of spite because I kept seeing people insist they are *musts.*
You can tell I'm very petty because I very much wanted them badly and just hadn't gotten lucky yet, when people hadn't figured out how good they are, yet. XD
Cool list, very similiar to what mine would be. Differences are I would build Heizou/Wanderer (fun gameplay), Al Haitham (simp), Ganyu (simp), Beidou (just too cool).
I don't have and want Yae Miko, Kokomi, Nahida, Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Dehya.
Nilou, Ayaka, Shenhe and Yelan are missing too, but I would build them.
I have like a dozen chars I'd definitely build again, half a dozen I'd possibly build again. This comes mostly from observing ow often I play those characters in the last months. All characters not mentioned have been mostly irrelevant for me and my teams.

Jean: Amazing burst heal, good energy with skill and even decent onfield damage... she's the drunk coop domain character for me
Kazuha: Probably - I have never relied too much on his damage buffs and crowd control, but when he's there he definitely enhances a lot of things.
Cryo
Diona: Maybe - played her often in coop, but lately I tend to use Yaoyao more often as a coop heal
Ganyu: Maybe - one of the prettiest characters, I just rarely play (with) Cryos overall
Dendro
Nahida: Super cute and powerful, best Dednro application
Yaoyao: Cute, good Dendro application, heals... play her often in coop
Electro
Fischl: First character I pulled, makes Electro go brrr
Kuki: Maybe - The only viable Electro healer, not a big Hyperbloom player, usually use other chars for Electro application
Raiden: Probably - lately not using her that often, but always a very good choice to come back to
Yae: Favorite character; crazy damage in Aggravate
Geo
Zhongli: Maybe - just the most convenient shielder to use with Hu Tao
Hydro
Kokomi: Maybe - she's pretty much the only character that condenses several much needed things like off-field Hydro application with strong heals and possibility to buff
Mona: Love her design, her sprint, probably the best burst damage amp you can get
Xingqiu: Love to pair him with Yelan and/or Hu Tao, insane Hydro application
Yelan: Feels the best to play out of all characters, scales incredibly well with investment, I use her everywhere
Pyro
Bennett: Maybe - Xiangling wants particles and buffs, but nowadays I often play her with Hu Tao instead of Rational or the like
Hu Tao: In terms of onfield Pyro application feels the best to play; my goto dps for bosses in abyss
Xiangling: Best off-field Pyro application
Lately unused (rarely used) limited 5*
Eula: Her gameplay (huge burst, that can easily miss; claymore), element and the complete irrelevance of physical made me not use her for quite a while now...
Klee: Super cute, but her only use for me is the Mondstadt talent domain
Shenhe: Occasionally in coop to buff some Ayaka or Ganyu, fairly useless since I rarely play Cryo otherwise
Yoimiya: Love her character, but most of the time I use either Hu Tao or non-Pyro teams
All other characters I probably wouldn't even notice if they were missing (except shorter character list).

Xiangling: OPPA. She is just too good.
Beidou: I love Sucrose Taser. And she is really good at it
Kaeya: My Favorite Cryo.
Klee: One of the coolest gameplay in the game. No way I don't pull her again. And she is the only limited 5* I pulled a con for.
Zhongli: Because Neuvillette and I like him even if he is massively overrated
Bennett & Xingqiu: There is a reason why they are my, overall most used chars.
Yaoyao: I like her healing and how her gameplay flow works.
Fischl: I like Fischl a lot and Oz is too powerful
Kuki: Hylerbloom and cool design
Sucrose: One of the coolest on fielder in the game.
Kokomi: Moslty because of the next pick
Nilou: I love her design and Bloom is cool with her
Nahida: To good. And an Archon
Al Haitham: Best on fielder. I love him and his gameplay

I waffled on pulling on Kokomi just because she's so good and I was missing good Hydro characters (I think all I had was Barbara and Candace). I don't like the whole jellyfish/mermaid aesthetic, so I stubbornly resisted, and I'm so glad because now I have Neuvillette and can pull Furina without overloading my account with hydro characters I don't like. Xiangling was happy to carry me on her back as long as needed (caveat: I do not abyss). I even went all in (for me) and got Neuvillette's C1 for my first limited 5* constellation and I'm glad I did! I feel so indulgent going for constellations :O But it also enabled me to get my Fischl to C5, so I just need to buy her next time she comes around and she'll be done! 🤗

I have been trying to build all my characters but the materials needed and resin makes its impossible.
I won't complain about your choices, though I feel you should of maybe looked at all the past banners and considered options based of what is given at the time. As many times thats been why I skipped on certain characters.
I have both Nahida and Baizhu, but end up never using Baizhu. I use Kirara on Nilou Bloom and I use Collei for Hyperbloom. I just don't enjoy Baizhu. He's great and I'll slap Kirara's artifact on him when I absolutely need him. He's literally just an emergency strong unit rarely ever use.

