Why do some C/O keep disch valve of deepwell pump all the time even below 50% open for full rate? Shouldnt they open it to 100% (except for the stripping phase) and keep on adjusting filling valve? Thank you in advance for explanation.
This would give the pumps a stable amperage (electric driven) and likewise pressure discharge output. Also, when the level is down to stripping, the pumps wobble, cavitation may damage your pumps impeller or the pump as a whole. The Bernoulli's principle is very much in action to this effect. Watch the other video I uploaded about centrifugal Pumps. Good point raising such question.
In short, closing the discharge even to less 50% is in fact giving you easier controlled discharge rate and pressure output whilst opening to full may give you also higher rate, using the filling valve can also do the trick but you have be aware and watchful when using it. Check on your Cargo Pumps manual as this may not be the case sometimes. The amperage load may raise some eyebrows with engine department "heard it from other fellow, the C/E meddling with C/O" operation of the pumps 😄😄😄
love ur videos sir as a 1st timer in a LPG vessel

Thank You so much for explanation!😊
Sir good day. May i ask, what if the pressure keep reducing during discharging. How will you increase the pressure of tanks. Thank you
Its discussed under LPG/C Ship Cargo Operations Part 7C.
subtitles!thanks
Done! Kindly, pass it on if you think its worth sharing. This would motivate me to more lectures in the future.
