  • How to Make a Stone Age Axe- No talking. Sometimes the easiest way to learn I just through observation. Watch as I make a small Neolithic Axe. Observe hard and soft percussion strokes, platform preparation, pressure flaking and lots of stone reduction. Take what you know or don’t know and use this video to help guide you in your Flintknapping journey.

I enjoy the noises but I prefer your newer videos because I think it helps to understand what’s going on. Everyone learns differently I suppose. Love your content. I’m slowly getting through all of it 🤘🏻

Been watching a lot of your content of late. Applaud how many of the primitive skills you've rediscovered, & perfected.👍 I noticed how many uses you have for an elk. Got me wondering... Do you hunt most of your own game? And if so, how do you harvest an elk? Bow? Spear? Rifle?! Enjoy the channel man.👌👊

@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks Fascinating differing hammer stones, hammer bone.. differing blows, fascinating. i live not far from an old Algonquin flint mine. the mine was active for 100's of years and was thought to have had a hundred workers making stone tools. the mine in the hill and the work area on the flat below. Must have been something ... thanks again man thanks .. J

Man, hair tying is a must ! :D
I was hoping you would maybe test this axe, haft it and then do some chopping
Afterwards maybe grind and polish the edge only , and do a comparison, like neolithic mesolithic standoff idk, just dropping some video ideas :)
Love the format, keep it up!
    Cheers!

    Great video
Only guy on yt that records the whole making proces
I once tried to do this but i used rock from river
Its very soft and i dont recomend making tools with this kind of rock
And if you see this, can you tell me if its possible for you to make lether armour with stone plates, bcz it would be cool to see one
    Love from serbia

Using bone as armor was done in many stone age civilizations. Stone for as hard as it is, is pretty brittle. One good wack with the right weapon and your armor is now useless. Bone on the other hand is great for that purpose.
