Welcome and thanks for joining me today as I give two pieces of white furniture a faux wood finish makeover. It was time to add a bit of warmth and texture around here, and I'm hoping this new look does the trick! I hope you enjoy the video and will consider subscribing to my channel.
(And thanks to Shannon at Black Sheep House for the inspiration!)

Love the new look for the tables! Not too dark - perfect!
I really appreciate that. Thank you!
Hi Becca! Both pieces turned out amazing! Love the way they contrast against the beautiful white backdrops you have. Great job and can't wait to see how you style them! ❤
Hi Kelly! I'm so glad you think so. Thank you! Makes me want to start decorating them for Fall, lol!
Wow they turned out awesome. I love the contrast of a wood look against/with the white
Amanda, I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you!
First I have to say I can not believe what a neat painter you are. As much as I have painted I have more on me than the wall or tables. It turned out amazing I knew what ever you do it always looks amazing. It looks like it just came of the showroom floor. I sure miss my Susanna . I love how she talked back.my Susanna did that. Ihad her for over 20 years I got her as a small kitten. She had to be put down a year ago April.havea very blessed week end.
Jeanie, please don't let my video editing fool you since I didn't share the part where the glaze splattered not the wall, lol! and thank you so much!! I remember you sharing with me your loss of your sweet Susanna. I'm so sorry. We never truly recover emotionally from the loss of our furry family members, do we? I know you're grateful for so many wonderful memories with her. ❤
@@AdventuresinDecorating thank you sweetie.
Love the warm tones, moving the space naturally into fall. ❤ OMG, when your cat first appeared & you said, "Oh, hi!" I swear the cat said, "Hel-low!"
LOL, it sounded like it, didn't it? We have our little conversations. 😉 And thank you so much!! Have a great weekend.
I love it!!!!
I love the new look. Contrast great with the white walls. I think you do a great job decorating and changing up your style.
Tammy, I'm so glad you think so. Thank you so much!
I definitely love the wood look finish. It adds warmth and contrast. Your home is beautiful! And I will try this look as well. Thank you for sharing.
Christin, I really hope you go for it! Let me know if you do🙂
I personally like the wood look better, the contrast is very sleek! I would 100% like to try this!!!
I'm so glad you think so. Thank you!! I really hope you do try it ... let me know if you go for it!
Both tables turned out so beautiful! Also loved your kitty saying hi back to you😄
LOL, wasn't that the cutest?! (And thank you!)
I love the natural colors/real wood that is (finally) in vogue now. I’m little by little sourcing vintage and even antique pieces from yard sales. The real wood colors are so warm, inviting and bring an emotional lift that white cannot achieve. LOVE it. Keep going!! Your home is lovely as-is, but, I bet you’re going to enjoy those pops of browns!! ❤️
Robin, I love the you're so good about going to yard sales to add to your fabulous collection (I need to do the same). Isn't it fun what a little paint and glaze can do? And, you're right ... I really am already enjoying the warmth, contrast and character. Have a great weekend!
I love the new look it pops against all that white, but I love the white as well!
Janie, thank you! It's a fun change, even if only for the holiday season.
It looks great! I love the warmth it's added to your spaces.
I'm really glad you think so. Thank you!
I much prefer the new color......just beautiful!
Jan, I'm so glad. Thank you!!
I want to first say that, although I’m a dark antique lover, I have always been very impressed with your style. Not something that would go in my home, but very beautiful in yours. I do believe that you got the “warming” effect that you were going for, and as with everything you do, it has turned out beautifully.
Love the warmth they bring.
It didn’t look that difficult, so I would think about trying it. But you make everything look easy as you’re so talented.
Love your videos…and your cats!
Thank you so much! I really hope that you try it, too ... will look gorgeous! Happy weekend
Beautiful, I love the color and the technique! Thanks for sharing ❤Barb
Barb, thanks so much! I appreciate that. Happy weekend.
I love the wood finish. It’s a really nice contrast. You still have plenty of white so you shouldn’t have withdrawal. Gayle
I absolutely love white furniture, bedding, walls but I truly believe every room needs warmth added. I think both of your tables look amazing and add so much style and class to your rooms. Your rooms were pretty before but the brown splashes of furniture make them stunning. I could see me adding a little brass wall and room decor too. GORGEOUS!!!
I'm so glad you like the new look! Thank you so much! Hope you had a fabulous week!
Hello Becca!!! I love the wood look!!! The white was pretty too!!! I love anything wood!!! You did a awesome job!! Ivy was a curious kitty. Until your next one take care and God bless 😊❤
Hi Debi! I'm really glad you like the new look ... fun change for the holiday season. Ivy was mighty curious, indeed! Hope you're having a great weekend.
I love the warmth this has added to your spaces.
I'm so glad, Tessa. Thank you!
Loving the warmer tones to break up the white. Both pieces look beautiful.