After I'm done building up my Raiden team, I swear I'm gonna C4 Candace and do my darnest to form a team for her. Her and Ganyu were the pair that got me from ar1 to 45 and ever since I ended up eventually benching her after getting Kokomi and Xingqiu, I'm still always thinking of ways to get her back up there with the rest of the A-Team given my current roster.
Its interesting what you said about Diluc as he was my first 5 star and was on the team long into inazuma, but after i learned to play the game more, he doesnt see as much use now.
Still find him to have the funnest claymore normals as yoy mix in his skill between swings to feel much smoother, but thats also it for him. Big pyro damage and not much else.
Dehya despite doing less damage than Dikuc, i actually like trying to work into teams with her mechanics, using skill a bunch, using her as a burst dps and trying to set up melts or vapes, and letting her support a main chsracter rathee than be one
I really love my Yao Yao. I like the fight mechanic of jumping around during her burst. It's cute. I've built her burst-centric with emblem artifact and lots of er. She's well built between atk and healing, snd supported by Furina, Xiangling, and Sucrose in a salad Pokemon team. During her burst, each radish is popping off at around 6k. That ends up being a lot when you consider there are at least 3 Yueguis and herself tossing radishes. Her cons giver her extra energy, stamina, em, atk, healing. Even after Xiangling died, I still cleared half of 12-1, and all of 12-2 and 12-3, using only Furina and Sucrose to buff Yao Yao's burst.
Some hot takes, I like the mix of Meta vs Non Meta. There are now a few content creatures rallying behind Layla. My boy Ayato though. I love his play style and flexibility. If I did my account over again I would 100 hundred percent build him with Nilou, Nahida and Yao Yao. My favourite bloom team.
I built lynette after pulling her C6 while going for Yelan. I didn't regret it, she is one of the better characters on my account.
She is in same tier as qiqi

I built every character I have to at least 70 for obvious reason as F2P. However, I have been neglecting a lot of characters.
Characters that I use all the time in the Abyss: Ayaka, Kokomi, Kazuha, Diona, Nilou, Yelan, Xingqiu, Hu Tao, Zhongli, Nahida, Kuki, Raiden, Yaoyao, Bennett, Xiangling, Furina.
Characters that I also use for domain (including weekly bosses): Yoimiya, Beidou
Characters that I currently use for overworld: Furina, Charlotte, Kuki, Freminet (friendship farming for new characters); Wanderer, Yelan, Furina, Kirara (exploration).
Characters that I have not touched in a while: Candace, Yanfei, Mika, Razor, Sayu, Xinyan, Gorou, Ningguang, Keqing, Eula, Yunjin, Collei, Lisa, Kujou Sara, Amber, Dori, Barbara, Qiqi, Rosaria, Sucrose.
I'm waiting to get my Shenhe and Neuvillette.

That Hu Tao and Yoimiya decision is understandable. Cos I myself love both of them as they’re both my fave characters. I actually got them both and their weapons. It’s silly as u said but at least I have my best girls in my account. Hahaha
I built ayaka on my main then immediately made another account to build her and she carried me through the story and all the way to ar50 almost entirely solo.
F2P perspective: I have around 80% of all the characters, and have built them all to at least 80 with passable artifacts.
Been playing since day 1, and I feel like I had enough resources to do so. Not all of them are Abyss-ready (around half), but they are all good enough for overworld or co-op.
I feel like it's more important to extract full gameplay value from the content we get (100% exploration from region drops, friendship 10 from character drops), than it is to speedrun to 36 stars.
You will end up there eventually, just a little bit slower (my first 36 was around 2.4, haven't missed one since). Take the time to smell the roses so you don't get burnt out.
Same. As a day one player, I quickly realized that I'd get much more enjoyment out of the game by simply ignoring the Abyss. By not needing to build two maxed teams I had a lot more spare resources to build characters I like and experiment with non meta comps, it also frees you from the artifact gulag since you can make it work with less optimal pieces.
Cyno's so good but super long burst makes his few last second dmg becomes raw. Tho his weapon is a huge powerspike
My fiance mains DPS kokomi (yes it works and it works _well_ ) and I've been trying to get her to build Candace, candace gives her a DPS buff, can share particles, and also gives her the 25% HP hydro team bonus. So far haven't been able to convince her.
She doesn't add much to Kokomi imo, Yelan has a similar buff has has sub-dps, Xingqiu has a similar debuff thanks to the hydro shred and sub-dps, all Candace would offer is the buffs without the sub-dps

