One of my favourite ToTo songs...From the first album & still sounds as fresh today as it was in 79
*78*
Agreed a great vibe superb percussion and really really shines on the debut album as a compliment following Girl Goodbye
There are some incredible one/two punches out there but those 2 songs back to back are just incredible mood/vocal/ and mind blowing changes !
check this out whoa!! ruclips.net/video/Dti6bKsrVHo/видео.html
One can hear all this shit if you listen closely but never knew all the details and now I'm getting frikin old...but man when I was in high school discovering the non pop side of this band it was like holy crap nobody I know will even understand what the hell I'm saying and liking about this band lol and yep that was so true
This is sooo great. Thank you for sharing it. Steve Porcaro sounds the same as he did 35 yrs ago. Awesome song!! This made my night.
Steve Porcaro Vocals and Keyboard--a brilliant and lasting combination.
I was at this concert...the atmosphere was just beautiful during this performance. As a whole it was a great concert, but Steve and Takin' it Back really stood out for me.
Yep!
This song has made me cry since the very first time I heard it in a coffee shop Paris. It took me years to track down the title and artist. Simply extraordinary.
great song! What a talent Steve is. The last of the amazing Porcaro brothers.
Rip Jeff and Mike Porcaro...
Definitely one of my top 3 favorite Toto songs. I've been a fan since the first album. I wish Steve wrote and sang more Toto songs, but I was happy he finally made a solo album.
It’s one of my favorites, too. And, I agree, that he should wrote and sang more Toto songs. Look at Human Nature for example. If you write a song for a big artist like Michael Jackson and it becomes a huge hit, then you know you’re a great songwriter. It’s a Feeling is another great Toto song written and sung by Steve.
i love too Human Nature, it's a feeling , lea and takin' it back
Steve is a genius 💙
@@lilyanatorres798 Bend and The Little Things are two other great ones that were written by Steve (along with Allee Willis on The Little Things).
I know he doesn’t like doing it but Steve P is a good singer. The guy is immensely talented. This song was always a great piece of music
Note-perfect. Sounds the same as he did in '78!
Such a brilliant song!
And to think that he once said that he never considered himself a very good singer.!! Whatever!!! Man, I love this song and you killed it!
Wonder why the never performed this live back in the day. Such a great tune
Maybe because Steve P wasn't a prolific song writer and neither was it a big hit but so glad they finally let him have the limelight.
One of their best songs ever
Takin It Back takes me back.
Love Steve’s songs!
He should have sang more songs for toto over the years...hard to believe a band with 4 capable lead singers!
Toto belongs in the RRHoF, NOW! They have more hits and played on more albums an anyone! The DUNE soundtrack, PYT, She's a Beauty, Talk to you Later, Artist and Song of the year '83.. the list goes on and on...the Porcaro brothers, Lukather, Hungate, Paich, Kimball, Williams
still got it
Priceless! This song is pure magic. Kudos to the guy who filmed this: he knew the song so well that he got in time on Luke right before the guitar solo (which, by the way, is better than the studio take)! ;-)
Agreed! Genius! But - Luke is ALWAYS great - live, or otherwise!!!❤🎸
My favorite Toto song, period. There are dozens of amazing songs from Toto, but this still remains my favorite.
My favorite song.
Utterly amazing!!! Brilliant!
Sounds great! Has kind of a funky sound from the studio recording.
My birthday !!! One of the amazing songs from TOTO !!! Thank you for such a briliant and talented people like them.
Steve P should sing on more songs!
listen to his new solo album "someday somehow"... its really good.
He hates it!
Yes he should!! Great job on vocals!!
@@cemegonuts Yeah. Love that album. An appearance from the late great Jeff Porcaro on Back To You.
I also love the way the guitar solo perfectly fits into this beautiful melancholic song.
Wowowowow I love this so much :D
I like Steve Porcaro's vibs. Legit!
Magnificent. Bravo! I could listen to this forever. Thank you!
Steve P is Mr. X-factor. just brilliant.
I've always loved that song. I saw these guys live in September 2014 in Rhode Island. Excellent concert with Michael MacDonald. Wasn't that Steve Porcaro singing this?
Yep
Yes!!
The 3rd times the charm…..YEP!!

The Greatest band on the face of God's green earth!!
I've seen an number of videos for this song recently. They were doing it in the sound checks for a while. This is the best Steve's voice has been in all the vids for the song I've seen thus far.
Wow a love this song ✨❤️
Great !!!!
So beautiful. 💫
Una maravillosa canción♡ me habria encantado escucharla en vivo , saludos desde Perú
Absolutely love his songs and voice!
😎
David Hungate with them? Cool! I saw them on the Hydra tour. Great show, but they didn't do this one! Thanks for the post!
great song!!! 2022!
Beautiful song. 👌🏼👌🏼
Bravo Steve porcaro
magic
You know a song is great when you can get away with the vocal line: "I'd live in a shack eatin' out of a can" ....
que buena canción....
No shit. I love that song. Clean white lines in the 80s
my guitarist for ever!!!! lukather!!!!!!!!
Ohhh 🤭 que lindoooo, primera vez que la escucho en vivo !
Suena bien , pero la prefiero en estudio!
O será la grabación que no quedó muy bien , bueno como sea , un gran grupo ❤️🤗
SOOOOOO amazing!❤
Gem !
The description in the list of musicians says ‘Vocals -Joseph Williams’ but this is nuthin’ but Stevie P himself singing his own song !!
It says Toto is: which means that he’s telling you the names of the band and what they play or if they sing.
Giuliano Cotellessa Pescara ( Italia)
Que bien canta estúpido y sensual Steve Porcaro 🥴💕
私にとり、スティーブの歌は特別!🍒🌸🌍️

Holy shit Shannon feels just like Jeff
Luke’s solo here is a religious experience as well
Toto my foot who's left Steve
fuckin epic
First 45 sec or so are not takin it back, but Bend from the Japanese version of XIV
+Tijn van Lier definitely not bend. It's a little solo he designed as an intro.
+Emmanuel Guzmán you are absolutely right. 😄
+Tijn van Lier BEND RULES...why this is not a song on the LP and plated everyday on the radio is a crime. Great ears Tijn!!!
Incredible performance. Shame that Steve P shies away from singing live these days.
He hated singing, he’s said it in many interviews. He also said that he isn’t much of a great singer, but, he’s a great singer.
Jeff reincarnated
Such a shit how Luke treated Steve
