In my childhood, several decades ago, we had a poorly-insulated house and only expensive electric heating, which we had to use sparingly. I remember my family scraping ice off the inside of the windows. Anyway, those winters were character-building, especially as I now do mountaineering - including sub-zero camps. I also appreciate our higher living standards nowadays. 😊
Cool! When I was a student, I rented a room in a big house owned by an elderly man. He was stingy with the heating, with the house cold in winter. I remember feeling so shivery that I could not sleep. Like Lisa here, I went downstairs and tried to turn on the boiler. The landlord was as annoyed as Lisa's dad. 😂
@@sandrinou1329 The landlord shouted, "What the hell were you doing touching my central heating controls. Never do that again." I then berated him for keeping the house cold. It was a Victorian house with big rooms and drafty single glazing. House sharing is character-building. Best wishes!
These weird stories are the most entertaining way for me to learn Italian. The glitches don't bother me. Anyway, we should be relying on the excellent Italian subtitles. That's what language experts say. Best wishes anyway.
