@@ammagon4519 the battle was just starting out. Groudon would have been stirring up underwater volcanoes to create more landmass/make certain areas too hot for kyogre to swim. Also GBA graphics were limited

Thank you! That was the answer I needed, because although I played Alpha Sapphire, I never played/seen the original (first) Hoenn games, so I didn't get why they show Groudon outcornered like this here.

Kyogre might have a type advantage, but they are both basically gods.
The only things above them in that hierarchy is Rayquaza, Xerneas, Yveltal, Mew, the Space-Time trio and Arceus himself.

the wind over the ocean is especially turbulent, making helicopter travel dangerous. kyogre's storm wind only adds insult to injury.

See I always assumed that groudon would set off the underwater volcanoes to create land mass . But he would set off some version old faithful and actually fuck over the planet . More land mass sounds nice since the planet is 75% ocean we don’t need more water . But good fertile land is always good in theory.
@@chaoticlady_fairy in theory sure. In practice Maxie's plan was 7 flavors of insane. So much of Earth's biosphere is dependent on the balance of the ocean. Our weather, the jetstream, the amount of UV radiation reflected, all of that is a byproduct of the ocean. Plankton, or whatever the pokemon equivalent of it, is responsible for 70% of our oxygen production. Changing the balance of an entire planet is actually monstrous. Maybe not quite as monstrous as those guys in Sinnoh attempting to summon actual satan in an attempt to remake the universe because human emotions are too confusing but it's pretty up there.
Both leaders of Aqua and Magma team were insane! The balance and Ocean an Earth is neccesary to maintaing the usual life. With so little ocean, the water cicle would be mess up and the seaweeb that makes the most oxigen in the earth would be almost depleated. And to little Earth means also messing the producction of mineral, oxigen and organic matter also necesary for life in oceans to exist. Not to me tion the importance of Earth formation like mountain with water fountains that by precipitación and Gravity permits the precense of Oxigen in sweet water.

Something seems weird about Sootopolis in general. First of all it's quarantined from the rest of the world and you can only get in or out by diving underwater or flying from above. The "Soot" in the name makes me think of factory pollution. And the default music that plays there sounds sad.