Anna, thank you! I, too, love how it breaks up the white a bit.
I love the change.. breaks up all that white & warms it up some!
Angie, thank you so much!
I love the new look. I’m getting ready to paint my family room Sage Green. I’m over all white!
The pieces are pretty, but I'm a white lover. I add my color with decor through the seasons.
I love that you do that!!
I love how the pieces turned out. They do contrast well against the white. I can’t believe that I just said that!
LOL, I totally get that, Carole! Sometimes, it's fun to get out of our comfort zone, right? Have a great day!
I love the change as it ties in with the new shades.
I'm so glad you do! Thank you!
Those pieces look great! Love the contrast they create. Really does warm up the space.
Robin, I'm glad you think that they do ... isn't it crazy what a little bit of glaze and paint can do?
Hi Becca,
I luv the way the tables turned out, they're really stunning, WOWEEE!!! Can't wait to see them decorated. Ya'll have a fabulous weekend. Luv and blessings ❤❤❤
Hi Lisa! That really means a lot ... thank you!! I'm ready to scatter pumpkins and leaves on them, lol. Have a wonderful weekend.
You have the cutest helper! I really like the new look.
LOL, isn't she though?! I'm thankful she didn't jump up on the wet paint! Have a great day
Looks great but not surprised you do amazing stuff. I do like the warmer color.
Does your cat always answer you? How adorable. The color change is lovely...not too dark but warmed up the spaces. I admire you for trying something new. Thanks for sharing
Eleanor, I love my little conversations with our cats, lol. And thank you so much!
The tables look really good! The color is really nice and you did a very wonderful job on the tables. You would have had some wet paws Ivy! I can't imagine having to clean her off Becca. I'm glad she didn't pounce at the paint brush movement. She's so pretty! I hope you have a wonderful week end!♥
Kathleen, I'm so glad you think so. Thank you! And, lol, Ivy was so ready to pounce, which is why we scooted the table out to the garage so she didn't get sticky glaze paws. 🙃
@@AdventuresinDecorating I can just see trying to get that stuff off her paws. That would have been awful! Cats are so silly sometimes and want to get on everything....they want to see what you're doing. They are truly curious creatures!🐈
Hi Becca! I really like the contrast of the tables which came out so nicely. You provided hours of entertainment to your furry supervisor, LOL!! My cat answers me back also. Have a nice week ahead! 💖💖
LOL, conversations with our furry family members are the best, aren't they? (And thank you ... glad you like the new look!)
My decorating colors are yours. White, green plants and RAW PINE. I am trying to achieve it and you just showed me how. Thank you
Love the warmth it brings into the room!
I appreciate that. Thank you!
I prefer the wood tone. I like the contrast.
Hi Becca. The furniture technique is a winner and gives your spaces a whole new look. I see more painting in your future. Hahaha. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I enjoy colored walls and stained wood furniture. As I was buying furniture some years ago I really wanted accent pieces in off white but they didn't exist. I actually went with black instead. I have no regrets. Even though there were times when I thought about painting the black I decided against it knowing that at some point color, wood, and yes even black would be back in fashion. That day has come. I believe the trending term is called "moody". My point is you do what makes you happy and don't worry about trends.
Hi Melissa! Thank you ... I think you're right in that I see more painting in my future, lol! I love that you went with black (timeless and elegant) and that you stayed true to yourself and went with a look that you knew would be perfect! Hope you have a great weekend❤
Hi Becca, Wow, what an awesome job you did & I love it! Yes, it does add warmth to the space & the tables are beautiful. I'm thinking about using this technique on a table that I have, hopefully I won't mess up (lol) tfs friend & you have a great weekend & God Bless😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good morning Becca! I love the warm contrast! I do love white decor and the clean feeling I brings to a room, but I am also going with warmer tones for fall. Would definitely try this. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Janina! Thank you so much. Isn't it fun how we can transform the look of furniture with the swipe of a brush? Have a wonderful weekend
Sweet Ivy saying hi at the beginning and supervising your work, adorable.
While I do love the white, the wood look will be great for fall and winter. If after a while you don't like it I'm sure you'll change it. We all know your not afraid to change things up.
I look forward to all your videos.
Have an amazing weekend Becca.❤
Phyllis, "supervisory" Ivy was starting to inspect my work a little too closely, lol! And thank you(!) ... the darker pieces will, hopefully, be a fun change for the holiday season.
Yes 🙌 Yes 🙌 Yes 🙌
Love the finish!
Love the warmth!
5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The before is beautiful, however, the contrast with your white pieces of furniture is gorgeous, it pops! 👍 TFS, and Happy Weekend! ~ xoxo ❤
Thanks, sweet friend!! I really appreciate that. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo
I love the new look, warm and fresh
Lisa, I'm so glad you think so. Thank you!
