Such a good video. THANK YOU. easy to follow. always shocked at great RUclipsrs that are willing to share their knowledge with us. I saved $900 last night replacing my own radiator. How important is it to flush the new unit?!?! I just filled it up with new fluid and called it good.
A flush is the way to clean the deposits from the engine, some do with the old unit in some with the new. Some prefer to do with the old unit on to keep any deposits from clogging new rad. New ones seem to always have some aluminum flakes. Overall you'll probably survive, but it may add to reduced efficiency. Worst case if it clogs again you know how to do it and you're still hundreds of dollars ahead of the game, and whose to say the mechanic would have done it anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if some charge for a flush and just never do it to save time and get some extra money. Not saying everyone shop does this, but I'm sure some do skip out on it, but charge you for it-especially when no ones watching. We're human and typically most people take the lazy way out, not the right way out.

Depends on the level. There is a spot to check the level on the reservoir. If it's too full it has an overflow and just spills out to the ground which isn't the greatest for the environment, but won't end up hurting your vehicle, but there is a spot to check the level, but sometimes they get stained and it's hard to see the level, so shine a light through the top and look through the side if you can't see in very well. Good, no B.S., video.
I try and make all my vids. to the point, because I hate when I have to go look something up and wasting 1/2 my time listening to everyone tell their life story, when I just want to see how to do something, minus all the chit chat! Thanks for the comment, glad you feel the same way I do and appreciate the comment

I know last year I had an issue with the converter. I'm guessing you replaced the serpentine belt or have one that isn't slipping as well. Best of luck...
@@youcanfixit3721 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP
Perfect ....tx
Yeah this is one of my best ones! Thanks for the comment. Wish more people left comments. I appreciate it. Glad it worked for you....
where did you get the parts? I was thinking carparts.com but I'm wondering if it's worth paying 100 more for a part from autozone.
fractal_force guessing he got it from AutoZone. $100 more but lifetime warranty. I've used AutoZone lifetime warranty before and it very easy to walk in and get a new part no mailing and waiting. worth it to me for convenience.
nice
Hopefully it helped you. I go fast and if people pause after each part it should go pretty well.
Thanks for the post!
Yes, we got it completed. Got the radiator in autozone.
It's always nice when it's done. Thanks for the comment
This is like watching the blair witch project. Put the damn camera stationary overhead.
I can do it!!!!!
how can it build pressure when its leaking duh
Yeah so true, but someone not knowing any better may have some other fluid leak and think they needed to change out a radiator, when in fact they don't. Not everyone knows the ins and outs and safety is just proper technique. I'd just hate to have a do it yourself person giving something a shot and getting injured. If your already experienced in the process then you most likely didn't need the vid, but many are not. Thanks for the post though
You can Fix It!!!! true
If its a small hole it will build up pressure and steam out like a kettle; so if you open the rad it will boil out.
You're in way too much of a hurry to make this video.
I make them quick so people can watch it once through and then they need to play and pause to go through the steps. I made it how I like them. I think it sucks watching a video for 20 minutes just to realize its not right. I cut out all excess, you need to play-pause work, play-pause work, play pause work. I do with I used my tripod more instead of recording one handed and working with the other. Sorry if it didn't work for you. Hopefully you got it. Thanks for the comment though
@@youcanfixit3721 I like that the video was straight to the point with no useless talking about stuff that doesn't matter
@@bumblebman8350 I know my kids tell me that it's normal to talk and pause and I should make my videos longer. I hate videos that waste time. I can't stand people who sit and talk and I have to skip through the crap to see if they are even talking about what I need. I appreciate the positive comment and glad you agree with me in the matter of the less BS on a video the better. I'm no movie actor and don't think I am like 99% of the people making videos think they are. Thanks again and I appreciate the positive feedback!!!!
too fast
Sorry...But I do try and go faster. Sorry I hate long videos.... Nothing bugs me more than watching people talk and talk. I figure watch it quickly once through and then play and pause as you do it on your own. Otherwise you sit there forever watching long videos trying to figure if they work for you.
