I wonder if sleeping in the “lounger” position would work (with a pillow and blanket). Not ideal however having some contour in the shape seems like it could be more conducive to sleeping than lying totally flat in the “bed” position.
Honestly, i think $299 is a decent price. It would be nicer closer to $199 but not a deal breaker considering. It folds into several furnitures, compact, build quality looks decent. When you consider a futon at around $250 or so, Id take this for sure just for space savings.
It would be great for a rv, camper, or tiny house. The multiple uses are great when space is tight. You could always use a another camping mattress on the top to make it more comfortable.
Interesting. I could see using it in a small place, like a dorm room, etc. If I had it, I would probably mostly use it in the lounge mode while reading. Thank you!
Looks pretty decent, I'd use it for a spare bed for unexpected overnight company. Also during the day as a lounger. The price really isn't that bad considering how many pieces of furniture it converts into. Thanks for the review
This actually looks really nice. I wouldn't want to use it as a bed since I am 6'3, but the other functions look fine and I would use the included pillow for more cushion at the back when it's a chair.
Yes! I got the Serta 5 in 1 Ottoman when I bought furniture for my new apartment about 6 months ago. I love it. My place is small, so the multi function thing is nice. I haven't tried the bed configuration, but I like knowing that it's available if I have an overnight guest.
In chair mode, it would probably be more comfortable using the pillow as further back support. Another use for the bed mode would be as a bench if placed against the wall with some colorful throw pillows to lean against. It's a pretty cool item.
As a person in a very tiny apartment, I would use this. Mostly in lounger form, for reading, watching tv... but nice to be able to fold it smaller AND be able to have an extra bed if someone should, oh, have a few too many adult beverages, and shouldn't drive! 🤷🏼♀️👍
Compared to some of the military accommodations I've had throughout the many years, the bed portion looks like a 5-star hotel. This would be a great present for students moving into a first apartment.
This would be fantastic for someone with limited living space, as in a studio apartment. All it really needs is a good memory-foam overlay to make it comfortable as a bed. I don't think I'd ever use it in any modes other than bed and lounger. The chair layout is terribly awkward and the ottoman mode doesn't appeal to me because I need back support of some sort. Great review, as always! $300 for a functional bed and semi-easy-chair is kind of a steal if it's at all comfortable.
As has been stated by others, this would be great in a kids room. Or a granny who downsized’ house. I just sold my too large for one person house and am looking at furniture options. I had always presumed that these were poor quality but if they are well built, they are great options for a grand children’s summer without being an obvious bed for relatives casing the joint for rent free options.
I've heard about this, but I never saw anyone demo it. It looks quite sturdy and would be great for a guest. I wouldn't want to upset my guest, so I would definitely get a comfy roll-up mattress for a topper. This is something I can consider for the future. Thanks for the video, James!!!
I absolutely love your reviews, I would purchase this for friends to sleep on who are always want to come in from out of town. Space saver. Love it. I would also get an added space saver padding for it.
If they added a sort of slide in extra backrest/headrest section for the sitting/lounge mode that could tuck away into the base i could see this being a great little unit.
It looks like the "extra pillow" isn't exactly extra, because it looks like the chair mode, and possibly the recliner one, that the pillow is a cushion for that point along with going with the bed.
I just bought one of these for my man cave/garage, and I absolutely love it. Great for my kids or nephews to sleep when we have a lot of people at the house.
I got two ottomans probably twice of that size each. Because we bought two couches and the one ottoman. She wanted another one lol. I believe there are 400 each. I'm not sure. But their storage so you can put things in them. If you put them together you could sleep on it. I'm sure it wasn't advertised like that lol. And of course you can sit on them. The one that you reviewed is pretty cool. Can't use it for storage but we had a lot of people over and lying them up and use them for seats. Probably as a bed for one of her kids friends once. I used a few times just to get closer to the other couch with her while she's laying down. Not bad price. That could do 4 and 1 piece of furniture
I dunno. I think one of those $125-200 recliners and a $50 inflatable bed would be a better choice for an amazon purchase. the chair allows you to sit up or recline with neck support, and the inflatable bed accounts for people over 5'6".
I've just clicked the link for this and in the UK it's £892! Bit of a difference from the US price! I was considering buying it, not at that price though.
