Just picked up an S10 e and plan on going the Commuter case. I am coming from an iPhone 6s, 5s and two Blackberrys ALL protected with Otterbox series cases and not a single crack to any of those phones. I cannot count how many times that I’ve dropped ALL these phones whilst on job sites as I delivery to tradies on both commercial and domestic projects (I use a Defender for work life / Commuter for weekends / Strada for style) They cater to all walks of life. You just cannot beat Otterbox when it comes to protection, they are simply the best hands down. Great video mate!
I had the clear otterbox symmetry for my Galaxy s9 and let me tell you , forget about yellow, the rim of the case turns damn near brown. Also scratches are far more visable on the back of the clear case. It pretty much makes the case useless over a short period of time. Also the cutout that goes around the rear camera was poorly designed in my opinion. I literally dropped my phone from below knee hight, and the steep angled ridges from the cutout is what caused the back of my phone to shatter! Thank god they fixed this issue for the s10 symmetry case. I learned my lesson when it comes to clear cases, I've been rockin the black symmetry case for my s10 and its flawless , I love it. Bottom line is I wouldn't recommend the clear case , black one Yes definitely. I can fully understand why someone would get the clear case to have the back of the phone visable, that's why I had got it. But it didnt take long for me to regret not getting the black one. But everyone has their preference , just a quick heads up.
I have all three cases just to try them out... and the commuter is the one that feels the best in the hands... but mine is a pink variant and I'm afraid the outer rubbery part is going to discolor once in the pockets... it's already started to. Shouldve gotten it in black I suppose. The otterbox defender was too bulky for my liking and the symmetry I got in violet, while I seem to like it enough, I prefer the slightly more bulky commuter more.
Very nice review. With the pursuit it supposedly angles the sound coming out of the speaker. Did you test that? I'm thinking about getting that and it would be nice to know your opinion on that. I like how you opened the aux port on the pursuit to show how much space there is for connectors. You should have done that with the charging port as well.
i have commuter for s10, i like it.if you look carefully..the port cover for commuter is more reliable than the defender thats why i didnt choose defender

I'm getting a defender for my s10 I dropped my old lg G6 defender off a 10 ft latter to a concrete floor. Only damage i personally ever suffered was my clip snapped off the back of my belt because my phone got caught up and on something once but no phone damage like screen smashes or anything hopefully my s10 will be the same. I had the Spigen tough armour as my first case but decided the get the commuter since I had a $50 gift card for Amazon. Spigen is a great case looks sleek and is protective but the Otterbox's lip and edges seem higher than the Spigen one and feels like a more heavy duty case without much of any extra bulk or weight. Definitely glad I got the Commuter. But if you don't have the money for one Spigen is an excellent choice
Hello. I'm wondering if you help me with a question. I have a samsung S10, but the 2019 one. That is smaller than the 6.1 screen. Do you know if Otterbox has any cases for this size? Or do you know of any other cases that would be good for this phone. Also, I have a curved screen and am having a hard time with any raised bezel cases to protect this phone. I've had my Defender case since August 2017, almost three years, have you found the outer skin tends to lose its elasticity and doesn't fit as snug? Or have they changed the design since the S8+?
Hey, owner of both an s8+ defender and s10+ defender, I haven't had the skin peel away yet but lowkey it doesnt seem any different. The s8+ took a year or so to really separate from the body, so we'll see for this one but the hopes arent high as I'm already noticing the bottom edge loosening.

