Good progress Shawn, how are you enjoying the vertigo?

I absolutely love it. Idk if I would personally like the standard model, or anything older then a R2. As for my R2 though it has been great. I've had a few small problems that the importer has promptly taken care of without issue. I love the efi. Some riders don't care if their bike is running rich on a hot day, or lean on a cold day. They ignore their bike knocking, or hesitating or whatever. Those things drive me crazy. Living in Indiana and the big temp swings we see during spring and fall I love the overall consistency of the bike. I also opted for the wifi system. That means I can quickly make timing or fueling adjustments if I feel the need. Normally I don't but there have been a few times like say a day with moderately warm temps but super high humidity. Those days I have a map I load because the bike doesn't pick up on the rich condition caused by humidity. Overall though I've felt very little need t fiddle with much. I will fit firmer springs over the winter. I am short but hefty lol. The bike has done good, but I noticed the other day the bump stop on the Rieger has gotten pretty thrashed. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. A general overview would have me say it feel Beta-ish in rider position and stance on bike, but the Vertigo is longer in wheelbase. The Vertigo also feels overall more responsive in throttle and reacts quicker to rider input as far as handling. Clutch is a little lighter than my 2019 factory Scorpa and has a bit more feel. The Vertigo is heavier feeling in the front then a Scorpa/Sherco or TRS. My R2 has added flywheel weight as part of the stock design. Despite this it doesn't feel like it. Personally I would like a little more weight in the flywheel. Not because the bike is hard to control,it is amazingly nice actually, but just to have a bit more stored energy on tap when dropping the clutch. It takes a bit more RPM than my Scorpa for techniques that rely solely on flywheel energy. I will also say the Vertigo does have a lot more top end power and doesn't drop off as soon as either of my Scorpas. Not like I'm good enough to effectively use it, but it is something you notice just goofing off and revving the bikes out. Love the ease of airfilter maintenance. Trade off is a bit harder (still easy) to access spark plug. Full engine rebuild can be done with engine still mounted to frame. Same with transmission bearings. Some cool stuff. I've been really lucky to have owned some great bikes in my short time riding trials. Each one has had things I liked and some things I straight up hate. Vertigo is no different, but I haven't ridden another bike that makes me wish I owned it instead. Do really like TRS and that was actually what I was going to buy before a last minute impulsive decision to get a Vertigo. No regrets though ! Very impressed with my R2.

Incase anyone else reads this I want to clarify a comment I made. I have ridden a 2021 Works 250 which is the standard model using the R2 airbox upgrade from the year earlier. It was a nice bike and surely more capable than I'll ever be. I prefer the power delivery of my R2. The R series bikes have mods to make them faster revving and a bit more powerful but then they also add some weight to the flywheel to balance out the increased power and faster response. For my style the R mods fit me better. I don't mean to say the standard bikes are bad or undesirable. My wife rode the standard 250 and thought it was real nice. I've seen video of the standard models being ridden at levels I could only currently dream of. Anyway just wanted to clarify it is a personal preference thing and not a "the bike sucks" thing.

@@shawnmcginnis2508 thanks so much for the detailed ownership experience!
I also like the idea of FI for changing alt and temps etc.
I do find the different models from different years very confusing, i would probably looking for a good used 6/12 month old bike i think.
I have had an old beta evo 250 and a montesa 4rt cota 260, id say im torn between going for a tryed and trusted new beta evo 250 or a vertigo as they are interesting and id like to try one at some point even tho my riding wouldn't warrant such a good bike lol.

@@rh_8599 The great thing is all the modern big name bikes are pretty great. My EVO was a 2014. A great bike and way more capable than me. My complaints with it were mostly in the lightning quick clutch, and the fact it was always grabbing pretty bad no matter what I did. I also didn't like how fast the filter got dirty, but it was easy to service :) The rear mud guards are pricey too. Hopefully I don't sound too anti-Beta. I really did like mine on the whole.I wish Beta would do some more advancements as I feel they have gotten lazy on their forward motion. Maybe fit the normal braketec stuff, switch to a diaphragm clutch, stuff like that. They are a good bike, but just getting old in my opinion. For somebody who is really happy with them, but has the money to buy the almost exact bike just with new graphics and fresh bearings that very thing might be a huge plus.
I got my Vertigo from the other side of the country and my first time seeing one was when I unboxed mine. They are $$$. Seeing them up close you can see why to some degree. Plus they are a small run batch of bikes compared to other brands. I sold my Beta and a street bike I was no longer riding to help buy mine. I can't say weather it is worth the price or not to somebody else, but for me I think it was. Next year they should be releasing their next generation model. I believe it will have electric start. My wife may very well end up on one.
If you look at Vertigo I would highly recommend the works 21 model, or a R2, R3, or Busto. A 2020/2021 DL12 would be a great bike to depending on your style.
The quick breakdown of the models is..
      2021 Works21 (standard model). 2020/2021 R2 (factory model).
2020/2021 Busto (R2 with some mid-midseason improvments, maybe a hotter map, and custom paint/graphics to honor Jamie Busto).
2021/2022 R3 (next generation of R series bike and the last one in line before the newest generation of Vertigo is launched)
2020/2021 DL12. (Lampkin replica fitted with all the nice goodies, but slightly mellowed compared to the R2 by way of different throttle body, heavier fww, and probably different mapping.)
Hope that helps clear up the confusion some.
I would say ride one and see what ya think if possible. I really like mine, but everyone is different. For me I love how smooth the bike is especially under a load (like sidehill maneuvers) and how much confidence it inspires in me. Also note I went into purchasing mine knowing there may be a learning curve with all the tech/electrical stuff on the bike, and also knowing in my case I am my own mechanic as the closest dealer is at least a 9hr drive or so.
No matter what ya pick, best of luck and look forward to hearing from ya someday about your new bike :)

Thanks Tom! Got another one coming if it ever finishes uploading lol. Had a blast working on some new double logs yesterday! Hoping I don't sound too cocky in the intro 🤣. It was so hot and I was just talking out loud and not really thinking. Playing it back I was like ,"dang I sound like a jerk". Too late to change it now only been uploading since 9:30 am. My father just text and said 2 hrs left 😳
