Keeping track of your coworkers bathroom breaks is a form of harassment. My mom’s old supervisor used to sit outside the women’s restroom with a stopwatch and timed everyone. My mom got him fired for it. Surprisingly he go rehired after I started there, now I have to deal with him. I told my coworkers that if he does it again I’ll make getting him fired a family tradition.
I'm a league bowler, and had JUST purchased a new Rhino at my pro shop. FIRST frame it came back with a gouge in it. I immediately showed it to the desk and they moved me to a new lane and shut down the lane. Pro shop was able to repair it in time for next league meet. Don't know what they had to fix on the lane, but mine was the only ball that got gouged that day.

My parents were on a league when I was a little girl eons ago so I don't know if it ever happened to them. Plus I wonder if they could repair them back then. I think I have to look up how it's done. After you got yours back, can you tell where it was repaired? It must've really sucked to have that happen right after you got it. It's like the feeling of driving a new car off the lot and when you park at store a mile away and someone's shopping cart puts a small dent in it and scratches it. My Mom and Dad were good and had trophies. I realize now that I don't remember them ever giving pointers on bowling like they did. Yea. For huge companies 60K is nothing. But for a small company like this. Why would you pay 60K for that software that does not even work? XD Just hire 2 people to do booking and booking only. My company would save a lot by having this software. But the one in the story. Does not sound like it XD
Though if they’ve got multiple events happening everyday at the same time having the software would make it so much easier. My real question is if this is the newest version of software they were using before and the previous version was working, why not role back and use the functional one while the kinks are being worked out?
Also when you have 30 people using a software for rental equipment, that is not a small business and it is making millions threw the year for sure. Back to the story: Software is tricky. So when the software of the current version works just fine at the development company, there has to be a bug in the upgrade from a lower version to the current version and finding that is nearly impossible without testing it on the equipment and database used by the customer.

My mom is IT support and has been really mad at her company, because she has a programming degree and decades of experience, but they outsourced their new software instead of letting her do it. She's extremely qualified, she already works for them, and she knows *exactly* what they need because she freaking works there! She asked to write the software for less and could promise it would be customized to their needs. Now they have expensive software that bugs out all the time.
I think the OP who wrote the Mindy story wrote another one where they had to evaluate all employees. The while team was honest, in a constructive way, about Mindy. The boss was not happy and made them re do it with "just the facts". So...that's what they did. "Mindy is 5'10" tall." "Mindy starts work at 7 am and leaves at 3 pm." "Mindy has dark hair and green eyes". Boss was not happy 😂🤣

The “cement dent” story had me in tears!!! I’m playing that for my husband! His crews are a piece of work, we spend the weekend repairing cords they’ve cut and washing tools they’ve gotten so messy that we swear they drag them through mud before loading them in the work vans. I went to all the job sites just this Monday and put the fear of me in them. I’m sick of repairing wires every weekend. Knuckleheads! No more cookies for you! 😂
@@Shoyro We don’t trust them one bit to fix anything correctly. It is legal to dock their pay repairing property they damaged if they can’t pay up front. That’s been a policy for two months now. My husband pays me now 😂 I’m on the payroll as “Tool Maintenance Coordinator”. I told him to start calling me when a tool is damaged so I can go out to the site and repair it there so weekends are freed up a bit. On Fridays I go to all the sites and make them stay late, no pay, to clean the tools as well. That started about 3 weeks ago. Wait until the plunkers see how low their bonuses are at the end of the year. Not all of them are horrible, it’s the same ones every week. Too busy to fire them and help is hard to find these days.
@@Sorchia56 that's understandable. They could also go for an extra bonus if they have incentive for taking care of the wires. If they take care of the gear properly for a lengthy period of time without you needing to do repairs if it's their fault, then reward them for the effort. Understandable if you can't do that for financial reasons. Some people just need positive motivation to shape up.

I made a comment about the "Mindy" post in Reddit and related a story about a Mindy in our office (pre-COVID) who everyone hated because she was a meddler, and her attitude was toxic. She eventually got fired because she was rude to a member of upper management who posed as a customer.
That last story though... all you really need is MS Outlook or some other calendar tool where every piece of equipment has its own calendar that shows if it's already booked at a certain day/time.
A shared excel sheet with a list of equipment along the column and list of dates along the top row would be perfect you could have a different tab for each month and a new sheet every year.

Usually you have a bucket full of water where you stick the cement quirl into and let it spin for a couple of seconds after usage. Clean in less than 10s. I was not aware anyone would NOT use this standard practice, those brothers must be stupid and never see someone professional work with tools.
I had to forfeit my 15 minute breaks at work so I can use the bathroom. We HAVE to take our 15s, but according to my supervisor using the bathroom is part of our break so I stopped taking them so I can have time to use the bathroom. I'm waiting for my department manager to notice so both shitty supervisors get in trouble. That's my ongoing mc.
For the van rental, instead of, "Saved big money with Menard's", OP can sing, "Saved big money with my snacks." This is just too funny...I wish I could think that fast on me feet. I think I will rent a van from Menard's just to be able to do this. If it works, I'll post it to Reddit and here.

A shared excel sheet with a list of equipment along the column and list of dates along the top row would be perfect you could have a different tab for each month and a new sheet every year.

Usually you have a bucket full of water where you stick the cement quirl into and let it spin for a couple of seconds after usage. Clean in less than 10s. I was not aware anyone would NOT use this standard practice, those brothers must be stupid and never see someone professional work with tools.

I had to forfeit my 15 minute breaks at work so I can use the bathroom.
