I remember watching this when I was very young at my grandma's house. I can't believe I found it all these years later. So many memories! Believe it or not, I actually found this because of a song from The Jungle Book.
I saw this when I was very little. And I couldn't for the life of me remember what movie this was. This the Pocahontas I loved. I like the Disney version, but this one was more suited to my liking. This song brings such memories.

Oh my GOD! I was watching Disney's Pocahontas, when I had this memory of me watching another version as a child.. I googled my ass off and found this! I barely remember what happens. Only that I found it weird that John Smith was an adult and she a child, since the Disney version is basically a love story. And the bad guy was such a creeper in this one! THANK you! This brings back memories!
love this movie grownign up allways seem like it was a movie like 4-5 hours when u get into the story cant bellieve only 45 mins lol used to watch this every day just watch it now brought back meromys
I don't dislike the Disney version but it is a real shame they couldn't have kept it more historical. There does seem to have been a real friendship between Pocahontas and John Smith, they could have easily focused on that, doing something new and original.
@ZodiacSpica Because this movie is based on real life, not an out-of-place romance story in Disney's style. There was a significant age gap between Pocahontas and John Smith (who was anything but handsome), and their connection was not one of romance.
@TaranWanderer2 if you ask me both of them are only invented stories with a few facts that might have been based on the true, but the real point was that Indians were hunted and extinguished like beasts not too long after america became the colony of england or france.. Nevertheless it is nice to see other side of the story always, and see that not the entire nation is to blame for this just some individuals.
In Community,,leadership and cultural "structure" there are absolutely no princesses in any form in the society of north American native peoples. honestly this was released in 1994 ???? this example will lead to false perspectives being formed by children upon aspects of the true structure of north American native peoples and there cultural history.
