I am making a damascus folding knife. This is the largest, most ambitious folding knife I have ever made. This folder took many hours to make, so many things can go wrong with a knife this complicated.

Everytime I hear someone saying they're a perfectionist to justify their procrastination, I think about Kyle. This is what a true perfectionist looks like, someone completely obsessed about their craft, they don't really have time to think about how perfectionist they are.
Completely Obsessed with their craft but claims his pattern welded steel is damascus. Looks amazing but i die a little on the inside everytime he says it. Damascus is to RUclips-Swordsmithing as Folded Steel is to Weeaboos.

@@SatanSupimpa It's rather the opposite. My life is so good right now that every little thing that bothers me gets to the surface, as there is nothing else on there.
Also misinforming people is serious, even when just claiming to use a diffrent type of steel. People that create content for people should be held to an impeccable standart.
@@einehrenmann6156 Alot of words loose their original meaning, i think its fine to call this damascus, but just mention the real damascus if your talking to others. The fact that real damascus isnt common nowadays and hasnt been for a while is why we call this damascus, not that big of a deal really
@@MrHugo9397 Yes it is. It's a entirely diffrent type of Steel with a rich history being confused to standart modern steel simply welded to look nice. It's like saying Romans had A2 steel. Damascus didn't loose it's meaning, people just lie (either by incompetence or malice) about the steel to attract unknowing Viewers who then take their false narrative as fact and spread it. Lying to your audience should be exposed and stopped not excused in comments by saying "It's not that big of a deal". That's how you end up with people believing the Earth to be flat or that Vaccines couse Autism. We should be better then that.
These are not knives. These are works of absolute fine art. Hats off.

The immaculate attention to detail is what sets this guy apart from the other 99% of ppl who share his passion for this craft. I love that you do everything, every step, start, to finish, in house. Great work my man. Glad to see some ppl still take forging in particular, seriously.
Wow. I was skeptical about all the colors for the handle but it looks great altogether. Definitely worth doing more feather pattern designs in the future.

I've seen so many cheap knives using that blue-purple color along with yellow but this is how it should be used, sparingly and with great contrast. what a masterpiece.

What I like about his work is that he doesn't just stick to what he knows and just make pretty blades in slightly varied ways. He attempts completely different things and has the imagination and skill to make it become reality. Sometimes I wonder what his ratio is to design and engineer what he wants and how he's going to do it compared with the actual construction of them.
That is definitley a knife that is worthy of it's own case. Absolutey amazing, you can really see just how much Kyle loves his trade and the work he puts out is remarkable. Stunning knife!!!

I also need to comment on the video production: As much as I love the sounds of a busy workshop, I enjoyed the more peaceful background sounds and music in this video a little more than I thought I would. You had the perfect balance of ambient work sounds as well a lighter music overlay. I enjoyed the video almost as much as watching the knife come together. Well done and thank you for sharing

My favorite component is actually the bolster. Especially the main golden privet-screw is perfectly placed and sets the bolster off very nicely.

This has got to be the best edited video I have ever watched on Knife-Making (Including your videos), The process and workmanship is already off the charts but the synchronization with the artistic display and timing of per segment presented was an unexpected high level of quality that basically made everything I have just watched so poetic.
This is THE video one actually needs when they have had need for serenity and something beautiful, where beauty is a side product (ironic enough). One actually feels part of it all; routing for it to succeed as if it is that of his own. Thank you and all those involved for the wonderful experience.

I have watched a lot of knife makers on RUclips, I don't think I have ever seen one who works to the same standards as this guy though. Using a rotatary table to mill a perfect profile on the bolsters was a nice technique, and the finished knife is stunning.

Absolutely amazing, one of the most beautiful knives I've ever seen. I love everything about it. That feather pattern damascus is amazing how tearing something apart in a way destroying it and putting it back together can make something so beautiful. The composite damascus handle showing all the layers of color, the ionized liners, the file work, the blue and purple together, everything makes it absolutely stunning. It's knives like this one that make you understand why we collect knives that are never meant to be used for work. Wow I would love to have this knife. You definitely have a gift brother, keep posting your work, please.
