It says that he went through 3 countries to get to South Korea. I think that means he escaped. The North didn't just let him moved. According to other documentaries, they usually escape through China.
I found these young men and they seem like they’re going to be AMAZING. HYUK has a song “Ordinary Person”. I’m supporting this SB Group. I recommend the WARNING BAND. Three Villareal Sisters and they are incredible musicians and vocalists. “MARTIRIO” is a Spanish one or “SICK” MV.
I watched a Documentary about North Korean Defectors.Their journey to escape NK is no joke, they don’t even know if they will make it.And as the result for escaping NK,their families left in NK are arrested and punished in prison camps by doing the hardest labor for life time 😔.Defectors and their family (older members especially parents)know about the consequence yet they are willing to risk their lives for freedom😢 I hope these gentlemen will succeed and maybe someday they will make a huge impact to North Korea .
But it's important to remember that escaping thru China is also dangerous cuz if caught they will be reported and sent back to NK. Cuz China and NK have a diplomatic relationship and China doesn't want any NK in their country. Plus, as u said they most likely escaped and was not freely allowed to leave NK. The only time that NK citizens are allowed to leave is if the government gives them permission to work internationally by doing migrant work like construction work or something similar to this line of work or working in NK restaurants that are not in NK. Most well known work is being a NK spies are almost everywhere. So, even tho they escaped they could be captured by NK spies and be sent back. Not only do the spies take defectors but, other countries citizens like when they kidnapped a famous sushi chef in Japan so that he could cook for the Kim family or the Korean movie director and actresses ex wife were kidnapped and forced to make movies for Kim Jong Il. Who was a huge movie buff. This hasn't been confirmed yet but, many believe an American citizen named, David Sneddon, at the time was a 24-year-old Brigham Young University student who had completed a two-year Mormon mission to South Korea, was wrapping up a semester studying Chinese in Beijing in the summer of 2004. He had learned Korean and was planning to take a Chinese language class in his senior year at BYU. When he went missing during a hike in China after being approached by Korean woman to be an English tutor for her children. At the time it was known that Kim Jong Il was looking for an English tutor by a native speaker to privately teach his children English and about American culture is the reason why he is missing as he was trapped/lured to NK. He hasn't been seen since. As of now at least 17 Japanese nationals were kidnapped, usually from remote spots on the west coast, and taken to Pyongyang, apparently to train spies in Japanese language and culture. But many believe it's more likes 100+, Japanese citizens have been kidnapped by spies. This also includes, Thai, Romanian and Lebanese women who have been abducted. For example, Romanian, Doina Bumbea, was taken in 1978 and not seen again until 2007, when she was spotted in a documentary about James Dresnok, an American soldier who defected to the North after the Korean War and now is married to her. Let's not forget that Kim Jong Un sent his spies to successfully unalive his own older brother, Kim Jong Nam in February 13, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia using two woman not from Malaysia to carry out this task and they thought they were filming a RUclips prank tho. As for Kim Jong Nam had been living abroad since his exile from North Korea in 2003 and has openly spoken out about his family and how they treat their citizens badly. Of course Kim Jong Un didn't like it when he found out his brother became an CIA informant as well and needed to get rid of him once and for all, along with his Uncle who was sentenced to death by using anti-aircraft missiles for rumors that he wanted to over throw the Kim Dynasty and regime. So, this means no one is safe from NK no matter where u live.
