I may go for the AMD option, coz RT & PT is a never-ending game of upgrades and waste of $$$ (& doesn't look a lot better than pure rasterization)!

Just bide your time, once AGI takes hold it will recode every game from the ground up such that its so optimized it won't matter if you have a GTX 1050 or a 5090, it will still destroy any game graphics we have today.

It will cost way more and outperform it by quite some distance so you have to compare it to rtx 5070/ti I don't think you have to sell now since i wouldn't expect the used market prices to drop significantly But that is just my personal guess from past experience

I game at 3440x1440p@100hz, so don't think would really need an upgrade but still second guessing if I should have waited for the 5090 launch, but even then supply stabilizing and various factors to get it all the way to my country would take months potentially. Would have had to stick with my Asus tuf rtx 3090 for another 6 months or so. The 5080 wouldve been my ideal even if it had 20 gb vram, but 16gb is just stupid on 2025 and a couple of years beyond.

The 4080 is a slightly better 4070 Ti imo, Sell it and get the 5080 and sell it NOW before its to late I mean the 4080 is a good card but it hits more for 1440p / entry level 4k i wasn't blown away with it
I'm looking forward to a potential B770 too, but it is wishful-thinking to expect the B770 will even compete with the 5080. Think more in line with the RTX 4070/super, MAYBE the 4070 ti if we get lucky.
@@nicksterba I don't agree with that. B580 is almost matching 4060ti 16gb with launch drivers. PCIe 4.0 x8 (REBAR). B770/B780 would be on PCIe 5.0 x16 (direct access). That's 5 x the bandwidth. Wattage predicted is 250-275W. Pair that with 285k and CUDIMM. The L2 extreme for 285k is 295W. INTEL architecture you split the tasks so your graphics performance comes from 570W max. Same for 5080 is 400W because AMD/Nvidia cards don't share tasks with CPU. CPU only feeds the GPU. REBAR/direct access/E Cores makes zero gain. B580 for example this gain is up to 50%. Alchemist it is up to 30%. INTEL ARC you need to count the CPU also and with CPU you get RAM and with RAM you get CUDIMM that gives +20% gains. INTEL on INTEL also gives a good performance boost. Tests also give very misleading results when there is two different architectures. I get better game play with half the FPS on A770 at 4k vs 4070ti. INTEL picture also is sharper and better and smoother.

I would say to beat B770/B780 launch because these are on same level but 1/3rd of the price.
