Its nice that you guys cover your loads. Here in Wisconsin truck doing down the highway tossing stones everywhere. Seems they only cover asphalt and items going into a dump as required by the dumps to be covered.
Great job, wouldnt it have been easier to use a Barber Green asphalt spreader to apply the stone? Quicker, uniform thickness, saving time, money, and fuel ???
+Jan van den Bos Well, quite often we folk who are interested in these videos think alike,..this time we are on the very same page,....what about that cylinder Chris,..how`d it turn out ?
Torsee I always have figured you eyeball a 6 inch gap between the ground and bottom of the blade and that should get you pretty close. Any operators out there to verify?
+Darragh Mcdonagh So it's not going to be paved? I figured it had something to do with preventing chemicals ie. gasoline, diesel or motor oil from seeping into the ground and causing contamination.
The ground underneath. Fabric is used over sub grade often, to keep it from moving and yielding. Also can use another materiel called "geo grid" which is a plastic grid mesh you put underneath a lift of materiel and it will tighten way up. also Often when we build access roads into questionable areas we just lay fabric and stone over the nasty stuff and trucks won't get stuck. I've also put plenty of fabric down when doing building pads
why you use not a grader for spreading stone? So you need only one machine. You should install a front blade on your grader, so you can do easily both Jobs.I have a grader with front blade and I can do it very good rough grading and then i make my fine grading. ok, my grader is a bit bigger, it weight 16 tons, yours seem to be smaller
Just a question, can't the trucks spread backwards over there or was that not needed? was thinking that might have been a time saver with only fine grading left to do. (not complaining at al only asking.) Cheers from Sweden^^
These 'Drone' views are really good. Thanks for this !
Man , that is a LOT of fabric and a LOT of stone !! LOL very nice blade work and great drone video , stay safe buddy
+Robert Kavich I know it is, I rolled every roll of fabric out!

Great video Chris, and I love the music it does it justice!!!!
Very nicely done Chris. Like the music in the beginning, very dramatic.
+MS Earthworks thanks!
Impressed with your drone footage 👍🏻 Only miss the engine sounds
You do mighty fine work!
Nice drone action. Keep these coming. Like it.

I'd like to see how you roll out that fabric.
one of ur bestest clips ever the music was great(what was the lot size i acre??)
whats the benefit of using the dozer over using the grader? seems like a grader might be faster or not for this application?
Richard Mannes steer tires would be on the fabric don’t want to risk messing it up
Ok, where’s the stakes with the grades on then??
what are they making?
+daniel reilly Go to the top of the page , read what it says under the published date and I'm sure you can figure it out L.O.L .
great work!!!! Thanks for sharing
hope it doesn't rain before compaction
Help me out.... What is the purpose of laying the fabric down? Nice video! Keep the videos rolling.
Big Daddy M it stops the Chinese from digging to our side.
Hey Chris is that the geofabric for soil soil stabilization or weed control???
+scott m stabilization
Dozer spreading stone, nice drone footage Chris, how is your cylinder from the excavator.....
+Jan van den Bos Well, quite often we folk who are interested in these videos think alike,..this time we are on the very same page,....what about that cylinder Chris,..how`d it turn out ?
what kind of drone do you have?
does the plastic cause any problems with rain? or does that base pack hard enough to make the water just run off?
+clay hunter its not plastic, its a layer of fabric that water can go through
+letsdig18 I gotcha. makes sense
Hey man how many hours did you have in spreading that?
What are you building here?
what done do u use
Excellent operator spreading this aggregate, you or an employee?
Thanks for a high quality video.
....13
It would be great if you could give just a little hint of cost in these cool drone videos just saying
How does the dozer operator know when it's putting down 6" of material?
Experience!
And a lot of seat time.
Torsee I always have figured you eyeball a 6 inch gap between the ground and bottom of the blade and that should get you pretty close. Any operators out there to verify?
Where do you get your music from Chris?
+betactical youtube music library
that dozer could run a D5 or 6 in circles
+Levi kent it wont push a 6 but it will make a 5 sweat!
Whats the blue material for?
so weeds won't grow up through the gravel
+Frank Balcer stabilization
+samvt What does 'stabilization' mean? What does it stabilize?
+Darragh Mcdonagh So it's not going to be paved? I figured it had something to do with preventing chemicals ie. gasoline, diesel or motor oil from seeping into the ground and causing contamination.

How many tons/ load total? Were you off much in your estimation?
+ajs2654 1800, only took 1700 but we spread another 100 tons over to give it a little extra thickness
I love the track marks in the gravel for some reason.
That appears to be a butt load of geo-textile fabric.
this is so satisfying!

The drone's a fantastic idea, but I'd rather hear the machinery.

+Njörðr Sigurðr it could be done but then you have to put a lot of faith in truck drivers and that can be dangerous
how thick are you going ? 6"?
+mike kent 6 inches
yikes that music.....😯🔫...i had to mute it ...id rather hear the drone
