The main reasons why I love this show is Dipper and Mabel.
They are honestly good siblings who got each other's back and sacrifices for the other.

Yeah, but not over the top that it reads just weird like sweet home alabama, they annoy and hurt eachother, they struggle understanding the others priorities, but when needed, they always got eachothers back , and thats what makes it so magical, they feel like gwnuine siblings with an awesome relationship!!!
There's a point I'm surprised you didn't focus on.
Gravity Falls serves a great role particularly as a (sort of) coming of age story. This is best exemplified by a line of dialogue between Candy, Mabel, and Dipper at the bus stop.
"Candy: Do you really have to go? There's still so much we haven't done together.
Mabel: Summer's over, Candy. It's time to grow up.
(Dipper than nudges Mabel's shoulder) Dipper: But not *too* much."
I LOVE this because I think it pretty much outlines the entire spirit of Gravity Falls. And this itself proves as the conclusion to the conflict started in "Dipper & Mabel vs. The Future", where it is firmly established for the audience that while Mabel doesn't want to grow up at all, Dipper wants to grow up very fast, taking on very complex oppurtunities early on, and he wants to grow up, he doesn't want to be treated as a kid. We see this at a few other points sprinkled in the series with Dipper too. Dipper lies about being 13 and gets mad at Mr.Northwest for calling him an "8 year old". So, despite being twins with a good bond, their directions are conflicting. So ultimately, it ends with a compromise. Mabel *will* grow up, and Dipper will also grow up, *but not too much*. It's also generally a good peice of life advice to grow up at a moderate pace.
100% agree. Had so much to say but so little time…even though the video is over 40mins 😂
Also, there's kind of a double element to that coming of age in that Mable doesn't want to grow up (Symbolized by her wish that summer never ends, and hinted at in numerous other places) and dipper wants to grow up too fast (Symbolized in the summerween episode by his desire to stop trick or treating, and in 'dipper and mable vs the future' by his serious consideration of Ford's internship.)

Great video! I highly recommend Owl House it has a lot of the same creatives behind it as Gravity Falls and is just phenomenal. I also recommend Amphibia. Oh! And fun theory is that Eda from the Owl House is Grunkle Stan’s ex-wife Marilyn!
Funnily enough, when I was typing this script at the library, I noticed the girl next time me looking over at my screen. She said she couldn’t help noticing and we talked Gravity Falls for a bit and she actually recommended Owl House haha small world

Mostly just Mabel and Ford. It's a whole thing, and it frustrates me and a handful of others greatly.

I have my problems with ford, but not the the point to justify the word hate... They are all flawed complicated people who make errors, misjudge things, can be petty, have insecurities but also have their own sets of wonderful traits

@@zeitgeistOG Yes, VERY much so. As well as it's pilot, Tome Of The Unknown. It's literally inspired new art movements with the things it itself is based on.
It's SIMILAR to this, but it's not really comparable, and while it certainly HAS comedy, it goes a lot heavier on the actual darkness.
I'll give you one spoiler-- the majority of the show takes place in the afterlife. And it's not like some "ghost realm" full of whacky characters the way Gravity Falls might do-- this is THE AFTERLIFE, and the whole thing is this lost and forgotten fairy tale about the things that happen in the show.
It's inspirations are old time post cards, folk songs/folk tales, very early American/European history, old story books, it even has kind of an opera vibe to it, and the cast is pretty well packed-- even Christopher Lloyd has a very prominent roll.
It was a (I THINK) ten night miniseries on Cartoon Network, on disk all the episodes are roughly a movie and change long, and even a whole lot more so than gravity falls, you've gotta pay VERY close attention. These aren't just Easter eggs, parts of THE WHOLE STORY are often hidden in the margins and not explicitly talked about.
The sound track on an actual wax record was a limited release and it goes for BANK.
Just trust me, this is FAR more than worth your time.

13:04 I'm sorry but whats wrong with trans people feeling represented by a funny character? I'm glad gravity falls at least made an effort do portray gender diversity. Even Dipper was apparently supposed to be trans and he really captures the (trans) masculine experience of awkwardness in puberty/transitional stage which, as a trans guy, made me love the show even more.
