I think the reason why this hasn’t been fielded yet is because cost, maintenance, and it’s not marine proof. No matter how marine proof you make something that one marine will always manage to break it
Actually, they did. The pack was dropped from different heights with varying weight inside. First rule when developing equipment, ask what a salty lance would do. - Cpl. Filipowicz
I thought the same thing as you before I put one on. Actually, you go up and down and the pack stays in the same place. I could feel the difference immediately and wished I had one of these on a 20 mile hump.
gameprototype Lmao this is stupid ! Like to see what your going to do on uneven terrain ? Sounds great until your on 40% incline or deployed to take a beach front and you get electrocuted . So why your in a boat every soldier falls over cause of a tide and gets mowed down by wave of guns .
Why not put the electrical generator as an externally connected device to any existing backpack [the up/down motion electrical generating device could still work but doesn't require the whole backpack to move up/down- say just a small additional load could drive the up/down device]. That way the soldier/marine is happy with his/her familiar backpack and the geared up/down generator works independent of the backpack. Being separate from the backpack allows for generating electricity when stationary - using say a hand crank or portable water or wind turbine to drive the small generator. Finally, running or jumping using the new backpack could be both painful when the backpack bottoms out and not very stealthy if it's noisy - just a thought. Stay safe and God bless you.
Defeats the purpose of the weight shifting mechanism and also adds more weight to an already heavy load. I believe the goal that was set out for this was that it would potentially work hand in hand with an exo-frame which is wildly out of reasonable grasp.
But can it be thrown in and out of an MTVR over and over and over again? Would the generation/storage of electricity be an issue during fueling operations? Let the Howas buy it first.
I'll tell you what, that woman with 60 pounds on her back is awesome. Now the hard truth is that it can't possibly make the pack feel lighter. It would be pushing against you, not with you. Stand on a scale, then jump on a scale. You'll see. If by some off chance it makes it lighter as it goes up, it would be heavier coming down, so it would be a wash. In reality, It would actually make it feel heavier most likely. Simple physics. What they would need is to invent a robot drone to carry it for you.
uhhh because a lighter load means marines can be more combat effectiv??? this pack allows marines to carry less batteries because it charges the batteries they already have, as well as the fact that it bounces makes it feel lighter.
two questions you have to ask yourself when engineering gear for Marines: can a Marine Break it? does it require math to operate? If you answered yes to any of these questions, your product is unfortunately not for the Marine Corps.
I’ve spent the last 5 years in the infantry. I can promise you that absolutely none of this shit was ever even seriously considered to issue to infantry units. Just a pony show. It’s sad

*Marine
If by that one Marine you mean all Infantry Marines, then yes. We break worthless shit.
It’s been 4 years since this video never saw any of this
Make it 5
And never saw the exoskel leg thing and the suport gunner ammo pack
6
Make it 6
It's been 2 years since this comment and I just saw this
Did they test its durability to senior marines throwing it off the third or fourth deck? Didn't think so.
Actually, they did.

Looks like they told you.. Haha
Orrah! Semper Fi
HAHA that is awesome! Hazing proof nice!
gotta pass the Salty Lance test or it gets s##t canned in the Unit.
@@marines Very well then. Carry on.
Wait until it starts electrocuting grunts and they'll love it.

sooo.. when' we getting them hover-tanks?
CoyDK DK Tanks are falling out of favor. I doubt it'll be anytime soon even if they develop the technology.

Sooo... wanna say Oof or give a big F to tanks ? /:
iam so proud of all of you that put your selfs on the line for me every day no matter what thank you
This seems like a good excuse for daily trips up the alpha shelf
GIVE ME THIS ALREADY! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM MEEEEEEEEEE?!? ITS BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE THIS VIDEO CAME OUT AND MY BACK WANTS TO QUIT.
Great idea to be able to harvest energy via troop movement (pun intended)
7 years ago where is the backpack
That up-down moment the pack makes seem like they'll be annoying as fuck in humps.
I thought the same thing as you before I put one on. Actually, you go up and down and the pack stays in the same place. I could feel the difference immediately and wished I had one of these on a 20 mile hump.

Its been 5 years. Where’s my backpack?! My back hurts
Uh... where's your cover devil dog ?!
Honest feedback. Legit
Never got any
I just tested my Beiswenger, and it's ready to rock.

Well the movement of the pack makes it easier to carry. Also the movement of the whole pack generates alot more energy than just a external generator

God Bless The United State's Marine's, Military, Air Force's..🇺🇸🇺🇸🌎🌍🌏🇺🇸🇺🇸😇
Marines can't even get decent toilet paper to use, let alone these lightning packs...
I kind like this for camping charging stuff while hiking.
I'd be curious to know how this pack holds up under a straight up get your ass off the burner full out sprint.
that intro😂😂
Is the additional weight of a fancy gizmo outweighing the weight of batts? Also it’s more moving stuff that can break in real rough situatioma
Sand is gonna get in that mechanism and seize it up in 2 minutes.
Guess from what I hear, this is gonna save me alot of trouble when I finally join 😂
She's adorable and could probably kick my ass too. Love it!
most likely not, as she's a person other than grunt.
Paul Fire how are you going to tell him when he admitted to it himself? lol
nice clip
That is future space Corps crazy
She's hot
true
she may be, but she's a marine girl so good luck!
rah.
Get solar powered come on
You could be easily spotted by the enemy with solar pad on
Justin Gray Most SF missions are at night.
If this is work as intended then maybe we need to increase the length of the training rucking.
It’s been 6 years since this video and nothing yet
That is in Del Mar
future of power armor ha
What Marines think: "It sucks"
i want that equipment .
just what i want, a pack that moves on my back... jesus
That voice what in the hell
Wonder how much power it can generate. When you put a Desert queen on it.... the power to Court martial your ass lol
But can it be thrown in and out of an MTVR over and over and over again? Would the generation/storage of electricity be an issue during fueling operations? Let the Howas buy it first.
Helloo..i would like to watch full star delta connection and it's controls in English version
Are these only core issue or can civilians purchase them as well?
Great concept, but I wouldn't wear one this early in development,
Adorei a mochila muito boa!
why do you still run on a thredmill when you have all that free ground
YES plz field this. marines would be less prone to injuries aswell
well ain't that just slicker than bat shit:D

It’ll break the first time I dump it at my first rest break.
Why lighten the load when you're supposed to have a set amount of weight when you go out on patrol?
uhhh because a lighter load means marines can be more combat effectiv??? this pack allows marines to carry less batteries because it charges the batteries they already have, as well as the fact that it bounces makes it feel lighter.
Boa ideia

Sort of wave-front tech.
Tell the walking mattress to take that shit off and let recon force recon or 5th marines test that shit
hey all right. Sounds good to know and I know you know you're not a day's Venture right travel and train
less pain
Idk, a loose pack that moves around is not ideal for actual rucks
Alice pack rule
Nothing with more moving parts then an m4 Is marine proof
"marines can stay in the field LONGER"....bro, has it ever occurred to you that they don't want to stay that long in the boonies?
Great idea, but don’t Marines wear covers outside anymore?
Can Grunts ACTUALLY wear this with kit? Will I have to make a shit ton of FLIPLs for this? 🤔
Does that girl come with it?
I WANT ONE!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🗽🔫
Rick and Morty, mini verse ,
Just take my fucking money :P