Good review, James. Thanks. I like how you showed the length against your height, but additionally, the actual measurements would be helpful as well. The listing says 71", but it doesn't look that long to me. I hope you and your family are enjoying the holiday season!
Any ottoman that doesn't open up so you can store blankets, or any random junk you need to hide before your friends come over, is not a maximally efficient use of my floor space. This is a cool idea for someone who has no couch for guests to sleep on, for some reason, or for someone who likes to have a chair and a large foot rest in their living room, but not at the same time.
Along the same lines of this product, you should try Cordaroys. They are bean bags that convert into a mattress. I would love to see how good they actually are.
Looks prerty cool. I have a large room that can always use an extra seat..especially a reclining one. I think I'll pick one up. Plus it says it can hold up to 550 lbs means it's quite well made. Thanks!
I see it is currently selling for about $300 USD. I think that is about $150 too much for this product as it is. This is the price range where I am able to start getting more or equally versatile yet larger furniture.
I think that will work well if you don't have a guest room in your home like myself. Thay ottoman would be perfect for my office so that that home office can double as a guest room when someone's visiting.
I’d use a twin blowup mattress for the bed part. I did that for my daughter’s futon! I’m thinking of getting this for my study. Two guest beds in different rooms!
I think that is a good idea. Except you may fall off. My family member is sleeping on an army cot and she put an air mattress on it and it isn't going so well. LOL If it was lower to the ground I would do that. But maybe it would work?
The chair is wide enough for two people to "canoodle"! Although in the UK, this exact item is $800+! Although there are other similar 4 in 1's for $300-400!
Back in the eighties my grandmother had a sofa which was 2 layers of foam and big cushions for the back against the wall. We would open it up almost exactly the way this chair was there was no metal parts just lay them up next to each other on the floor but a bed sheet put blankets for pillows. I slept like this for many years did not have a problem but that depends upon the depth and the cushion and your weight.. The lighter you are the less likely you are to Depress the cushions. This would have been better because we would just have pushed up the back and made ourselves a very comfy lounger to watch Saturday morning cartoons.
We bought this for someone that stays a few nights a week with us. We did put a foam topper on it. The person weight is about 150 lbs. it is comfortable as a bed with the topper, but hard without the foam topper.
Ive slept on this exact thing for a few months and over time you start to feel the metal frame while you kay in it and can be very uncomfortable but it was nice to sleep on initally
The manufacturer needed to stuff in a metal rest for the pillow, which could either be a slider or hinged component, and it would make the chair utility function somewhat better as the shoulders could rest on that. Deffo the thing you must throw a comforter on, which tanks the value proposition.
I'd take inflatable bed any day of the year over this one. I used several and they are great for sleeping plus they fold over to fit into small backpack.
Seems others are seeing and saying same thing I was gonna that pillow goes on back for chair and recliner mode. Lol. Maybe he'll update for us once he sees all these. But nice piece. I'd like ti have it myself. Just for extra bed and if hard and don't want ppl staying to long that would certainly do it. Lol
Pretty cool to have around incase you need extra seating or a makeshift bed and would be great for children to use when visiting overnight since they are smaller and more resilient. ☺️
Generally love the reviews, but this one is a bit rough haha. I'd rather have a folding chair (with maybe a cushion), a smaller ottoman, and a sofa or normal bed than spend $300 on this. The idea itself isn't terrible, but it seems more concerned with adding more options than making sure those options are good quality. Seat on the chair is wayyy too deep unless you're a very large person. Hopefully someone can take this idea and make it a real winner in the future
A good bed for a guest that you don't want sticking around for too long.
Guess that wouldn't be cousin Eddie and his crew lol!
@@laurallewien2165 More like cousin Leroy.
Lmao
Or the least favored child.
My thought as well
I think this would be a great piece to have in a kids room. Ideal for sleep overs or when you have kids in your family staying with you.
And for teenagers.
I think it is too big to be in the kid's room.
Definitely something to get before the holidays.
I wonder if sleeping in the “lounger” position would work (with a pillow and blanket). Not ideal however having some contour in the shape seems like it could be more conducive to sleeping than lying totally flat in the “bed” position.
Too bad there’s nowhere to put your head when it’s in the lounger position

