what is it about character development that seems to escape every critic I've had the displeasure of reading in oh so many of these reactions? Not everyone that watches these episodes are that buried in Star Wars lore. I've seen every movie, now every series and I've enjoyed them all. Enjoy folks I think this is the final lesson Anikin tried to teach Ashoka.....live and love and enjoy.

Food for thought: Obiwan trained Anakin to be a peacekeeper. Anakin trainned Ahsoka (14 at the time) as a warrior due to her being trainned during the clone wars. Thats all she's ever known. Lead and Survive... or else you die. Once the War ended, Ahsoka is lost. No war, no purpose... except chasing ghosts. (Ezra and Thrawn) Anakin teaching her to embrace Living over surviving is what we get to see now. She's removed from her monotone ways and now taking leaps of faith. Her, sharing a connection with the space whales isnt as much her speaking to them, but i believe she is reaching out through the force and influencing her desires to find Ezra. She doesnt know where the whales are going... but its better than here. (Something like that)

You hit Rosario Dawson as Ashoka on the head. The show would have potential if it wasn’t for her boring, monotone interpretation of of the character. And if I see her cross her arms one more time I’m done with the series. I also agree that this show is all over the place. I don’t mind the actor that plays Jason but the lines they give him are corny as hell. And don’t get me started on their explanation of the force. Out of no where, Heras taking orders from her 10 year old because he has a feeling? Give me a break. They could of set up his force sensitivity way differently and made it more interesting. But I guess when you have the biggest nerds writing the show your gonna have a lot of nerdy content!

She was "boring and monotone" due to all the shit she went through. Like obi. She was clearly smiling and more hopefull etc at the end like how she was in clone wars. She crosses her arms because she picked that up from anakin. Heras kid is like 8 he is going to say corny shit. Just how he kept interrupting the grown ups talking like any kid would.

Yeah the part where Ahsoka sort of stared down Anakin and made him stop just like that seemed rather odd, it was I think an attempt to try and give Ahsoka a "Bad ass" moment just for the sake of it.
The rest of the episode was actually very good.

It's a spaceship... it can travel in space... the sea is nothing. Taken out by a wave?

I liked this episode. I thought it was good. Episode 4 and 5 are definitely the highlights of the show. Of course, my favourite parts are the ones with Anakin. It was really cool how they kept bouncing back and forth with Anakin's light and dark side and it kept you on your toes wondering what Anakin may do next. It was also wild seeing stuff that takes place during the Clone Wars in live action.
I liked the nods to the Obi Wan and Anakin fight in episode 3 by having Anakin perform a few of the standout moves/very similar ones from that fight in the fight with Ahsoka.

Ahsoka is the last real link to the previous generation of Jedi, I guess Luke too, but he ends up dying in the sequels. So again, can't get rid of her, she's like all we got left of the "good" Star Wars.

    A few things, respectfully.
I absolutely am not a fan of the direction Disney is taking Star Wars, nor am I a huge fan of the show so far besides the last 2 episodes.
But Rosario Dawson playing ahsoka stoically fits the character in this timeframe. It isn’t young and hopeful ahsoka. If you recall the Ahsoka/fulcrum from Rebels this is exactly what she was like, very stoic and monotone. She had been through a lot in the clone wars and was now a very different person.
As far as Jacen, although it was kinda corny I have no issue with him sensing a lightsaber duel or whatever or him being setup as another potential jedi, as his father was a jedi anyway. But being a Jedi also has no bearing on whether someone can use the force or not, it isn’t exclusive to jedi. It has always been stated that the force is in all living things. And like Ahsoka said to Sabine, some are just more talented than others. Not everyone is gonna do crazy jedi feats like physically applying the force. Some simply have like a sixth sense or are empaths. So nothing she stated was incorrect or misleading, she never said anyone could be a jedi, as we all know that isn’t true anyway since they typically only accepted beings with a sufficient amount of force sensitivity and connection.
Most incorrect statement though was that “Anakin left ahsoka and ended her training to go do vader things and kill younglings”. Have you watched star wars??? That never happened. Ahsoka is the one that left the Jedi AND anakin of her own free will after she was wrongfully accused of crimes against the republic. Anakin begged her to stay but she was over the Jedi and didn’t want to be part of the growing corruption in the order. And she struggled with that guilt of leaving anakin after learning that he became darth Vader.
That’s what that whole flashback was about. Her looking back and seeing that the Jedi were going in the wrong direction, she as a child was placed in a position she should never have been, and then carrying a legacy of darkness with her because of the actions of the jedi and her masters downfall. Which is also why she abandoned Sabine and ended her training.
On Anakins part, it wasn’t that he will always resort to the dark side. She brings up his turning into Vader and he asks “is that what this is about”? It wasn’t him turning evil, it was him forcing her to confront her fear instead of continuing to run from it. She feared falling to the dark side and turning into a weapon of resentment and vengeance and spreading the poison through the galaxy so she exiled herself. But he needed her to learn to let go of her fears and anger, something he never learned to do until it was too late, in order to be a light in a time of darkness. That’s why she also “beat” anakin. No, she definitely did not beat him in a duel, he let her win. His goal wasn’t to kill her but the opposite. He just needed her to fight and find the will to win. Once he saw that she had it his job was complete and there was no reason to keep beating her down.
Final thing: Even if it wasn’t space whales, odd creatures have literally always been a thing in Star Wars. I don’t see what’s so unbelievable about that in a sci fi series full of slug people, sand worms, blue women with head tentacles, and giant cosmic krakens. And Ahsoka communicating with them isn’t unreasonable either. Because beast control has literally always been a thing in stars. Like…always.

I'm about to upset some people, but in reality I am the one upset. I keep hearing people say this is the best star wars yet, ahsoka is so great, even you just said you got hit in your feels.
Well, all I am hit by is a feeling of being insulted.
    Let us review.
So far,the Disney Star Wars roster consists of 6 women, a child, and 2 robots.
Lightsabers are as effective as wet noodles.
    We have space whales
A dollar store Space Battles Star Wars rip-off vader wannabe.
And a plot that has gone absolutely nowhere in 5 episodes.
But hey, we got Anakin in a flashback that canonically didn't even happen(Dave made it up for clone wars, just like ahsoka) and a wet noodle fight with 0 stakes.
In fact,no body needs to be scared when the Lightsabers come out because they are no longer life threatening...
I will never understand how you people applaud this trash and have the nerve to call this Star Wars. It isn't. Everything that is going on makes 0 sense in the universe George created.
    There were no SPACE WHALES.
If a lightsaber ignited, the situation was tense because even a main protagonist wasn't safe. Now people just walk it off,not like their insides would have been cooked as they should have been.
This is a joke. But I find it funny how eager you all are to open up wide for Dave's chode and swallow this bullshit down with a smile and then thank him for it...
You guys are simps for a non GL character surrounded by a woke agenda.. come on man, even the republican ship captain was a woman..they couldn't make it some ambiguous alien? Men have no value in this Galaxy far far away, because this isn't George Lucas Galaxy anymore. This is just garbage.

Star Wars 4, 5 and 6 are the best Star Wars. Everything else is catchup and lagging.