I'd go with the defender I have it the only negative is if you take your cases off and on alot the rubber will start to get loose by the ports and it annoys me. I'm getting the black or green symmetry
Stay clear of the symmetry series if you want actual protection. That $40 case is no better than a $15 flea market case. I cracked my screen on my s8 with a front face drop, and my buddy is rockin his cracked s9 still in his otterbox symmetry (yes it cracked with it on). I am also careful with my phone.
night stalker I have the clear symmetry case and I want a defender or a more protective one, but since it’s 40 bucks I’m not allowed to buy another one. I had a 2 layer protective one for my last phone and it survived drops all the time
@@fishey1371 just be careful with the phone. If you have the s10e it should be perfectly fine, but if you have curved edges on the phone you will be pushing your luck with a drop that lands face first.
I actually have been looking for a good phone case for my s10+, I cracked my screen on my ph. dropping from my hand to a waist high counter. So I heard Otter has amazing phone cases. So I started looking on RUclips and found your review. Amazing review video, I would suggest maybe putting the the phone up close to the camera so we can see the details in the case. Still great review, I think I'm sold!
Go for poetic revolution. They are the only company who had the balls to tell their sponsors to drop test their cases. These guys are that confident and top of all, the drop test were all positive.
I need to find a tempered glass screen protector that is compatible with The Defender case for the galaxy S10 Plus. Anybody know of any that will work without fit issues?
Do these cases (ALL OF THEM) fit with the whitestone dome glass? I know with the s9 series, they touched, so when it was dropped the screen protector was lifted up. I just want to know before I drop $70 on a case that wont work. I would love to have a UAG Case but I need the ports to be covered
I can tell you from experience that the DEFENDER does not fit the S10+ with the Whitestone Dome Glass. It pulls the glass off the phone when in the case.
I have the otterbox defender pop socket. Its alot more slim than the actual defender but it still adds the same protection and weight. Just looks alot better
Interesting. Did you get a special unreleased version of the otterbox pursuit case with a built in screen protector ? I'm seeing on the otterbox website public reviewers are complaining about the pursuit not having a built in screen protector and how they are disappointed. Then otterbox support replies that they are sorry and how none of their otterbox line has built in screen protectors, recommending they people buy the alpha screen protector.
I have the samsung galaxy s10 and the otter box isn't protective at all. Or thos glass is the thi best ever. I could drop my iPhone and know it wasn't going to crack. The rubber that holds the phone tight into place on my Otterbox case went yellow. The actual case stayed clear. This was for an S8 so not sure if this has been corrected
So what I have experienced with the defender series, is since it has that rigid inner core, it's scratches the screen if no protector on it. It has also cracked my screen because of that same rigid inner core. If you have a gorilla glass or any screen protector that same inner core tends to lift that protector. I like the defender series, but is there any solution to these issues I've experienced?

Every single one of these models has side edges that are flush with the phone's surface, protecting _nothing._ Obviously so they don't interfere with the gimmicky curved edges. But that's still a design choice. There are other cases out there that actually manage to protect the entire edge.
I had a defender series for my old phone. It was big and bulky. Kinda overkill. So, I decided to order a commuter case for my s10+. It seems slimmer and more comfortable to fit in my hand
This is exactly what i want to know. I know for the S9 series they didnt. It borderlined the dome glass and pushed it up everytime the side if the case was push on, ie from a drop

Me too.....but always broke when i dropped the belt clup without the phone installed....also after a while the clip that attaches the belt clip to the phone wears out.....and your phone starts to fall from the belt clip...almost lost it twice.....replaced the belt clip with a new one.....mine also had that plastic see through screen protector.....

The thicker cases wont allow you to reverse wireless charge the gear buds. I'm not sure about the watch, but it does work for reverse charging phones

I bought the symmetry transparent. You mentioned that it never get yellowish. Few days after of use, my case is turning to yellowish.

I bought a Supcase that was nearly identical to Otterbox, covered all the ports, and was only a fraction of the cost.

The Pursuit is about the same size as Commuter but much more protective as the sides are raised above screen all around.

Does it wireless charge efficiently tho?
It splits the power around the charge devices. It's not fast charging like Samsung devices. But it's Apple fast. The pd charger is good though

My defender works with wireless charging but one thing to note is that it doesn't work for wireless power share from the device
I have the defender on my s10 plus and it works very well. You just have to find that "sweet" spot which can be done easily

Why didn't you check reverse wireless charging??
The Pursuit works with reverse wireless charging but the Defender does not.
My s10 plus in the defender case works with reverse charging another device flawlessly
