Hi Sheree, This is my first visit to your channel. I stayed because I loved the fabric and the pattern you picked. You are a wonderful teacher. I am just starting for the first time since my high school school sewing projects eons ago. Your dress turned out beautiful and looks just perfect on. Love your soundtrack music. I wish this pattern had sleeves as I feel uncomfortable without them. Nevertheless, I just love everything about this episode. I am signing up to your channel and am looking forward to seeing what you have planned next! 😊 Bye for now, Anita
Hi. I’m glad you enjoyed this sew a long and appreciate your kind words. I have a sew a long coming showing how to make this with sleeves, so stay tuned! Take care, Sheree
Hi Sheree, what a great beginner pattern. You made it look easy! Beautiful fabric too. I used to always sew with cotton but lately I’ve been sewing with stretch knits. This video makes me reconsider cotton again. Great video. Have a great day!
Hi Lola! This was fun to make and wear. I was heavily sewing with knits for a while. Especially during the time when we had to be home-lots of lounge wear! But I love cottons, linens and wool! It’s great to mix it up. Happy Sewing!
I am so excited to have found this video. I ordered this pattern-actually the bundle with all the sleeves-and it will be arriving tomorrow. Just in time for me to make a perfect dress. yours is beautiful.
I just found your channel and I'm so happy. I have this pattern and haven't made it due to the directions. Now, I can. Thank you for this tutorial - you are a great teacher. (Greensboro, NC)
Very pretty dress and looks great on you! I've now put that pattern on my list to buy some day. Thanks so much for showing video of your wearing it. I'm also a larger woman and it's helpful to see dresses on the people who will be wearing them, to get a better perspective on the finished garment vs. just style lines on paper or a dress on a mannequin. ❤
Thank you for a great detailed process on this pattern. I've just bought it to make in a linen blend, and your tutorial has upped my confidence to give it a try. The Montana gets lot of negative comments because of the tricky assembly of the bodice, but you made it easy. Your dress is fantastic - great fabric choice!
I appreciate that. I tend to try to slow down when it’s meant for a true beginner, such as this video. I hope it helps anyone struggling with that step.
I have already made this dress and found it very complicated. I used double muslin which wasn’t ideal as it stretched badly and the skirt didn’t look gathered. With your excellent instructions I shall try again with plain cotton. Your material is lovely and suits your colouring. Thank you.
I’m sorry your first attempt didn’t work well but I’m so happy this video might help you with your second attempt. Please come back and let me know how it turns out. 🧵
Hi Sonya! I’m sorry, I accidentally deleted your comment while trying to respond. For the free motion quilting, I stitch in place when I start and stop. Then I clip the loose ends. Sorry about that!

I was wondering about that waste seam when you said serge. Serge seams are stiff but sewing it down helps😊
Thanks for visiting!
