Hi. Ableton sends MIDI messages to start and stop transport, that could be why the MiniBrute is starting. You can turn that off for the MIDI output you are using.
If you go into Preferences -> MIDI, look for your MIDI interface in the table and uncheck Remote (there are four columns for Track, Sync, Remote, MPE). This may or may not solve your problem, but it's my best guess. Good luck!
Thanks. The keyboard is fine for triggering synth sounds or sequencer input, nothing special but not particularly weak. I prefer weighted keys and larger keyboards for most of my musical work. (I'm trained as a jazz and classical pianist.)
@@CatSynthTV That's good to now, as I bought the Arturia MiniLab Mk II, which has velocity sensitive Slim-Keys that feel very nice for such a small keyboard, but it's just a controller, so I'll probably give it to my son, for I prefer weighted keys as well. I'm just looking for something small I can travel with and I'm considering the MiniBrute 2 or the MicroBrute for my on the go kit.
On the Run was done with a EMS Synthi (and Arturia's Synthi V has a preset that does it by default :) ). If you want to program it in yourself on the MiniBrute or similar" 1) add the notes into the step sequencer: E, G, A, G on octave below Middle C, and D, middle C, D, E on Middle C octave. 16th note pulse 2) Set one LFO to control filter cutoff. Put it in tempo sync with the sequencer and a low rate, like whole note or double whole note 3) Sweep the resonance upward at an even slower rate Hope this helps :)
How did you record the sounds of the synth to your computer and synth it to a 7/4 in ableton? I recently bought the microbrute 2 but I can not figure out how to record sounds onto my computer, I’m using FL studio.
The synchronization was via MIDI, with Ableton as the master and the MiniBrute as the slave. The audio from both Ableton and the MiniBrute were routed to a separate Pro Tools system for recording. But could also route the MiniBrute back to the Ableton system and record to another track. Happy to chat more about recording back into your system if you have questions, though I don't know FL studio as well.
CatSynth TV I have my synth ran through an audio box usb 96, my computer recognized my synth when I plugged it into my computer via usb, but when I have it ran through the audio box it doesn’t recognize the keys as I press them? Do I have to have my audio box as well as my synthesizer hooked up via usb to record? What am I doing wrong?
@@ourxbox1 The MiniBrute will show up as a class compliant MIDI USB device on our PC our Mac. You should be able to access it from the MIDI settings in FL studio: www.image-line.com/support/flstudio_online_manual/html/app_wiz5.htm

Good and clear tuto. How do you like it's keybed? The brutes' keybed was always a weak point to those otherwise great synths.

Thank you! You can set sync on the MiniBrute to USB instead of internal. Then run MIDI in from the laptop w/ Ableton via USB and press play :)

Can you record unquantized sequences?
You can record live, but they will be quantized to the minimum subdivision set on the MiniBrute (e.g. 1/8, 1/16T, etc)

You need to make sure it recognizes your synth as a MIDI input as well as an audio input. The MIDI is needed for it to register keys.

So is it basically the same sequencer, which is in the Keystep?
I believe the Keystep sequencer has more features and multitrack. This is a single-track step sequencer.
No that is the Minibrute 2s like the keystep. This is super-duper limited version of that
