The final stretch of the film where he kills the puppy, Curly’s wife, and then gets shot is just so sad. I really just want Lenny to end up with George in their own farm. It’s just so sad while George is preparing to shoot Lenny, all while they talk about how all they have is each other.
People saying this is the saddest movie in the world haven’t seen “sling blade” I promise that movie leaves a Pitt in your stomach like no other, its just sad all around. With “of mice and men” they at least have moments of joy whereas “sling blade” just starts to get in the grove of things for it to end where it started. Sad.
this movie always made me tremendously sad. Lennie was my favorite character due to his childlike innocence. it broke my heart for him and the little puppy when he accidentally kills the poor puppy because he isn't aware of his own strength :(💔

Useful though he may be it's his inability to control his strength that gets him in every bit of trouble he gets into. Sad thing is that he doesn't know what happened til it's too late. I knew kids like that when I was in the children's hospital. They were the ones I was the most kind to so as not to startle or frighten them. "Retard strength" (as it's called) can sometimes be more dangerous than the strongest bodybuilder.
