@@MegaMbranch I don't think the panel at the Grammys know about this side of BTS they only know their English songs. How I wish someone would show this performance to them. All the other artists who let's face it are a bit weird really. I was extremely angry at the Scammys sitting our boys at the front and then filming their reaction as they watched someone else walk away with the Grammy that so obviously should have been theirs. Apparently they were told before they performed they hadn't won. Makes me so angry 😠

In that performance for the song Dyonisus (Greek God of Wine) the seven of them made an individual introduction, each one representing a Greek God. (V- Apollo Suga, Hephaestus- Jin, Pallas Athenea(It is also believed that he represented Ares God of war.)- JK, Poseidon- Jimin, Artemis- RM Dyonisus and JHope Zeus). I've seen indeed two theories about Jin representing Athena or Ares, and I think it makes more sense if he's Athena. Firstly cos he's on trojan horse, and Athena is linked to the origins of trojan war, due to a ... beauty contest between her , Aphrodite and I don't remember who else ( wouldn't a beauty contest fit with our WWH perfectly ? 😂) . Also the pairings in the dance break would fit : Jimin and V = the twins Artemis and Apollo ; Hobi and JK = the two brothers Zeus and Poseidon ; RM and Jin = Dionysus and Athena both Zeus's children and both born in an unusual manner from Zeus's body.
JK is a sub rapper. He used to rap in their old songs although he is not in rap line. Just like J-Hope is a sub vocalist. They are the Golden maknae and the Golden huyng.
MMA gave them 48 minutes to perform .. And BTS gave us this MASTERPIECE

The MMA and MAMA award show performances are all epic, no Western award show can compete! You should watch the other years too MAMA 2018 was awesome too, but 2019 really was their most epic award show performance to date! 💜

This production is just sensory overload... Jimins solo dance will forever be my favorite.
Jimin is amazing right😭 he's actually the top student of the arts highschool he went to, his major is modern dancing (arts high school have focus arts called major, one of their producers pdogg went to same arts high school as jimin and majored in music). But prior to that he spent most of his middle school street dancing then he decided to learn modern dancing as well. He's one of the main dancers of bts (jhope is the other one) and he's also lead singer
This is one of the best performances I ever seen. It’s true what they say, not every famous person is an artist and not every artist is a preformer, and BTS is all of those. This show is the epitome of performance, and the fact that it was an award show and they basically turned it in a BTS concert just proves further why they are where they are.
I believe that western artists do have the potential to reach this kind of performance, however it would requiere tons of effort, dedication and an amazing team. This is exactly why the Grammys needed BTS in their show.

checking the comments to see if someone has explained the hand gesture. That is their signature gesture when they introduce themselves as Bangtan (looks like a gun because they are the bulletproof boys -- their old logo was a bulletproof vest). The ending of Boy In Luv matches the ending of Boy With Luv (intentional, of course).

It’s off the scale isn’t it? When you said during “Boy with love” about how hard the singing and dancing live is , I thought your head will explode when you get to Dionysius !
Someone has already said Jimin was dancing to a slowed down version of “I need you”. It’s an important song in their back catalogue and begins the Bangtan Universe series, where each member has a fictional back story . It’s a thoughtful MV.
Jimin’s solo performance on this stage is iconic❤️ The beautiful melody is from “I need you”(2015), which is BTS’s first single that got the ranking top one on Korean’s music chart for the first time since their debut. Maybe we can get to see you react to that MV someday 😉💜

Imagine the exhaustment they must have felt for the entire performances but yet, they gave us a never ending energy from first to last, an incredible stages,graphics, sound epics, lighting. The production is insane, the choreography and the storyline. Their stage presence are overflowing. I am a Taehyung bias but in this performance, i literally drop my jaw. I really love their confidence level. I'm guessing that other idols and juniors must be very proud of them. What a great performances and great reaction indeed! 😍💜

I'm so happy this coincided with my lunch break😁 This in my opinion is one of the best live performances ever. The first time I saw it, i was convinced this was from a concert instead of an awards show.
MMA2019 Jimin's solo dance is really beautiful like an angel. That song isn't 'Black Swan', it's 'I need you'. This is BTS' 2015 title song that you haven't reacted to yet!

