- I fell in love with this song after my pastor told me a story of a man he met in Asia who was sent to prison many times for bringing Bibles into the country. He wasn't trusted to be with other inmates because he would convert them and was put in solitary confinement many times. He was yelled at when he worshipped and was beat up when he defied the guards. The only time he got out of his cell was in the middle of the night when he went into the fields to tend to the sewage waste pipes. It was away from the prison cells and away from the guards because the stench was too foul to discribe.It was the only time he could sing and worship Jesus - away from the guards, away from the rules. This was his song of choice and he told my pastor that each night he sang this song and his surroundings smelled like a garden of roses every night.
You can imagine how one might react after hearing something so beautiful. I was so close to tears I had to think of something funny to keep them in. Anyway I thought I'd share my heart behind this video.

My momma just died in my arms at 2:38PM porter texas she was on hospice.She was sick and suffered for months,the greedy in me did not want her to leave.But luckily common sense kicked in and I knew her suffering needed to stop.So our lord showed mercy on her today.My heart is broken but my momma who was bed ridden,walks in heaven with Jesus now.Your favorite song momma you are in the garden now.No more suffering I love you so much momma,god willing I will see you again.(Rest my beautiful momma your son Mark)😇😥😢😭I hear you singing momma.

My mom passed away on December 17 2013 at around 4 am.. We had her memorial on December 22nd 2013 and this song was played over and over in my house for months.. I cant listen to it too often but today.. Seemed fit.
My grandmother used to sing this song to me every night. I still remember every word and I hear her voice in mine. I'm so blessed to have her in my life, and this song will forever remind me of her.

My Grandma used to sing this song to me as a young girl when I would spend the night at her house. She passed away in May 2005, and every once in awhile, I sing this song and remember my grandmother, my Superhero! The day she passed away, I walked out of the care home and there was an A.J. song on the radio when I started my car to go home that fit that day perfectly. It was " Monday morning Church". She really did leave my heart as empty as a Monday morning Church. 😢😢

My mother, who knew only a few songs and never sang, sung this one a few times for me. It was her favorite hymn. In church one day, this was the first hymn. She'd died only a few years earlier and I couldn't sing it, just cry. Mom's early life was troubled because her mother had died when Mom was only three days old and her father abandoned her and her brother. This song was her refuge, it seems. She wasn't religious in any formal sense of the word but her faith sustained and comforted her. She joined Dad and met her mother for the first time at Christmas in 2001. Now my little is walking with them, too.
