Fretboard patterns like that helps keep the listener interested in the music and or draws their attention back to the music as they get refocused and start listening again . Thanks for sharing .
Dweezil emphasizes string pairs and string shapes in almost all his lessons .. which include finger stretching exercises tonalities ear training etc .. each to get outside the 4 fret box .. but the Genius is The Approach Concept .. synchronizing your visualization, ear, fingers and picking with the freedoms while unlocking the entire fret board
I could never afford Dweezil Zappa to teach me guitar lessons, but I sorely wish I could. That's yet another jaw-dropping short lesson from him, I'm so impressed.
This s pure gold - I mean your tutorials - I recently as if I needed a reminder, but seldom do, heard Sheik back to back - the 'yo mama' lead is a perfect example why there is not a single player as non repetitive as FZ. Dweezil certainly carries that torch proudly and in some areas has surpassed his Dad. Kudos
Dweezil, I'm from Baltimore, you dad's home town (but you knew that). Loved him! Good lesson, but maybe a little too advanced for me. Just starting to learn all the pentatonic scales. You look great! Keep up the great work!
Irrelevant comment, but back in the 90's, I remember Dweezil starred in a sitcom with his sister, which I actually quite enjoyed. I was a little sadden that it ended so early.
I do visual patterns because I’m kinda tone deaf (I’m a drummer too) what poetic justice I’m accidentally ahead of the learning curve Long was Live The Zappa Legacy 🦠
Amazing, understand completely what you mean, but for the time being I'm still not done with the pentatonic. lol. Anyway, thnx Dweez. 👍🏼🎸Very interesting. Maybe some day I'm into something like this.

Such an amazing player, he has an awesome grasp of the fretboard..
I always learn something new when I watch a Dweezil video. 🤘🤘🤘

I love it
Very well explained and demonstrated. Unfortunately my peanut brain would need a month to internalize this lesson alone...
Interesting enough. Thanks.
yep good thanks mate
I recognize the opening riff. Taken from Randy Rhoads live solo on Suicide Solution, off the Tribute album?
Dweezil? More like Diesel 😍

Is it the symmetry that makes it "click"?
You are giving me ideas. Thank you very much.