Let me tell u bro this is not the concert of BTS , this is a Award Show. I mean its OK to be confused bcz its look like BTS concert. And they show every one that day "Who is king and Who is boss?" Proud of them

This performance have many symbolic and references that are only recognized if you went through bts discography. RM open the performance with their intro:persona. Then they started with Boy in Luv (from skool luv affair in 2014) then straight to Boy With Luv, a corresponding track bts did in 2019. Both the choreo have the same ending, to show how the two songs are corresponding and related. Then with Mikrokosmos, a brief pause to show bts's love for fans, yes the y added some CGI, for the recorded version. But those effects are not seen for the live audience. BTS often do VCR for their live performances, like the intro and the one in between. They often included themes/ messages that are related to their current album at that time. For example, it was Map of the soul: Persona era during this time. The album is mainly about figuring who they really are. And these VCR have symbolism and references only ARMY can dissect, they also referencing past albums. Then the entire Dionysus performance was just EPIC. Each of them showcase a little bit of spotlight for each member, have references of the Greek history, but also the music used for each of their performance were like remixed version of their past and current title track: Taehyung; no more dream

This is one of the most epic live performance on this earth (that I've seen) tbh! BTS always turn award shows into their own concert 😭😂 THATS ON KINGS BEHAVIOUS
Fyi, bighit never officially release all of the remixes they used in live performance. They are only available to be heard through live performances. It's a shame cause they are such bops! I really hope one day they'll release of the concert/ live performance remixes.

Yes BTS award shows is like a concert. It's an award show but there's so many ARMYs with the Army bombs and BTS's energy and performance . This is my favorite award show ever! BTS MMA 2019 live performance.
Crazy, right? By far my favorite BTS performance. I can only imagine how tired they were at the end. This was not the end of the show (I once watched the whole thing). There were other performances that followed (would not want to be them) and BTS still had to go on stage to accept two (I think it was two) more awards after this performance. First time watching your reaction. I really felt that you enjoyed the performance and appreciate all the hard work that went into putting on such a show. This is an award show. The young men you see in the audience that the camera showed are other idol artist, the first ones you saw were BTS brother group TXT, they are on the same label with BTS, a new group rookies at the time of this performance. The young men who were fascinated by the leopard were another group of idols I can’t remember their name right now. The audience is made up of other idol groups who also received awards earlier that night. BTS is the premier group so they get the longest time allotment to carry out their stage, because they are the best they get to perform last, they swept the awards that night. Also in attendance are fans of the idol groups as you can see and hear ARMY is definitely in the house. If I have errored here someone will correct me, this is the best of my knowledge. By the way it’s fun watching your reaction and excitement at watching BTS, they are always awesome and always deliver supreme performances. You may enjoy their 2018 MMA stage performance of Idol, it’s also mind blowing. Nice job reacting.👍🏽👏🏼🔥🥰
I am so glad you liked it. Asia is much more advanced than our western countries in big productions specially award shows. And BTS is performing at this shows for years. Really talented and creative. I love every second of this MMA. 💜
This MMA is memorable to me personally, since I fell in love to them in that very year (thanks to Boy With Luv). So imagine how happy and lucky I was to witness this super amazing stage performance.

A wee bit more info about the Dionysus performance. Dionysus is the Greek God of Fertility and wine and was later known as a patron of the arts. Someone has already mentioned the Gods which each member represents . The lights which came down with each member represents the 7 stars in the Corona Borealis constellation. The song is open to interpretation but many think it refers to them and their stardom and maintaining artistic integrity in the creative process while not getting drunk on fame. That fits with Dionysus as a patron of the arts and God of Wine.

Back to the beginning....first song, RM raps 'Persona' which is the introduction song to all of Map of the Soul. You haven't seen it yet.....so you should watch it AND follow it with the explanation video on DKDKTV which explains the Carl Jung theory .... how BTS uses it.....and you'll then find all of the songs in the series are connected to it; i.e., black and white, shadows, egos, and persona, conflicts of self...masks, etc. I just started watching so back to the video....so GLAD you are doing this one!! All of their MMA and MAMA performances are epic! This one is still my favourite but also love the special Dynamite dance break on MMA 2020.
I know several comments explain the 7 gods but in case no one mentioned this it was a celebration of 7 years (2013 - 2019) of the 7 boys. Into Persona was the first song with just RM and from the latest Map of the Soul album at that time. Boy in Luv and Boy with Love followed. The first was about teenage luv and the second about finding the love that comes from inside and finding joy in life. The 7 short introductions, one for each member were remixes of 7 songs, one from each of their 7 year and showing the aspect of the god they were portraying all coming together for Dionysis, the god of wine and parties. The 7 lights that come one for each individual intro form the Corona Borealis constellation (Northern crown) which represents the crown given by Dionysis to Ariadne, his wife. Hope that helps 💜

Mikrokosmos was actually pre-recorded so they could change clothes and the set. JK's solo was pre-recorded because of the water, but he came on stage and danced along with it.

You got it 100%, only BTS can pull it off like that! The fact that this is not even a concert, it is an award show. Their Grammy performance was nothing compared to this and that is why even with just less than a day practice with all 7 of them, it still came out perfect.
