  • I've seen some pretty bad fences in my time, but this one gets an award all of it's own.

one point @1:00, you don’t necessarily “need” to have a post right up next to the house with wood picket fence, you can easily cantilever the panel past the post about a foot with no problems. it helps when they have extra large footings that protrude past the house, or if you’re dodging a irrigation line that’s running right next to the house. Just set the post 7’ apart so they’ll have the extra over hang

Yeah, I've had to do that more than a few times when the foundation guys dumped excess cement in the footing trench or utilities/irrigation lines run along the wall.

I HATE stepping a fence. I've had customers ask for it, and I've talked all but one out of it. I've only ever installed one fence that was stepped.

Fellers, what’s the big deal??? I need to send y’all photos of the goat fence my neighbor built out of pallets. No two pallets were alike. The blue CHEP pallets and the red Kraft pallets are randomly mixed with unpainted skids.
But, my favorite feature… Different widths and lengths meant some were turned sideways to keep the tops about the same height. That meant the goats had a ladder they could climb whenever my goat was in heat!
Fellers, y’all ain’t seen a professionally designed and installed fence until you visit the Ozarks!

That sounds... creative! Seriously though, it was nice of him to make it easy for the goats to get across. 😜

What do you gents at SWI think about setting a concrete in ground pier, steel post anchors drilled into the concreted then 4x4 posts set into the anchors?

@@SWiFence WHAAAAT...??? You have a fencing school? Where's the "link's in the bio" ? Is it an online school or do I have to relocate? To be extra clear, I'd learn to build fences right? I don't want to "learn how to fight with a sword = fencing." 🤞🏆

We have a spring training camp. 😁 If you own a fence business you should come join us! If you're an installer and new to the fence world it's probably not a great match for you just yet.

A typical homeowner "I'll save a few dollars and do it myself. I'll just buy panels and take a few days (weeks)." kind of job. The hubby is proud of the solutions he devised, the wife freaks out about the ugly of it and neighbors are laughing at him