Love the new color . You did amazing job. Have a wonderful Sunday sweetie .❤❤❤
Blanca, I'm glad you like the change! Thank you
Hi there- I love both of these makeovers..they look beautiful. I always admire you for taking what you have and changing the look.. I love trying new paint techniques and I think this one is next on my list. I appreciate your inspiration! Take care-
Mary, I really appreciate that. Thank you! I really hope that you try it ... you'll do a fantastic job and will love the results! Have a great weekend.
They turned out great! I think it’ll be a fun new look for you. Thanks for sharing!
Christine, I'm so glad you think so. Thank you
I love the warmer tones, better than the white for me. I have actually did couple outdoor pieces this way. Both turned out so pretty. I have 2 buffets I would like to do this technique, too. But I would have to move to the garage, cause my hubby would never agree to painting in house. Lol
But both of your pieces are beautiful. I just prefer the wood tones, and strange thing with me, I dont like dark wood tones. I am just a weird person. Lol I enjoyed the video and TFS. Makes me want to do mine real soon. ❤😊
Looks nice, You did a good job but I like the white
Love the new look.
Good morning, the tables are beautiful i really like the wood look. You did a awesome job. You gave me a good idea ! 😀❤❤
I love both colors. Take care.❤
Becca I love how it turned out! I especially love the contrast as it adds warmth. I just did basically the same thing to our light grey coffee table using a dark Kona stain. It’s always scary to do projects like that but so rewarding when it works! ❤ I can’t wait to see how you decorate each piece!
Hi Kim! Thank you so much. I'm really glad you like them. I love dark Kona stain... aren't you so pleased with your results?
Yes, I would definitely try this.
I love it! I did that same method to my bedroom furniture. It’s fantastic.
Thanks! I love that you did that ... did you do all of your bedroom pieces?
Love the new look! I always thought there was too much white decor/ although it was pretty/ I like this extra warmth if gives! Good job!!!!
Thank you so much!
Looks great. Love the contrast and looks easy to do. May give it a try.
Becca you are so brave painting without a tablecloth underneath. I would have paint all over the floor. You did a nice job and thank you for the painting lesson. It's just me but I prefer the white, but the glaze looks nice too. Have a great weekend.
Ohhhh trust me, there were a few drops here and there (glad Ivy didn't step in them), lol. And thank you so much! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Loving the wood tones
I'm so glad. Thank you!!
Love the stain furniture ❤. Looks better 🎉
I'm so glad you think so. Thank you!
Love the contrast
Love what you done, the change of color. Good!
Rebecca, I really appreciate that. Thank you!
It 😊 turned out great. I love her channel and am glad someone tried her technique cuz it turned out great . It give me courage to try it so thank you
Liz, I hope you go for it!
My friend, as always you out did yourself. Love love how both pieces turned out. Thank you for the idea. I'm thinking of doing it on my dinning room table ( just the top) it's a two tone table. The bottom part is a cream color. But the top is wood color except it has too much orange. Except I'm going to look into a lighter glaze. May you 🙏 have a blessed weekend ❤
Wood is my favorite
Your cat said Hi back 😂😂😂😂😂
LOL, wasn't that the cutest?!
Both pieces look beautiful! ❤Ana
Thank you very much!

Thanks so much!
Good morning. I think you did a great job, I really like the color. Looks great in the two areas.
Hi Brenda, thank you so much!! Have a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful as always ❤
Hi Becca! I always love your makeover videos. I especially love your fearlessness in taking on big projects. When you said Pottery Barn I thought wow! I don’t know if I could paint an expensive purchase but here you are doing g it twice. I’m watching on my phone when I prefer tv ,an age thing) so I can’t see we’ll enough to take in the contrast of the coffee table but I could totally tell the console. Looks like a professional job😊. As you decorate everything is going to have a fresh new look! I think it’s fabulous❤
Debbie, your thoughtful notes mean so much. Thank you! I can't believe how easy this project was and what a difference it has made. I'm about to paint a couple more, lol! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful weekend.❤️
@@AdventuresinDecorating driving back this weekend from seaside Florida. Staying at the Peabody tonight in Memphis, hoping to get there in time to see the ducks March to bed 😊 enjoy your weekend Becca🥰

A million thanks Sarah!
Love the wood finish, my furniture is black on top and cream legs, I should try this one day. I guess I would need to paint it white then the brown and last step glaze?
Like the new look ❤
Thank you so much!
I love it Becca💜
Michele, thanks so much!
Love this! Great job!💕
Thank you so much!
Beautiful!
Thank you very much!
Great job! but I am a white lover, that.s why I watch your channel. Will always choose white. But if you like,it that’s all that matters.😊
Heidi, thank you!! I'll always love our white slipcovers and cabinets, but it's kinda fun to be able to warm a few pieces up a bit, if only for the holiday season. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
