Hello, I am KC4ZZE, This is what Ham radio is about, sharing experiences and knowledge to advance the art. I needed a way to rotate the hexbeam remotely 200 miles away from the shack using a RCA VH226E antenna rotator. I came up with a solution after giving it a lot of thought. I purchased a WIFI IR hub and manually programmed the hub training it with the VH226E’s RCA handheld remote control as an experiment. It worked! I can now rotate the hexbeam from my cell phone turning it North, East, West, and South controlling the VH226E Antenna Rotator from my android cell phone using the Tuya App. The IR hub is freely supported by the Tuya app. I watch from two remote cameras to see the inside rotator box and outside antenna rotator operate and turn as I use the Tuya app. The AC power to the inside RCA VH226E box is a manual switch on the side of the box. I set the switch to permanent on position and plugged into a Kasa AC outlet. Now I can rotate my antenna from any where in the world with WIFI connection.

the PVC you're using is uv proof. It's electrical schedule 40. And it's nice you matched the clors to the manual. But it really doesn't matter as long as 1=1 & 2=2 etc as long as it the same color on both ends

I have an RCA VH226F rotator which has stopped rotating. I've had it up going on three years. I suspect the issue is with the controller since there is no voltage across the cable contacts when the controller is engaged. Do you know where I can send it for repair?

@@Thejohnnyoshow Please do. I'd like to know if it has one. In the meantime, it started working again when we warmed up from some very frigid temperatures here. While I don't believe it was frozen by snow or ice (we had a full day of abundant sunshine which usually melts things around here), an Amateur radio friend had issues with his Ham rotator. He theorized the freeze had congealed the lubricant in the rotator motor. Perhaps that's what happened to my RCA. However, just to be on the safe side, I ordered a new rotator and controller from Amazon. At least now I'll have a back up.

Hi, I’m planning to set this combination up. How are they doing together so far? Thx

its working well. If you have not already purchased the rotor, remember the mag loop has a 30 day return policy, its a little inconvenient but you can manually rotate the antenna to test to make sure it does what you need before investing in the rotor. you will defiantly want the rotor if you find the antenna does the job for you and this one does work well. www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=thjoosh09-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=ada9b8e78d6e382a047c03b3b9c37e82&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=aps&keywords=antenna%20rotor

The Johnny O Show Great, I’ll go in that way. Main reason for trying this Magloop is for fighting the strong led noise my IC710 dipole is picking from the street. Thanks for your feedback.

noise even got worse for me here. i have added also the mfj1026. i have the magloop on the aux side of the 1026 and my transmit on the main side. now i can either listen with just my magloop or my transmit or there at times that my transmit only picks up the power line. and the mag loop can not get rid of it all so I use the mfj1026 to phase the rest of that noise out. i have added and will be adding a lot more videos as i continue fight noise but the mag loop has been the biggest weapon against it so far

The downfall of this is that the 3 rotator wires don't have connectors to make a secure connection, I had an old Zenith rotator setup that the 3 wires shorted out at the box and blew the motor on the mast... This one has a clamp under the box but that's not good enough, a socket conector would be bullet proof as the wires are so close to each other and very thin, they will break off short out and poof! goes your mast motor.

It annoys me that the bolts are too long and you have to use nuts to secure it.
