The 3D shaders are quite advanced. You can see the shadows getting darker and lighter in the right angles. The studio must be very high end and the modellers worked insane hours.

This stream made my heart hurt in the best way. She's more talented than she gives herself credit for. Ui-chan the cute vtuber and singer, Ui-sensei the LN and manga character designer, Ui-mama who brought the Sun of Hololive to life.
She's also a natural streamer. Her interactions with her chats is just so good

Not calling out Hololive or anything, but does Ui Mama's 3D kinda look many times better?
The model itself with its shading looks great, but there’s some spots where her face just look completely off. Sort of like those cosplayers that where those anime style masks.
I can’t be sure if it’s because she’s so pale that it stands out more or just that the body tracking is so good that the 2D face just gives an uncanny valley vibe where my brain can’t comprehend the two being the same image.
@@CrumbMuffins i agree, think might be the shaders. like the shadow is too strong, emphasing the 3D-ness too much such that it really contrasts the face. they probs shouldve just use a flat/toon shader
@@Interpause yeah that's it, the body is too 3d, too realistic. I mean it can be a good thing, but it looks weird where everything is realistic but the face is basically a 2d with a head shape. It looks like a person wearing an anime mask or something. And I think the shadow on her neck is a bit too much, it's too dark and makes the face even more disconnected from the body.
Maybe it has to do with head or face to body proportions, it isnt as strong here but with other vtubers the uncanny valley appears when you realize how much of a bobble head their avatars are
