A side note, the Alster isn t a Lake it s a river. Its dammed it with looks. In former Times it was used to transport items from the harbor into the City. Some of the canals still exist and some main roads today were canals then.

with the Graffiti especially the signatures it seem to be a contest who makes the ugliest in the most unexspected areas. ones there was a sprayer who had been run over by a train because he wanted to make his sign there

Fun fact: In some cities here, it is customary to regulate how advertisements and store signs should look on the outside of the building. In my home town, we also have an ancient historic town center and here all the store names are painted directly on the wall in a certain font. This serves to maintain the general image. So no neon signs or posters. This also applies to chains such as supermarkets, banks, telecom stores, and H&M. Even if they have a globally standardized design concept, they have to adapt to the rules in these specific cities. Some cities use decorated metal signs or engraved wood. I think that's great, and in many cases, it looks nicer. But sometimes it's also a bit funny when you see Telekom lettering painted on a wall in a squiggly font. It looks very unreal.

11:00 no. The Ulmer Münster Church in Ulm is with 161 metres higher as the St Michael in Hamburg. If you search only for the highest church tower in Germany. Not the highest building. The Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt is with 259m the highest building in Germany.

Hamburg has a big alternative scene. No big deal with the graffiti. In some quarters they are part of the culture, in some others it's a cats and mouse game between cleaning and new graffiti. An endless circle. Most parts of Hamburg are graffiti-free, so, as I said, no real issue.
Gangs, that kind you think, you will not find in Hamburg.
If you like that brick buildings, Hamburg has thousands of them 🙂