@@gubzs furina adds a lot of value to sub-dpsses! I personally have been loving stacking Kokomi with Xingqiu, Yelan, and Furina
Xingqiu covers VV using his hydro res shred
Yelan and Furina buff damage bonus and do damage on their own too
It's like bringing Kazuha without having to stop dpssing to refresh VV, plus everyone is free to build without ER, meaning a lot more damage
I think Barbara favonius will be super valuable with Furina
To my surprise I ended up agreeing with a lot of these! (Only exception is baby boys Childe and Itto) Ayato was a character I was SO obsessed with and tried for on two of my accounts. Finally got him on his first re run and I have been just so disappointed… idk how to put it because I do like his rotations every-time I swap into him his skill is ready to be used and after using his burst when I need it again it’s ready but idk I feel like something is just missing when it comes to him but idk what

The simple fact that Diona gives EM Buff+ Shield+ Heal and works in co op its clear this guy just likes Layla more

Ive used both extensively and only Layla allowed me to run duos in abyss floor 12 (Yelan and Layla) for a win with no other characters. Her ability to apply cryo more often makes a big difference especially because freeze is what made it possible.
Hey, Ninguang is a On Field if you want to . If I had Gorou c6 I would definetly make her my main dps
Beidou- Totally agree, she's great, but she just never seems to fit best into a team. If there was a 5th slot I'd play her way more.
Hu Tao/Yoimiya- I do this same thing, I love both and use them a ton even though they overlap a lot
Jean- I would have played a lot more Jean if I got her early on in my account

This makes me want to pull hu tao, but I honestly have too many units not built. I am waiting for the hydro archon, but I do love the hu tao design. Also, I think she's probably too old to go in my backlog now.
I acctidently got hu tao at 40 pity and i have to say she really is one of the best single target dps in the game if you play her right, but she's quite bad for aoe tbh
I thought she'd be power crept after 3 yrs but the abyss keeps adding more bosses/single target each patch and their health pools get higher and higher. It feels like she's only gotten more useful with time
I think I'll skip Hu Tao for Yoimiya to be honest, but she's fine.
I probably won't build Sucrose because I really don't like her gameplay.
But I still think that when I made this choice, I had good reasons to do so at that time.
Sucrose was kinda useful at this moment.
I will still build Childe, Ayaka and Keqing even if they are better with Kazuha and it is a mess.
I will do it again even if I can't play 2 of them at the same time for the abyss or I can't play them with their best team. 😂 But the game is not only the abyss.
I honestly wanna pull for Miko and Nilou so bad because I LOVE their burst animations, I don't even know if I can make a proper team for them but I'm seriously thinking about it 😂

Nice review, but I think this discussion would be even more interesting if you would consider only 4 stars. Considering 5 stars makes us biased towards only those 4 stars that work well with 5 stars. But if you restrict yourself to only 4 stars, the discussion would be quite interesting, I think.
Jello is having my problem with Yoimiya and Hu tao .. i build them both , with completely different artifact sets and i am enjoying them both

As a Welkin/BP player, my experience is that unless you commit way too much resources to artifact hunting, you will eventually have enough resources to build every single of your characters. You get a ton of characters at the start, both free ones and from banners that usually contain three to four characters you don't have yet while at lower world levels you get limited rewards for everything so saving resources definitely makes sense. But later on that all dries out and you start getting constellations rather than new characters. And in general, building a character takes less time than at which rate the game introduces them, even if you were able to get all of them (Welkin+BP is not enough for that, you necessarily miss out on some 5*s).
It took me about two years to catch up but by the time when I built my last character, the time since I started playing divided by the number of characters I have was less than two weeks. And that even involved some serious artifact hunting periods, like when I was trying to get EM VV artifacts for all my Anemo support characters; I spent a few weeks just on that.
Needless to say, at least for me building a new character is way more fun than grinding single artifact domain over and over again.

