The hope is McKee is good enough that we can let Mariota go after this season, but if he’s not up to stuff yet he’d definitely pay another 9M for another year.
While I don't think Tanner McKee is completely terrible, and it's not a big deal given it was a 6th round pick, to replace Gardner Minshew with Marcus Mariota primarily because he couldn't run a Jalen Hurts offense to then draft a guy even further away from that than Gardner doesn't make a lot of sense.

Imagine drafting the same position, from the same program, back to back years, low in the 1st Round. C at best. The only truly great pick was Ringo. Otherwise, bad draft. They can't develop D Linemen properly. The only two good ones they've had in a decade have been out of Pittsburgh and Arozonas development.
Wtf are you even talking about? They’ve had a dominant defensive line for several years now because of how often they draft high in those areas. Fletcher Cox is getting old and Hargreaves is no longer on the team. The eagles run a 4 man front which mean they have 2 tackles on the field. They are geniuses for drafting before it became a genuine need.
@@temp-td2uk Hargrave was a product of Pittsburgh not Philadelphia. Fletcher Cox was passable but has never been great. He's been offered up many many times and nobody bit. Haason Reddick was drafted by the Cardinals. I repeat, The Philadelphia Eagles can not develop D Linemen. They can only buy ones that are already developed. Period. Name one single good Eagles drafted D Lineman. Don't say Cox either, he's trash.
@@temp-td2uk and your solution would be to draft your previous years 1st round picks Back up? Only started because Davis left. They literally play the same side which is my entire point. But y'all just goofballs
Jalen Carter is a child, and what's worse, he has real blood on his hands. You don't think offensive linemen will exploit his immaturity with some choice trash-talking? Carter made it through his legal wrist-slapping, but psychologically his fragility showed up in his Combine disappearing act and his atrocious Pro day workout. Getting under his skin shouldn't be hard for opposing players. Meanwhile, Nolan Smith, everyone's favorite workout warrior, is undersized for anything but off-ball linebacking. Steen made it into the 3rd round only because the OL class was so shallow, and Ringo was disowned by the UGA coaching staff, who accused him of having a lazy, "5 star mentality." The Eagles chose to overlook the red flags on all of these Georgia kids, but I don't see why we need to.
Real blood on his hands? He wasn't even in the car that people died in. And you call it a sign of fragility? Because he had a traumatic experience? I don't know you but your opinions speak volumes about you're own character or lack there of.
@@williamblackfyre4866 I don't think you understand complicity. If Jalen Carter wasn't in that other car, pushing the envelope, the accident would not have happened. Yes, he has been traumatized. I think a year or two away from football would be his best chance at healing. I'm just speaking to the emotional cluelessness of Philly in choosing this surely broken, unfortunate person.
But to your point, rereading my text, I apologize for the collateral damage my words inflicted upon Jalen Carter, who, you are right, is to be pitied. He's young, he made a very bad decision, and the consequences are real. I really just meant to question the consensus on the how fantastic the Philadelphia draft was. Not a good choice of words, I admit. Shame on me.
@Mark Sawyer I don't think complicity = blood on his hand though. I glad you agree that you're choice of words was...poor. I think their are red flags but everybody is different and everyone copes with trauma differently. Is it a risk, sure but every pick in the draft is a risk. If we are talking straight up talent, the Eagles walked away with a ton of it and you could argue moreso than anyone else, esspecially when you throw in Swift. Again a risk due to health reasons but this is football and people are bound to get hurt. You have to understand that the Eagles are an EXTREMELY talented team if not the most talented and they pay alot of money for it. This forces them to take risk, most of them are low risk, high reward. But that is how they are trying to find value. Greedy was a top prospect but often injured CB, same with Rashaad Penny at RB, Justin Evans at S....all these free agents have injury history but allowed thr Eagles to full holes for pennies on the dollar. And this also applies to trades and the draft, acquiring blue chip talent like Carter because some personal issues caused him to fall. Or getting DeAndre for a 4th round pick in 2025 because he might get hurt again. It's all about creating value and it could pay off in a big way. I also love what the Eagles did after round 1...Ringo lacks polish but could be a great saftey if he agrees to transition. Sydney Brown is an absolute sparkplug that lead the Illinois secondary. Steen, after a year or two at Stoutland U is the future RG. And Moro Ojomo is a sleeper pick if I ever saw one, tweener size for a DT with high motor and allows a ton of optional items. I'm a hard critic of past Eagles drafts, even last year when they nabbed AJ Brown....but even I can't find too many faults with the type of value they got with their picks.
@@williamblackfyre4866 I have no leg to stand on after my terrible post. Again, I apologize for my language. Best wishes to Carter and the Eagles moving forward...

Howie learned from the Reagor mistake. Doug was right to tank when he did & sd not have been fired. Eagles are the next dynasty.
Dallas Sucks
With the Eagles, the lesson is, find a late round QB while you have a starter you don’t want… so you can get capital for the guy you don’t want.
What starter do they not want?
Huh?
@@somelikeithot38 They snagged Hurts when they were cooling off on Wentz. That is what OP is referring to.
Sam rambles too much
PFF needs 2 new personalities. These guys ain’t it.
Cope 😂😂
"Don't say Cox. He's a great, obvious response that defeats my argument". Cox is not trash. He is old.
