I emerge from under my tarp on top of a big hill just south of Vega de Pas on the CA633 (See map on vid 1). Today is about getting to the Embalse (Reservoir) and getting to the next big hill!

Thanks for clicking! This is only day 2 and what an adventure so far..... today I follow a tractor, ride over a damn and admire some stunning scenery and of course it rains just to make me feel at home!
awesome content, cheers from Brasil
Many thanks, there's lots more to come!! See the 'videos' section of my homepage. Enjoy ;-)
Great video brother Mark. Beautiful scenery & those hills.... good grief 😮 xxx
I went this road from Aguilar de Campoo to Reinosa and around the lake some 10 days ago, nice memories. The sign of Camino de Santiago is not the Via del Plata, but Camino Olvidado 😊
Gracias! Yes it's all a bit confusing what rout I was on, I'm glad I had my GPS. But there were occasional dead spots which made it tricky at times!
Lovely cycling though and those embalses are spectacular to cycle around!
Bien viaje mi amigo ;-)
Nice trip, inspiring me to do the same next year. "Rotas" would be "broken", from the verb "romper". "Rozas" has two meanings - one is the verb "rozar" meaning something like touch/brush against/graze. The other meaning (and the one relevant to place names in Spain) is land that has been cleared/cleaned up to get it ready to sow. Bienvenido a España y buen viaje!
@@roubaix3843 thanks so much! A big reason for me choosing Spain for this trip was to practice my Spanish, I'm glad I sort of got it right 😎 I'm still really bad on the verb tenses etc but people there are so nice and patient that it makes it easy to try and not worry about making mistakes.
Buen camino mi amigo, saludos 🤟🏼🏕️🚴🏼♂️
you were so close to Aguilar de Campoo, lots of romanesque churches there. Well, romanesque churches are all over the place in Palencia, Burgos. Valladolid, Zamora, Galicia, etc, those are very ancient churches. Also gorgeous
Yes it's all so beautiful all along the route. It was a whistle stop tour for me, if it was on my path then i'd stop and have a look around but I didn't deviate too much.... there where some very interesting ruins enroute, I'm glad I got a lot of it on video as i've forgotten most of it already!! Part 4 is up tomorrow, one of my favourite days!!
Another great video , I hit some serious steep hills when I left Bilbao last year. I recall one being 23 percent gradient but worth the views. Took over an hour to push my bike in 32c heat.
@@ExploringHabit yep, they know how to do hills over there! Sharp and steep!
Wait till i edit the last few days in the Andalusian region, the hills weren't the only thing in my way to the finish line!!!
Thanks for watching 🤟🏼🚴🏼♂️🏕️
@@RoadyPacking-CyclingAdventures I'll look forward to it 👌
Could you do a kit list some time ?
Funnily enough I was thinking if anyone would ask me that! Yes I'm planning on doing a kit list video for the gear I used on this trip soon. In the meantime check out day 4 or maybe 5 (can't quite remember now) I setup in daylight so you will see most of the gear I use.
Thanks for watching. I hope you're enjoying the content :-)
Bauxite?
@@glennpettersson9002 qué?
@@RoadyPacking-CyclingAdventures the rock on the side of the road may be bauxite, the ore that aluminium is refined from. It's very common and has an orange/red appearance.
I'm enjoying your trip by the way, thanks for sharing 👍
@@glennpettersson9002 ah, thanks. I was wondering what gave it that colour..... The landscapes throughout Spain are so diverse.
Thanks for watching, part 3 and 4 are live as well, Eurovelo 1 going into Extremadura region 🚴🏼♂️🤟🏼🏕️
Iron in soil appears red. Sulphur would smell nauseous and yellow/orange.
Every day is a school day, many thanks
