    Styrofoam and aluminium foil are actually dangerous to be used as container or for cooking, I also wonder about microplastic from the packaging when heated in microwave. Hopefully Japan will find better alternatives soon. Thanks for trying all these out.

    • @DigDigJAPAN
      @DigDigJAPAN  2 месяца назад +2

      Is that so?!
      It's a fairly common cooking method in Japan, so if it's dangerous, that would be a big problem😣💦I hope they find a good alternative🤔

    I like how the food looks similar to what's on the package. Here in the US, it's questionable. To me, the prices are very reasonable. That hamburg and cheese looked SO good! In the US, there are what we call convenience stores, but most of the time they are part of a gas station and you can get food, drinks, non-food items like motor oil, etc. Most of what I have seen is not packaged like you have in Japan. I would almost call Japanese convenience stores "micro-groceries". I enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing a bit of Japan with us.

    • @DigDigJAPAN

      Thanks for enjoying! Not only the taste of the product, but also the design of the package is wonderful☺️Convenience stores in America seem to be different from those in Japan. It's a great opportunity to learn about the culture of a different country 😆 I would love to go there.
      We will also be making videos of convenience store products, so please take a look!

    The strawberry roll cake is so cute! I love strawberry so I really want to try it.
    This jigae looks good, I'm not surprised that it's spicy, koreans love spicy food, they like to add a lot of pepperto their food.
    That oolong tea package is so cute too! Oolong is one of my favorite teas (though my favorite is genmaicha). 🍵

    I have seen UFO noodles in American supermarkets, I will have to try it sometime. I just tried Korean Chapagetti yesterday & its wonderful! LOL, I heard your stomach growl at 10:45, not the first time in one of your videos! Everything except the yukhoe looks good to me. A cultural thing, I guess. That Korean jigae looks yummy, I love spicy food - especially when I am sick. I have heard that the LAWSON egg salad sandwich is very good, maybe someday, I will get to try one. I have been to Europe, but not Asia, and Asian food is my favorite.

      Lawson's egg salad sandwich is really delicious!! They sell it at other convenience stores, but personally I like Lawson☺️

      @@DigDigJAPAN Your videos showed up in my feed a few days ago and I have been sick with COVID for the first time, so they have been a nice pleasant diversion for me while I have been stuck in bed. Happily, I am getting better. I have watched several of your videos by now, and I heard your stomach growling in another one. That’s a sensitive microphone you are using! Don’t be embarassed, it means you are looking forward to what you are about to eat, and it gives your videos an accidental authenticity. It makes it feel more like art. I hope that some day I will get to visit Japan, I know I would enjoy the food, but I am also interested in traditional folk art, and there is so much great craftsmanship in your country. I think there are many things I would enjoy about Japan.

      Umm But that wasn't the point of the video.🙄 Why are u watching then if u are so opposed to it? The point of the video was to showcase different foods in the convenience stores in Japan. Idk where u are from but as he said US doesn't have this store except in Hawaii. The foods at convenience stores here are def not like this so it was a fun video. Nobody said it was a "gourmet foods" or "cooking" video. Furthermore there's no way I could cook n feed a family of 6 with those prices. US grocery prices are astronomical n rising every week!! I live in the NJ\NY area n I WISH we could by foods for the prices he listed!! Watch something else if u want to see home cooked foods🤷.

    if you care to know, those labels are printed using heat instead of ink. most receipt printers in grocery stores also use the same method. that way you only have to replace the paper, no ink to replace. if you hold up a receipt to a heat source (like a space heater) the whole thing will turn 100% black.

    I remember Lawsons were everywhere when I was young. They always had fresh foods and my favorite was freshly squeezed OJ. And of course lots of other things for convenience. Then the franchise was sold to a Japanese company and all the Lawsons were no more. But many of the buildings remain and are other things now but that classic design of the building let's us remember that great little store. Some of the specialities like the French onion chip dip still exists under the Lawsons logo. Sold at Circle K.

      @DigDigJAPAN  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for watching! ! A few years ago, I was surprised to hear that there are 700 Lawson stores in the United States. Lawson's intentions have been inherited in Japan, and now it is very popular in Japan! ! ✨✨
      It's amazing that the building remains. Is Circle K located in America? ? In Japan, it was acquired by FamilyMart and disappeared 😭

    • @y-mefarm4249
      @y-mefarm4249 8 месяцев назад

      @DigDigJAPAN Yes, Circle K is a gas station/convenient store. I am in Ohio and have not seen any actual Lawsons in operation. I believe that they are in fact called Circle K and owned by Lawsons of Japan. Researching it says that only 2 actual Lawsons stores are in the USA, and both are in Hawaii. The Circle K's here are similar to the Lawsons in Japan but have a different variety of foods. Not as much of a selection, though. What's interesting is I type in Lawsons near me, in Google and Circle K comes up. Learned something new today. Lol Makes sense since they carry Lawsons products. Did not know Lawsons and Circle K are one in the same.

    Eating hamburger with rice isn't unheard of in other places @ it being unique! Just, at least in the southern USA, it would always be called a "hamburger steak", never just "hamburger." It is often served with either potatoes or rice around here! We also most definitely have convenience stores, haha, although ares are not so nicely stocked with good foods as Japanese stores are...

    The Japanese all seem to be able to use microwave ovens with ease and appear to be satisfied with the results every single time.
