Good job with real struggles, unlike many videos that have everything go perfectly, with special or pricey snapon tools that many of us driveway mechanics don't have.
Great video very helpful I'm a 60 yr. Old female and you've explained so well that I'm confident I won't have any problem doing this thank you so much , I look forward to seeing more of your videos
Really good instructions and helped me to do it. Yay! I ended up forgetting that black rubber strip that goes on top of the condenser. Always something.
Excellent video. Appreciate the warnings about things like the hooks being difficult. Often the steps that are taken for granted pose the greatest actual challenges when doing the work. When I did the job on my Caravan (which has 2 fans with screws on the top), the radiator was so difficult to remove from the condenser I took the bumper off, then saw the clips and hooks plain as day. Had to squeeze the clips together. Now I know how it's done for such a vehicle, and would probably be bale to get the radiator out without removing the bumper.
@@kerrymarris4260 i just did this job today before i saw this video and removed the front bumper cover as well and it didnt take alot of extra time in my opinion and for me it was worth it
doing this job now. 2 things I've done different so far... 1) took the grille out of the bumper cover. takes 15 seconds, pops out and gives a lot more space to play with. 2) broke the condenser support tabs off the radiator with a hammer and long punch/screwdriver. freed the condenser without having to wiggle things a lot and risk damaging the condenser. not like i'm re-using the bad radiator anyways. :)
Thank u for ur no nonsense video style. Seeing how u did this I think I may b able to do it. The AC hoses r the only thing that worry me. Couldn't see those clear in ur video. Again, thank u!
Lol lol lol I had to repair radiator in my 05 grand caravan. I wish your video would've popped up when i searched for vids on how to. I just watched your power steering cooler replacement video and was thoroughly impressed as am with this vid. Keep on doing vids like these and i might keep van lol
Thank you much . I'm planning on trying this myself since it's an old kind of worn down van anyhow . Hoping I can follow the video instructions . You did great in the video . Thank you much
Thanks buddy I watched ur video last time I changed my radiator in my van and it only took 2 hours I’m watching it again today because after 2 years it needs a new one again I hope to be my time if 2 hours lol after watching ur video a few times I should be able too lol
My hat is off to you Dan. I have a 2003 Chrysler T&C Limited AWD after having viewed a few other videos the folks were removing the front bumper and grill and supports underneath. It looked like a disaster especially after checking with the auto repair site 'Repair Pal'. I entered my vehicle info and selected service required and came back with an estimate for repairs of $1015 to $1096 which included the radiator. I found the radiator from Denso P/N 221-7002 which is one of the parts suppliers for Chrysler with shipping and tax for $138.43. I am going to use the method you have demonstrated and for the cost of a Sunday afterrnoon save myself a little over $900. Dan keep up the Good Work !!!
The bracket with the hood latch can be marked with a greese pen, or sharpie. Just to be sure that it's right. Definitely not the same as my 2002. Like the fans are separate on mine. And it's always a good time to clean up the front part of your engine, if you have any oil leaks or it's just dirty.
My radiator in Dodge Gr Car 3.8 L get cracked in right top plastic part. Stop Leak did not helped. What to do? After watching this video I placed an order for new Radiator. Can't believe it is only ~$100 from many sources. Choosed Walmart - free delivery/free return. Plastic bumper cover is already out as I was looking for leak. Let's go, and good luck retired DIY driver!!! Thanks for detailed video.
Great Video! Each step very clear, easy to follow. My 2006 Dodge Caravan leak coolant undernease the rediator, because has a piece of metal there, I can't see exactly there is leak. How can I find the leak is rediator or just hose? Chack from top or from bottom? Thanks.
It's easier to slight light the AC condesor over the hooks, instead of maneuvering the radiator around the hooks. Don't move radiator off of hooks, move AC condenser up from hooks, and towards grill.
Thank you for this video! I have a Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L 2007 with 180K km, and the coolant started to leak a bit, I have seen some small wet spots on on the asphalt the driver side in a summer sometimes under the radiator. I am just wondering if this a radiator? I purchased the coolant leak stop, but it did not help.I am just wondering if I should add another coolant leak stop fluid into the radiator or just replace one? Merry Christmas!
@@MechanicalMalarkey Question - what is the typical radiator lifespan nowadays? I replaced the radiator two years ago on my Dodge Caravan 2007 with 190K km (the original) Now, the new one I installed started to leak 212K km on the side where the plastic and metal parts join. Can it be that the lower manifold gases leak and create extra pressure for the coolant and that is why the radiator goes?
I am replacing my radiator in the same vehicle. I discovered that my van has a transmission cooler located between the condenser and radiator. It fell off the mounting bracket. Does not leak though. Don't know what to do with it.
I can see a lot of steam exiting the drivers side top of the radiator. I am adding one gallon every two weeks. Just hope that I don't have the beginning of a blown head gasket.
hey dan, i had some local guy replace my radiator in a 2007 dodge caravan and now my a/c does not work, first test drive immediately after he replaced it. how can we fix this? what do you think he forgot to do? solution? thanks in advance!! bummed, its super hot here and it's pretty serious
Possibly he damaged the condenser or lines going to it, or he had evacuated the system to fully remove those for easier access and forgot to recharge the system.
Your Instructions are Awesome an the lighting is perfect. You show me exactly how to replace my radiator tomorrow in my 2002 van
Really helps to see the locations of tabs shown on the part after it's been removed. Very thorough video.

Used your video today to replace the radiator in my wife's Grand Caravan. Thank you! It went exactly like you showed..
Really good instructions and helped me to do it. Yay! I ended up forgetting that black rubber strip that goes on top of the condenser. Always something.
The top radiator mounts can stay on the crossbar. You don't need to remove and replace them because you are lifting the bar straight up anyway.
Good point, didn't think of that.
Sept 24 2023 Excellent video. My radiator leaks. I'm going to order one and attempt to do the replacement. Thankyou!
Screw style clamps are a big mistake. They don't expand and contract with heat like the correct ones do.

I also took the whole front off the first time I changed the radiator 8 years ago. And I'm tempted to do it again. Because it just seems easier...

Just what I was looking for. Thank for the video
You can use dykes to cut the small section of the lower condenser hooks if you don't have a angle grinder.

It's nice to know it's not just me hating those clamps... The little ones are ok but the bigger ones, not so much.

If you don't see any wetness on the hoses themselves then it is probably the radiator.
@@MechanicalMalarkey , Thank you for your response.

Es curioso pero hay una cara de un hombre barbón en el escape debajo de los cables de las bujías, lo que hace el óxido 😁

I don't recommend using any leak stop products. It definitely could be the radiator, possibly also just a hose leaking.
Check coolant overflow for leaks as well as waterpump.

should have gone into more detail detaching the condenser from the radiator
What size socket are the hose clamps? 1/4-5/16?
Nicely explained
Is this the same for a 3.8 eng. as a 3.3 eng. on a 2004 dodge grand caravan ex?

I didn't see or notice you disconnecting the transmission coolant lines
Do i need a radiator with transmission and oil lines
Thank you

yeah lay piece of metal over the battery terminas
what type of power drill is that??? Can someone/anyone assist me?
Would it be better with the coolant cold
You would be less likely to burn yourself when draining the coolant or taking off the radiator cap if it was cool.
