I am sitting at my laptop debugging code while I listen to the sounds of your brushstrokes, shoes sliding on the floor, deep breaths etc.Often I glance up to see the progress of the painting. It is very calming and peaceful.
I’m really enjoying your videos and reading people comments, especially those in written in the Dutch language helping me to re- learn my own language, which l have forgotten most of. When my family and l immigrated from Holland to Australia in the 50’s it was the government’s policy of the time to “assimilate” so therefore we as kids of foreign countries lost our language. Love your work and spending time in your studio with you even if it’s only virtual reality ❤

It is such a pleasure to simply watch you paint! I know you have said in the past that you paint in your studio four days a week, all day, generally. I am curious to know how long you can work on a painting without stopping. I don’t seem to be able to concentrate on a painting for more than two hours at a time.
Hi Michelle, that moment of concentration was quite short in the beginning, but I am training myself to stretch it out more and more over a longer moment. I think two hours is a lot. I will stare out the window for 5 minutes then and continue for the next moment.
My favorite video by you. I loved being able to guess what section you were going to do next, how you would handle the shadows, etc. Question: Do you start each painting with a clean palette?
Thank you. I used to clean my palette first. But nowadays I start without cleaning, except for clean fresh colors I first make sure that I can use a clean part of the palette. My brushes of course are always well cleaned
I enjoy your philosophy, and words about art, people, and surroundings. I often wonder if you’ve been featured in any art or watercolor magazines. I know the Nederland way is “humble or understated”. Dankje wel for the mooi content meneer of jongen - not to be too casual
Hello my dear friend hope you are well and having a great evening I will love to purchase your book but I’m unable to find how, can you guide to it. Thanks so much for your help and we love your work. From Kentucky USA Felix and Robin

I do love how you use values to give your cityscapes an atmosphere that isn't in the reference photos.
Thank you, as always, for sharing your work.

Sory I didn't get past the pointless Tea making!