It looked to me like the pillow was intended to be used with the chair and recliner mode.
I think so too. I was waiting for him to grab it …. lol
I forgot it came with a pillow lol 😅
@@urs- I'm betting he forgot about the pillow once he chucked it to the side 🤣

Great for if you have kids who like sleepovers. Thinner cushion won't bother them as much.
I've been looking for a piece like this for our A frame game room. Can't wait to get it after your review

Thanks for the thorough review. I can see this for an office or dorm where occasional down time calls for more than an office chaotic for a friend.
As a person in a very tiny apartment, I would use this.

I was literally just looking at these last night lol. What a coincidence that you put this out the next day! Great video as always!
I kind of like this ottoman and it could be great in a guest bedroom or even a living room/family room.

Thanks for this review. I live in a small apartment and have been considering something similar to this.
It would be a good way to keep quests from overstaying their welcome.😁

Thank you for reviewing this!! I have been looking at this item for over a year debating on it and couldnt bring myself to
I am definitely not in the market for most of the products you try but I really enjoy all of your videos 😊
Use the pillow as a lumber support when in "chair/lounger" mode.... Thanks for the video!
You don't need a longer bed.
You need a longer blanket.
5:01 Lol :-)
The chair option wouldn’t have felt so “deep” if you’d used the included pillow
I think it'd feel barely any less deep. The pillow isn't very thick at all 2:06
Well, excuuuse him.

They should make it an outdoor chair..with mold resistant material. Hemp material would be perfect!
Thanks for all you do! ✌️🙋♀️

Loved the quality of your videos now. Thank you so much for upgrading the quality of your videos❤❤❤
Secret ottoman, I'm here for that. :)
I love the metal music while converting the Ottoman
I like this! Thanks for the review. We’ve been looking for a lounger. This could be a good fit.
Chair and ottoman might have been more comfortable with the included pillow.
lol the editing at 5:45. great vid, James.

Maybe use the pillow behind your back while in chair mode. Comment courtesy of a shorty. 😉
Pillow is probably supposed to be part of the chair back (as a back cushion)
Reminds me of the little click clack sofa me and my wife had when we first got married about 14 years ago!
I got two ottomans probably twice of that size each. Because we bought two couches and the one ottoman. She wanted another one lol. I believe there are 400 each. I'm not sure. I love mine! You didn’t do the chai/lounger combo. That’s the one I always use in my home office to watch you videos.
I love the phone booth feature. A privilege that only Superman can relate.
New bed for your doggie too, that's what mine would do lol!

I think as a quick piece of furniture that gives you an extra chair and/or bed for a guest when you have limited space, this is pretty good.
A deluxe version of the flip-n-f*cks we had in the college dorms.

Dude I love that you actually slept on it! Going above and beyond!

Yeah, the chair mode would be better if you just put pillows on the back

Hey that doesn't seem too bad. I almost expected at the beginning to be hearing the jack of all trades, master of none line by the end 😜
Jack of all trades, master of none.
This seem good if you have a guest over for a few days and don't have room for a whole another bed. It like a couch type bed but smaller
Love the videos James! Keep up the great work!!!
This would be better for a child. Sleepovers, holiday company, movie night, etc.
I'd take inflatable bed any day of the year over this one. I used several and they are great for sleeping plus they fold over to fit into small backpack.
May do well in vanlife
I could see using this for a guest that came into town, needed a place to crash, but I wouldn’t use it every day. But it does seem fully functional.
Maybe your guest could bring it with him….even better.

LOVE THE FACIAL HAIR!!!
Perfect! A three-day bed!
I feel like this would be good for a home office or like a game room 🤙
just think that you could get a couch bed and an ottoman bed, I would've loved to have all that back when I was a kid.
Thank you for reviewing this. I've been thinking about getting one of those.
Love the lounger, screw the chair and bed.
This the sort of junk like most kitchen gadgets that people think will be handy someday but never are.

I got one last October. $199.99 on sale at Big Lots. Pretty cool.
At 3:13 my first thought was that the chair configuration really needs an ottoman. 😅
If there is a BIG LOTS around anyone you can go check it out for your self because BIG LOTS carries this ottoman chain item.