However even as F2P the situation is not all that different. You have less resources but you also have less characters to build.
I'm so attached to Lisa. I dont even love her tbh but shes been with me since the beggining... I have Keqing, Fischl and Beidou, all better than Lisa i think and yet I cant get myself to stop using her lol

Luckily my favorite dps is mainly an enabler (ayato) so i got flexibility started playing 3.3 and only have ayato hyperbloom and kazuha national built but slowly branching out as a f2p
I really felt that about C4 Kirara... she seems so hard to use as an actual dendro unit without it; she's either an on field dendro driver or just a shieldbot without C4.
I'm waiting on C4 so I can finally use her on my Keqing team; having a shielder that also applies dendro off field will be great, and has the benefit of being another 'cat girl' of some kind on my team
I made 2 builds for Candace & Dehya (onfield dps and support) because they just look soo good.

i've been playin Genshin for the past two weeks and havin' the most troubles deciding who to build. it's just so overwhelming and hard to know what synerchises well with another. :(
Beidou was my husbando (she's the most masculine character in the game, at least pre Neuvillette) and I built her as main dps using a really silly physical with prototype rancour despite the fact that I pulled Ayaka at like AR35 or something. Boy that was a mistake... slowed down my progress a lot and I ran into several walls that required me to lower my world level. Eventually I switched to jean main progressing through the main game and things went more smoothly, but I wished I would have used an actual main dps as my main dps instead of trying to just "pick your favorite character, bro".
You fail to mention about how layla forms one of the highest potential Wanderer teams, simply because she enables 20% crit along with bennet 30% atk.
You should have added 3rd option too, as "Maybe/if"

A "maybe" section would be such a cop out. I'm glad he went without one because otherwise every character could just go in Maybe and it wouldn't tell us anything

You glazed over Wanderer really quickly but he is by far the most broken overworld exploration character to be released so far so I'm a bit surprised
Liza is so great! I love her animation on E, and how incredible she is with dendro, my favourite element. Playing her over Raiden sometimes hhaha

I must say as a welkin buyer only , having faruzan from the event and having her c6 at the first banner with wanderer is pretty lucky for me , that was best even tho i lost to qiqi at first, but i got my wanderer then got c6 faruzan it was just really crazy how i had none and then boom 🤯
Jelly try this team. Beidou(C6), Electro Traveller, Rosaria/Shenhe and Bennet. yes seems like a weird team. But its a Team that Synergizes really really well and can do big damage especially if you can perfect doing Beidous parry :) She ist out performing my own Shogun at the moment with that team. My Shogun is C0 with the catch

The Raiden team would be a problem to start your account if you don’t glitch to Inazuma. Out of that set, maybe Ningguang + Zhongli core?
I find itto the most fun character out of all in my opinion, is not the only one, but once you learn how to play him is so sadisfing, ppl underestimate his value to be honest with right build and team l he is better then ayaka, i played with non geo team and with physical as a well he did perform very well as long as you gain his energy back, i will definitely build him again
6:05 actually diona is a better option for the over world because she's basically 3in1 shielder healer & bow user wich all in my opinion are a must include in my over world adventuring team. But for a boss fight I'd rather have a high cryo application that's y I'd go with Layla.
I use Alhaitham as my main hyperbloom dps, and i think he's pretty. (Literally one of my strongest character)

Yeah!! Level 8 is pretty good and keep in mind supports and sub dps often don't use their normal attacks on field so you can invest into just their burst/skill and save up materials

I have a second acc to try all the units I didn't give time on my main bcuz of "too similar use" or "not worth it". For exp as a Yae Miko enjoyer I just dont find it interesting to give Fischl my ressources but I know how strong she is so she finds utility on my second. Or like...I have Nahida so I never gave dendro traveler a chance but she found her place on my second.

Heizou isn’t close to meta but for me is so fun to play! His quick swap is fun and his skill punch is so satisfying. I got him to C6 and he was on my first 36 abyss star team 🤩 now I just need to one day C6 Faruzan who’s currently at c2 🥵
