    Landscape fabric/weed block also works for lining aquatic planters. I suddenly have a craving for a bowl of Trix :)

    Hi Jeff! Loved the update. The baby tut is looking really great! Clearance plants are the best when they end up doing well, and are pretty too. Your pond is looking really good! Love it when I see you've posted a new video! Please keep them coming! Thank you for sharing!

    I love your aquatic planters, and I giggled when you showed the colorful top rocks, I love color, so I would have used what I had lying around too. Fun video Jeff, I love all of your tropical vibes, it makes me happy to see it all. Have a great weekend and I will see you in your next video.

      Thank you holly! I was surprised how much grief I got from people over that gravel! Lol! I'm not going out and buying pea gravel that I'm only going to use 1/3 of and have that laying around when I already have a bucket of gravel to use that is laying around... and it's pretty! 🤣😂

      @@TropicalPlantParty Some people have no sense of humor, and you're right why go out and buy a bunch of something that you are only going to use a little of, if it's lying around, use it, waste not want not as I have said before.

      🌈🌈🌈🌈🤣😂🤣😂 haha! Think about this way jake, at least I'm getting rid of it by using it instead of it ending up in fish tank! Ha! I would never! I have so much of it because I used to keep my fish in 100 gallon rubbermaid troughs and needed bright gravel on the bottoms in order to see the fish.

    ❤️ papyrus - saw great, big, huge ones growing in planters down the middle of a boulevard in Calgary, Alberta last summer. So dry there - was wondering how they pulled it off? Now I know. 😉

      They love water but can be grown in the ground just as happily. Very versatile plants!

    Sorry I was totally cracking up with the fact that you lost some of your footage of the beginning of the video not because I think it's funny because it makes me feel good that my last video I was talking for about 20 minutes and unboxing things and realize that I didn't have the camera on at all well I mean it was showing me things but it wasn't recording. What I was doing is I was using the pause button as kind of the off button so somehow I was so excited about what I was doing that I reversed it and I was using the on button when my camera was facing the table I don't know it was just bad but yeah I feel your pain LOL. 8 to 10 days!? That King Tut Grew that much that quick. he is pretty gorgeous to I wouldn't mind having him in an Arrangement all by himself

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  5 лет назад +1

      Oh it happens all of the time! Usually from memory cards going bad though. Yup! Been there! So many occassions I've filmed and didn't realize the camera wasn't recording! When there's a cut in a video and I start a sentence chuckling that usually means I had just realized I was talking to myself.

    I had gotten some "Little Tut" Papyrus (no brand on the tag, though there is credit for the photographer...) at the beginning of the season and based on the images I had seen, expected more upright growth habit. It's definitely much more of a mounding growth and really fills out the corner its in.

      @@TropicalPlantParty so I'm in temperate southern California. I have found a few "houseplants" do well outside all year, ie. Shefleras, ficus, rubber plants etc. Anyhoo, I recently purchased a false Arelia and was thinking of leaving it on my patio (full shade) but we do go below 50 in the winter with maybe 1 or 2 nights below 30. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  5 лет назад +1

      I'm unsure. If the ficus, schef etc are ok then it might be fine, but it is a gamble. Could always move it in on those couple of cold nights or even through a blanket over it to protect it from frost.

    The gravel tho? EEEWWW! Get the pea gravel why don't-cha???

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  5 лет назад

      Like I said in the video, but I'll elaborate further... why would I go spend money on a bag of gravel that I'm only going to use 1/3rd of just to have the rest laying around unused when I already have a bucket of perfectly good gravel that is laying around unused? That's just wasteful and the plants will have the gravel hidden by their growth in no time so ultimately the color and appearance of the gravel is irrelevant.
